Very intresting.

January 14, 2004 - By now your fingers are probably already twitching at the thought of diving back into the world of Third Echelon and continuing to hone your spycraft skills in Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. If you\'re a Splinter Cell fan you should be absolutely geeking out at the fact that you\'re going to get an online multiplayer mode and all new weapons, maneuvers and gadgets in the solo game. But now that you\'ve gathered all of the information you could, it\'s time to reward you with the next level of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow satisfaction.

Why waste your time reading the rest of this drivel when you could be soaking in the details of the magnificent Train level in Pandora Tomorrow? We got you started last time by showing Sam infiltrating the speeding bullet train, now you get to see all of the different moves Fisher can pull off onboard and outboard. whats more intresting is the online play.

Sam & co Go 3rd person
While the "terrorists" go heavily armed & 1st person mode.

Nice & simple way to handle the online stealth.

I picked it up for PC today.  I\'ll install it a bit later.  I hear the singleplayer and multiplayer of the game is absolutely amazing.

I went to that NY vs LA thing. This game definitely will be a good one. There is so much suspense when your a spy in multiplayer.

BTW, NY lost.

I have the Xbox version. It looks amazing just like I expected but it feels more like an expansion pack than a sequel. It is basically Splinter Cell: Vice City. They just added a couple of moves and upgraded the graphics.

Maybe I just need to play it some more. I haven\'t played any levels(so far) that were just flat out fun like in the original.

I haven\'t even touched the multiplayer yet.

I\'m getting the game just for multiplayer, I don\'t care much for single.

^^ Black Sam,
Yes SC:PT is a bit of a slowstarter, becuz the 1st level is basically the training level for noobs. Quickly in the 2nd mission that good ol tense SplinterCell feeling kicks back in.

Graphics didn\'t revolutionize in PT, but they are substantially improved :

- way more consistant lighting engine
- particle FX at least twice as much
- twirling hot air above heatsources like fires

really, I\'m now at level 4 and I think it\'s stunning. Great job Ubisoft :thepimp:

I was thinking about getting it. But I still have not finished the last splinter cell so maybe I will past.

I thought the first one was great I just did not have the time to put into it.

I\'m at Chapter Two, so I can\'t say too much.

One thing I can say is that the gameplay is at least as good as SC1\'s, and that the objectives are getting better and better. I liked the courtyard bit, where you have to stay in the light. Clever. :)

As far as graphics go, however, SC:PT is clearly the better game. The lighting, very apparent and dazzling in SC1, is actually improved. The textures, models, and other effects are better than SC1\'s.

A notable high point for the aesthetics would be the water.. gosh it\'s pretty. A low point? There aren\'t many, but the fire isn\'t particularly stunning. It\'s good looking, but in a game with graphics at this level.. it stands out as "been there, done that". The framerate is consistent enough.. 30fps like the original with a lot of forgivable dips. Forgivable, because this is arguably the most graphically advanced game yet.

Console-wise, anyhow. Yeah, Ninja Gaiden is pretty and MGS:TTS and PoP:SoT have great animation.. but this game is clearly a brute-force dazzler. A fug-load of polygons, above-average textures, impressive effects, the best lighting engine to date, and a good framerate. Oh, almost forgot about the audio.. yeah, it\'s good. The music has the same feeling as SC1; good voice acting. The new Lambert works, but I prefer the old one.

The presentation is solid. I haven\'t been able to play multiplayer yet, unfortunately. No Xbox Live, no systems to link with. :( I might have to get it for the PC eventually..

^Good points there, Blade :)

But, I also have some nitpicking to do about the single player campaign in PT. Beware, it may contain SPOILERS, although nothing big or about the plot ;

- Level 1  : basically a mix between a training level and a normal mission. I\'d wish they\'d had a seperate training level like in SC1. Now the 1st level feels like, indeed, a mixed bag. I don\'t really like that new jungle stealth suit btw. Also, Sam\'s face looks like they just copied n pasted the head from the PS2 version. Beh !

- Framerate : all the improved visual beauty comes at a cost, although small. There are more parts in the game where the engine is potentially prone to framedrops. I say \'potentially\' becuz this doesn\'t ALWAYS apply.
BUT, becuz of the increased graphical complexity they have artificially made the speed of the panning camera LESS fast , when you have Sam with his back against a wall. They probably did this due to the improved graphics and to avoid any screentearing.
Personally I prefer a quicker camera and put up with some minor screentears once in a while. This is my biggest gameplay complaint in PT. Of course, the camera is certainly just quick enough for it to remain playable.

- AI : ok, I started right away on HARD difficulty. The guards\' senses have noticably improved, but it\'s a pity though that there\'s still no squad based search&destroy team AI in SC PT.
MGS has that over SC, although MGS guard\'s senses are a bit more numb.

- Voice acting : The new Lambert is ok, although I still prefer the old one. The old one had better jokes btw. Grimsdottir sound like a real b1tch in PT. Ok, she sounded a bit cheesy in SC1, but certainly more friendly n nice.
I also miss the cheesy accents in each different level. Now most npc\'s sound like Americans, while they are clearly not.

Ok, enough nitpicking. Level 2 is basically like a very solid level from SC1. But the real PT improvements start at level 3. Ambient atmosphere, music and level design are all topnotch and certainly way better than MGS2\'s bland n boring Big Shell with that out of place loungy background music. I\'m now in level 4. Past halfway through I guess. This is one impressive level. I haven\'t been in Jerusalem, but they made it so damn atmospheric that the game is actually a virtual vacation.

....But yes, I too, have get me a damn cable router so I can get Live and play PT online  :(

If they had dropped the if you kill someone then mission over. I would have bought this game in a heartbeat.  I am still considering it for the online play though.

This has nothing to do with what you said still I think Sam looks so bad-ass in that first pre-rendered cut scene. Remember how goofy Solid Snake looked with the headband covering his forehead/eyebrows/eyelids and with the elvis mullet? Sam Fisher looks EXACTLY like he should.

^ Eh, no it isn\'t. The game is GREAT. The demo\'s are horrible.
Go read the SC forums, they complained about the demo\'s too and when they got the full game they all shut up. Remember,
in most cases a demo is NOT a slice of final code. It is a stand alone coded piece of software, mostly beta build.

Yeah...i prefre Snake over Sam anyday...

btw, a bit off topic here, when i finished MGS2 then, I think i can\'t understand exactly what happened at the end...i can\'t remember exactly, but Snake commanding officer(u know the dude that shows up in his communication screen and give him his info about his mission) seems to go haywire at the end...was he a robot or program of some kind?? It was weird, but i didn\'t bother to look for info about it then, now it just struck me and I\'m curious.

I have to say that the Indonesia level was the best one so far.

When I rappelled(sp?) down into the marijuana patch, I knew it was going to be fun.

If I got it correctly he was AI.Not the real person who was previously with Snake. He was transmitted as an AI through Raidens nanomachines to guide him through the misisons that resembled the events in shadow mosses. The colonel was another part of the context that was an orchestrated representation of Snakes experiences with the Colonel in MGS1.
Near the ending of the game it was the patriots revealed that was talking to Raiden since the experiment was nearly 100% succesful and revealing theirselves or not wouldnt affect the final results.

^Yes... and it was the REAL Solid Snake there. The whole Plant chapter was indeed real, no VR simulation. It was a reallife orchestrated simulation of the Shadow Moses incident. Ocelot even said it on top of Arsenal Gear at the end ; he admit\'s the "program" did NOT forsee the REAL Snake to show up. Raiden served as the \'Snake\' in this reallife simulation.
