Interesting article on what\'s going down this year in terms of equipment in the Super Bowl. Thought you guys might like to see what\'s in store..

muahaha thanks vid. Didn\'t know CBS of all companies would go all out like this. Sennheiser mics and 100% HD cameras.. :nerd: And I\'ve always wondered how they got those cool overhead shots. That camera looks like a UFO.
Is this a special industry newspaper?
-
Yeah, TV Technology. You can probably get it if you want it. Just make crap up about who you are. I have it at the office though. I\'ll try and remember to get you the info.
CBS has always been at the forfront of HD technology. I am very excited about the dolby surround sound. That is going to kick ass. They did it in a game earlier this year and if you don\'t want to hear the announcers, just turn off the center channel and you almost have an ambient game. Plus the effects flying over your head is pretty freaking cool.

We have digital cable. This better be good. I mean, "realistic enough to reach into the TV" good. *looks at plasma TV*
-
What if someone shoots the ball and falls directly ON the camera? :p

They throw it.
Also, the camera isnt usually in their way. Im guessing they move it to center of the field where passes are less likey to go through. Left and right side passes are more popular and used.
-
I think they keep it just behind/above the QB, actually.
-
Didn\'t that wrestling dude football league use somthing like this. Only not in HD of course.
-
Camera is always behind the QB. It\'s also fast as shit. I\'ve been to a couple games where I\'ve gotten to watch it and it\'s pretty damn cool.

There is a HUGE difference between digital TV and Hi Definition.

Ok.I am not much familiar with American Football. But isnt the player allowed to shoot the ball from a distance if that means going for a direct goal?
-
Hmmmm.... Um. No
-
No feet at all?
-
Honestly I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.
How do you shoot a ball down?
What\'s a direct goal?
-
Hmmm....well as I said I am not familiar much with American Football.I thought there was another way to manage a goal except from touch down.
-
You can either go in the end zone with the ball in your hands
*OR*
kick a field goal through the middle of that yellow goal post at the ends of the field.
What\'s this about shooting?
-
LOL OH MY GOD!! thats what I ment.hahah.
I dont know about you guys but in Cyprus I ve heard people shout "shoot the ball"(they say shoot in english) and ment kick the ball.
I was so familiar with that expression I didnt know it isnt used in English.
Oh my.thats embarassing :o
ts ts.Cyprus.Why on earth do I live there :p
-
The only sport where we say, "shoot the ball" is basketball.
-
HAHAH thats ironic.I cant recall any Cypriot say shoot the ball for basketball.Although I ve heard this expression in foreign basketball matches and from foreigners
-
In the stands though sometimes you say "Shoot the Quarterback."
But that\'s usually after an INT.
