Title: Souly\'s Pain continues....
Post by: §ôµÏG®ïñD on February 06, 2004, 06:35:16 AM
Hey all, I’ll be back in full soon enough, another week minimum. I\'ve had my stitches removed and only 1 end hasn\'t closed fully. It\'s weeping out crap... It’s very uncomfortable but only small amount of pain. I can only sit for about 10 minutes at a time, then I feel the pressure building up and I have to lie down.
I\'m walking now, slowly but steadily.  There won\'t be a huge scar; the end that hasn\'t closed properly will probably have a bigger scar.

anyway, though I’d just keep u informed on how I’m doing... I\'ll be back soon enough. Still keeping busy though, been hiring heaps of ps2 games... even got myself a little PSX to PC control adapter for my emus, great device. :)

I\'ll should be back in full within the week. I hope anyway. :)
Cheers.

Nothing wrong with hiring.  It\'s just different.  People in the states call it renting.

In order to hire something, they would have to have a heartbeat.

we use both here, renting and hiring. Anyway, yea i got mesh put in.. They cut me larger then normal because my hernia had descended way too much. It was much larger then they thought. The ultra sound couldn\'t pick it up, which seems strange to me..

So now i\'m part man, part machine.... ;)

I take it that the mesh is causing you problems?

It took 4 weeks for it to "re Shape" to the contours of my body, felt like the implanted a small platic bottle under the skin.

Good to hear from you again.

I hope you\'ll get better soon. :p

The biggest operation I\'ve been in was when they had to cut my toe open and remove a part of the root for the nail.

I saw them yesterday when they removed my stitches..
Yea they said it was just weeping and not an infection.
Which is good.. As for the discomfort, I’d say its the mesh and the section that hasn\'t healed fully yet.
Feels strange with a build up in pressure where the mesh is, and painful from the cut..
It wasn\'t keyhole. I knew that the day i woke up. I just wanted to know why it wasn\'t keyhole. The General Surgeon said it was never going to be keyhole, but my General Doc said it was. The GS never bothered to tell me this though till yesterday. If it was keyhole, i\'d most likely be walking around properly now.

I had that done to both big toes at the same time, was off work for 7 weeks due to the wounds getting infected.

Yuck.. I remember how my toe looked before the operation, not a pretty sight.. I had to get two anaesthetic shots because it was so infected.

I remember the doc was going to cut and I said "wait, I still feel something", he said "Do you feel pain? There is a difference between feeling and pain"

Mine were so bad I had the surgery done under general anaesthetic. They felt much better after the surgery as ingrowing toenails are painful as hell. It hurt when I had my stitches out though.

Normally it’s a rip in your abdomen wall. It allows body tissue/organs to push through. Very painful and depending on the area it can be fatal. It can become strangulated and that’s when the serious problems comes in. They can’t be repaired with medicine only surgery.

And how do you detect one?

U know when u have one. They\'re painful. When I got mine I had swelling for a week in my groin. I thought nothing of it because there was no pain and everything was working normally. Then when I was at work I felt a tingling sensation then s@#t loads of pain.
It was like I was stabbed in my groin for a split second... After that I felt a soft lump. I could push it back in, a few seconds later it\'ll just pop out again. A test to do is to put pressure on it with your figure then cough. If u feel it push out. It’s a hernia. That’s for groin ones anyway. Don\'t know about stomach ones.
