Cool... yet another chance to confuse our American cousins with even more eastend gangster speak.
-
G1 was (IMO) great.. but it had some flaws, the controls is one of them. :(
Looking forward to this one. :)
-
Controls and Anti-skip Cut scenes !
-
I liked the cutscenes ("where\'s mi kid you bloody wanker?"), but sure. A option to skip them would be nice. :)
-
i hope they improve on the original a lot. wasnt htere speak of this being in scotland?
-
I loved the shooting bits but the driving was bad IMO.
I\'ll still check it out though.
Favourite quote "Ave some o dat"
-
I finished it about a month ago and must say that I really enjoyed it compared to what the mags and sites rated it but, as you guys pointed out, it needs to sort out the controls and the cutscene skipping. Best quote "You\'re not ****in Rambo!!"
-
The cut scenes can be skipped once you have completed the game. Just tap the L3 analogue stick to skip.
-
Where are the cars ? Where\'s the driving part of the game ?
I hope they\'re not shifting the balance of on-foot/driving
-
Driving in that game was terrible. If they polished that up where chases were actually good then that alone would make the game so much better. A few tweaks of the controls and some mechanical changes and youve got a decent game. Cant forget a good story of course. That and variety. Whats a game w/o it
-
Hmmm.. and I thought the driving was really nice....
Anyway, here\'s a spicy tidbit : part of the dev staff
split up from Soho Studio\'s and begin their own in
Austrialia (or New Zealand ? ). That isn\'t a real good
sign for this game imo.

That depends on who these people were and besides the team still has the highly capable engine to produce something good with.
Just fix the controls and make the driving and exploring parts more fun and involving and you\'ll have a great game. The first one was merely ok IMO. Some really good parts but in the end it was flawed...

The Getaway 2 will still be set in London.
-
^ Yes, I know that. I only stated that part of the head staff of the original Getaway team start their own development studio elswhere. The name of the studio is rumoured to be "Bondi", and if I\'m not mistaken it\'ll be Brendan McNamara going with them. He was the Getaway\'s main director ! This whole thing is imo of substantial impact on the Getaway2 already....
-
Lol. I remember before the first one came out there were touched-up photos of London being passed of as in-game shots. All the PS2 fan boys bigged it up. The graphics turned out to be average at best. Choppy framrates, poor textures, poor collision detection marred the game. I have a feeling this will happen all over again...

I can understand that you are sad coz this gangsta title will not be available for the portbox.
-
the firs one was good, def not great by any means though, i hope this becomes what the first should of been

I never said it was a bad game. It was quote good. Just not as good as originally hoped. Everything I said was right...it does have choppy framerates, especially when driving. The textures are dull (especially on the cars) and the collision detection, although on the whole was okay, could occasionally cause a huge lapse of frustration.
