I got a PC3200 512MB stick and have a PC2100 256MB stick but I\'m not sure if I should put in the PC2100. Will it slow down the PC3200 or anything?

whats your FSB running at now?

usually it will run at the same speed as the slower ram, but you could also have some probs with the mismatched speeds.

400MHz, mm

running a celeron?

AMD Athlon XP 2500+

Use WCPUID (http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html) to see how fast your ram is running. You can set both sticks to whatever frequency your mobo allows in your bios. From there it depends on how much the pc2100 can handle being overclocked.
I\'ll be the non-thrifty voice of reason and tell you to get some new pc3200 crucial.

Run it at the lowest speed then change your memory timings. 5-2-2-2 instead of running at 400mhz with 7-2-2-2.5
You won\'t be able to overclock a 2.1gb (266) chip to a 3.2gb (400) chip.
Even better, just get another chip. Try to match it to the chip you already have. Different manufatures use different SPDs. So if you want to change your memory timings, you\'ll most likely get trouble with mixed memory.
