Not Eidos but EA will be bringing Timesplitters 3 to the consoles. The game(published by Free Radical Design) is the first TS game that will not be developed by Eidos.
The first 2 TS-titles sold approximately 2 million copies. It is not yet clear on what console TS 3 will appear and it will be in 2005 that the game ships to the stores.
God I love Timesplitters 2!It\'s the best fps on a console hands down.

First of all it was Free Radical that developed both of the Timesplitters games. Eidos was the publisher.
Second: I\'ve got no second...
-
so what is Free Radical\'s next project? Maybe they gave up Timesplitters in favour of a more serious shooter (i.e. Killzone)...?
-
TS3 should be very good if its anything like the first two.
-
hmmphhhhh, i dop not really like ea, i hope they dont put there overly arcadey feel on it
-
I think you got that backwards.... EA is gonna publish it, while Free Radical will still develop it.

Yeah because we all know the Tony Hawk games don\'t have the arcade feel to them (sarcastic smiley)
Don\'t get me wrong though Kopking,I love the Tony Hawk series(although I have yet to play Underground).
-
PS2 only? Odd... That\'s what it seems like so far, but would be rather odd since TS2 made it to all platforms. I guess we won\'t know for sure until they tell us.
-
I think you have it backwards.
Free Radical will be the developer and EA will be the publisher. Distinct difference. It seems unlikely that all of a sudden Free Radical would be able to publish a game , espically when it\'s a series they have developed.

I don\'t understand your point?
Skate games and FPS are completely different.
If he wanted realistic skating he would really go skating.
Not that you were talking to me......
......goes back under rock. :eyemouth:

What in the hell does Tony Hawk and TimeSplitters have in common? Other than the fact, they are both over-rated series...
Either way, it\'s a completely different situation. Free Radical will develop TimeSplitters 3 (unlike the first poster\'s claim). EA will publish. Just like NeverSoft develops Tony Hawk. Not sure who is the publisher on that one as I never cared for the series. Yes, the publisher does have some say on how the game will turn out, but for the most part, on an established series like this a company like EA isn\'t going to make the developer change the formula too much. It\'s more of a matter this was just an easy franchise for them to pick up and get some money off of.

The arcade feel!! *LIC goes back to reading school*
I was just surprised that kopking didn\'t like the arcade feel to the game(Timesplitters 2) whereas the Tony Hawk series is dripping with arcade-feel.
That\'s all folks.

Maybe Electronic Arts aren’t as incompetent as Eidos.. Remember Eidos made TS2 offline, just a few months (weeks?) before it was released. :(
-
This bodes well for TS3 to be online.... at least for ps2.
-
i know what you are saying , but i mean for me anyways, ea seems to dumb down games a lot
-
I doubt EA will want to change a game that has a proven forumla that works. I really don\'t foresee anything radically changing from the previous two installments (aside from maybe online play).

Activision
It\'s not on-line but it\'s linkable.
Which brings me to another question, apart from GT3 and TS2 what other decent link games are there?
-
Nnnooooooooooooooo!
EA suck c*cks in hell.
Dammit that\'s the framerate shot to death with a minigun, now EA are wondering how to make it totally uninspiring and drab whilst holding the attention of stupid parents around Christmas.
Worst news I\'ve heard in a while.
-
you guys don\'t get it!
EA IS NOT MAKING TIMESPLITTERS 3!!!!!!11
EA is mearly publishing it, which means shipping it around the world and doing the ads for it (and taking a slice of the profits). Freeradical is making TS3 as they have made both of the first 2.

I do \'get it\' but IMHO just about everything EA has touched in the past couple of years has been shit. Lack of imagination, lack of on-line games for xBox (sulky sods, just because M$ would have embarrased them) and a severe lack of FPS or Hz.
Uurgghhh.
Timesplitters 2 is the best deathmatch game since Perfect Dark, to give it to (in any form) EA is like giving a ming vase to Muhammed Ali, it MIGHT not get dropped but it\'s f*cking dangerous.
-
EA isnt\' touching this one though. They are just shipping it out and getting it on the shelves. They have no say in what is in the game, no say in the development. They just get it out. I really don\'t care who the publisher is, as long as the developer is still Free Radical.
-
As long as EA don\'t get to do their usual \'Anti-Midas Touch\' thing and bollox it all up.
Timesplitters 2 has lovely textures, an intuitive control system and a massive framerate, this is everything EA isn\'t at the moment.
