Title: Ridge Racer 6 by end of 2004
Post by: ##RaCeR## on January 21, 2004, 05:44:12 AM
According to various Internet sources, Ridge Racer 6 is much closer to completion than was generally thought, with a bevy of precise information making its way onto the global information exchange.

Ridge Racer 6 will be a true sequel in the series, not another offshoot in the likeness of the not-too-well received R: Racing Evolution. Expect more arcade-powered, powerslide action.

Interestingly, sources close to Namco claim that Ridge Racer 6 will be hard disk heavy, using a considerable amount of space on each machine. Why this would be the case is a bit of a mystery, though the fact that the game will be online points to a considerable amount of bonus downloads, including tracks, cars and girls from previous outings.

Excellent news comes in the revelation that the original Ridge Racer will be made available again, enabling gamers to see where it all began. (It actually all began with Namco ripping off Sega’s Daytona, but that’s another story.) The remake will feature everything from the original game, presented with uprated graphics, making it a must-see piece of code for fans of he series. As to whether the remake is taken from the 1992 Namco System 22 board or the 1996 PlayStation conversion remains to be seen.

Expect to see Ridge Racer 6, a PlayStation 2 exclusive, on shelves before the end of the year.

Are you saying that you need a hard disk in your ps2 to be able to play it??

^^

I didn\'t write that, the article came from Spoog.com

Yes, I think RR6 needs the HDD, whenever that\'ll be released. Could be a new bundle? Yes, RR was a copy of Daytona, but look which one became more successful :)

Eh, the formula is getting old, and with the lackluster graphics in many of the teams games im not sure if they can revive the game. Not only that but you NEED the HDD? Seems kinda fishy. Id love to see some new depth to the game but im not getting my hopes up.

Does anyone care about RR any more?

I mean, cars that go sideways to 45 degrees and then don\'t go round any further, disgusting handling and embarrasing sound effects, these games belong to stay in the year 199whatever.

Lol. Ridge Racer 6. Things are getting real original now. I bet you fellow PS2 owners are looking real forward to the 6th installment of yet another shitty PlayStation exclusive series...

RR4 was fantastic, RR5 was solid, one of the better arcade racers. Cervantes, you obviously don\'t care about the game this thread is about, yet you troll it. I wonder why...

That\'s what I\'m saying. RR series has been over-used. And I get accused of trolling.

I just tell it how I see it...
