Yep, I\'ll be getting the ThermalTake Damier Xaser V 6000A case. Very nice case.. Review here. (http://www.a1-electronics.net/Cases/2004/Thermtake_XaserV_Feb04.shtml)
The only thing i\'ll alter on the case is the red on teh front.. I\'ll paint it blue.. Apart from that the case is wicked.
A better review here (http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cases/Tt_XaserV_Damier/)
Some pics

Very cool case. :)
-
nice, i just have aplain old boring case, dont really need a nirto cooled super duper, make your breakfast for you style case =]
-
yeah, don\'t dig the red, but beside that very nice case
-
Most of the nirto cooled super duper, make your breakfast for you style cases are like this one these days. or made to be like this one with addons. I\'m just getting it all in a neat little package. :)
Its abit of a wiring mess, but i\'ll clean that up like my old case. :)
If anyone is wondering.
My old case

-
I think that\'s the gayest thing I\'ve ever seen in my life.
Don\'t get too mad though, not everyone was gonna like it. ;)
-
Isn\'t the whole purpose of a custom case, well, to be CUSTOM? Not manufactored?
-
It\'s kind of like buying an expensive watch. Does the same damn thing as a cheap one. Just shove it under a desk and don\'t look at it. That\'s the cool way to go.
-
Well, when custom casing first started it was an art, people spent many hours making these cases, but now you can get a MANUFACTORED CUSTOM CASE...How is it custom if there is a ton EXACTLY like it?
-
Vid, It does do more then looks. It’s designed for maximum fan cooling. It\'s also made from aluminum, which makes it light and cooler. <-- I mean that in a cold term. I’m also carting my pc around and light case will be a lot better.
LIC, i go to plenty of LAN parties. I\'m sure it\'ll be seen. Also how many people do u think will buy it. None of my friends are into case modding, they\'d just get the simple version. Myself I love it. I\'ll still add my own touches to it, but all the cutting and crap is already done. :)
Thx, I don\'t care if u like it or not, I think it’s a very cool case. I personally hate plain cases that look like all the others, this case does not.
i wouldn\'t touch the case if everyone bought it, but not many people will. It\'s the high end case from thermaltake.. Also most expensive. The only reason i choice this over the Wingo series is because it doesn\'t use a plastic door like the wingo case. I want it all aluminum.
I personally don\'t want to screw around cutting out a window. Unless its laser cut it\'ll be like everyone elses personal job, a square shape. Thats all i see everywhere..
This case does stand out, i doubt i\'ll ever come across another person in my area that\'ll have it. I will make little changes. Painting the red plate blue, adding my cathodes (uv/blue) adding Blue UV led fan. Having the cathodes on a back plate switch. Probably change the HDD, Power LEDS with ultra bright leds.
I won\'t be using the plastic clip to hold in my pci cards. I\'ll use thumb screws. Small things that will make it different from the others. I\'ll probably replace the thermaltake glow thing on the front with my own design too. :)

I bought this case for $60 with two fans installed, one on top and one on the side. It comes with a 350 Watts power supply. I like it because it have up to 8 places to place the 8 cm fans, and it have this thermometer thing. I think its a good deal, and i had bought three more fans and install them in it. two on the back and one in the front (the front is tricky, i have to open up from the inside and it hard to push it open). Its not that easy to open like your is.
-
u bought what case?
-
Fair enough Soully, we\'re just different. I wouldn\'t buy a case for the soul purpose of standing out. If it looks and works great to me that\'s all that matters. I\'ve just never understood the need for the plexi-windows and neon lights, but the world would be a very boring place if everyone was like me.
Oh and handsome too.
-
but u did, u bought a case that’s designed for a home theater look. Its does nothing more or less then any other case. A 30 doller desktop case would have done the same thing. You bought it because it suits your likes and your system..
and i\'m sure you showed your mates when u got it too ;)
ps. They don\'t use neons, just cold cathodes.
-
Is it louder with so many fans?
-
standing out meant attention. Didn\'t want any attention, just wanted something to match the theater.
And for the record I didn\'t show it off, I\'m actually a very modest person in rel life. ;) When people come over they\'d ask What the #*$& is that? I\'d say a PC and change topic. I hate talking electronics with people. :stick: :o
-
I have 5 fans blowing right now in my pc case. It a little bit loud, i can hear it, but not annoying. Its pretty quiet actually. The case i bought, i can\'t remember the name brand and there is no sticker on it to remind me of. I bought it last summer.
-
Okay, i found it. This is the name of it. Xoxide X Dreamer.
here is the pic. The front is blue and the entire is gray. I bought it from swap meat, it comes with 2 fans included and installed, and a 350 Watts power supply. All for about $60. Can\'t go wrong with that. There are other cases that sold cheaper too like $30ish and up range that comes with a fan and a power supply. Seriously i mean, the power supply are in like 300 Watts and up. My cousin bought one for 400 Watts with 1 fan included in the case for $40 from swap meats. (i wonder why it called swap meats anyway, do people actually swap their meats?)

fans are loud when you have higher Rpms. You can have 1 fan with high rpms that will be more noisey then 5 with low rpms.

but i\'m sure theaters is a different story ehh. ;)
My interest is in pcs. Case modding is just a hobby for me. This case is already done, but i\'ll make my own touches. I\'m not buying it just for the looks. Otherwise i\'d just get the Wingo case.. Its the cooling i want more then anything and the nice LCD rheobus. With the looks i like the glow effect it has in teh dark, i\'m tired of seeing cases with flat fronts. Nearly every case i see these days modded or unmodded is flat. This one isn\'t. Its a nice change.
-
no! that\'s the worst to get into a discussion about. lol. People bragging about their 50 or so inch RPTV, how plasmas are so cool, or when they drool when they hear the word bose. :banghead:
I\'ll only discuss that stuff if people ask and are genuinely interested. Otherwise I come off as snotty or snobbish, so I keep quiet, roll my eyes and move on.
Have you thought about liquid cooling souly? I was hoping by the time I build my next PC its popularity would soar.
-
I only buy Lian Li cases, they\'re subtle, sleek, light and pretty. Just plain cool and very easy to build a pc in.
-
Aww man Souly, these Thermaltake cases are the fugliest of the fugly, too many colors too many lights. Why not go for a classy Coolermaster case or a Lian-Li case.
Here is a good looking case

imo.. That’s ugly. I HATE square cases. It’s to plain for my likes. Way to plain. As for all the colors, like I said. I\'ll change the over done red to blue. I\'ll keep as much of the case blue as I can.
As for water cooling, atm i\'m not interested in it. I will probably get a water-cooling kit when i do my next cpu/motherboard update. I\'ll use clear pipes, UV dye etc and have UV cathodes.
But water-cooling is really for overclockers, not many people that have bought kits from me when i was working with my brother would use them just for standard cooling.

Just say it
"I\'m an attention whore and my PC shows it...NOTICE ME..NOTICE ME..PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEE"
;)

I’m a attention whore for wanting a case that’s been pre-modded.. uh-huh.
So every other person that has posted about something they\'re getting is also a attention whore.
It’s a hobby. I do it because I enjoy it; this case is pretty much done for me. Small things I’ll change to suit myself. Some people spend shit loads on cars. Not because they\'re attention whores but because they enjoy it.
This case has all the bs out of the way. (cutting the window, top hole) and the other things I couldn\'t add to a case myself. Removable 3.5 drive bays. Has a 2 door system. 1 for the clean look the other for easy access to the fan filter and installation of the drives. Plus the extras, LCD rheobus, 5 fans (2 blue led fans) and all the other extra stuff and most important its aluminum. :)
-
I wub nO-One!
That case looks a bit ... colorful. ;)
-
plain case.... plain people ;)
-
I guess it\'s the difference between driving a shiny metallic silver Mercedes AMG vs. a Honda with a ton of stickers and a FnF paint job. ;)
-
ey.. theres no stickers on the case.. it is branded.. Which i don\'t like, but theres no other cases that i can find that have a better setup. As for the overdone red.. I\'ll make it blue. After i\'m finshed with it, it won\'t look "colourfull\'
-
well. I got the case.. Man what a mess of wires. Gotta take some time to clean them up. I\'ve got them away from my mobo, but the front in just FULL of wires.. i\'ve got some long days of wire fun ahead of me.. :/
btw. Great cae.. :)
-
Hate to bring up a dead thread - but I have started building my own PC and now I am in the process of finding a case. I like the one No-One posted, but the price is outrageous , almost $200 bucks. Anyone got any good sites with decent prices for cases? I really don\'t want to go over $100 - $120 for a case. I\'m more worried about the component\'s going in it.
-
SWAP MEAT!
Serious, if you can find a swap meat! they sell new cases with a less than what it could in store. Like a case could cost $80 in store, with swap meat, you could have it for $50.
ADD: Oh, if you couldn\'t find Swap meat for computers, I think Fry\'s Electronic do sell Computer Cases. Their price are reasonably cheaper than some computer stores i met. Anything you do, stay away from CompUSA...most of their products are pricey.

don\'t go near a swap meet for cases. Unless u get a dood that will give u a reciept. Thats the only people i buy of at swap meets.. I got a wholesale price on my case. Only because of my brother.. woo
-
I think I have decided on a case.
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.colorcases.com%2FCases%2Fimages%2F100%2Fstealthx%2Fstealthx%25201.jpg&hash=59296ae9d6cfb01b12cd2cb970050972264474f1)
It does have a pre-mod, but that\'s okay. Just means I won\'t have to cut a window out . However, it does also have a plain look to it - which is nice. Best of all, it\'s not over a $100 bucks. The ones I really wanted are near $200 and that is simply to much money for a case - in my opinion. Sure, if I was made of money it would be no big deal, but I\'m not and I would rather spend the extra cash on stuff like a gig of Ram , two 200 gig HD\'s and stuff like that.
:D

so your a attention whore and your pc will show it. ;)

Precisely!
Still - mine isn\'t a flash from the 80\'s with bright colors.
;)
Either way - next purchase, motherboard and my dual CPU\'s.
:headbang:
-
i\'ve yet to come across a pc with a clear window (designed to show of hardware) without the flashy lights etc. I\'ve modded my case already. Got rid of the flashy color and now its just blue (http://www.geocities.com/bubbaroces/frontredpanel.html) and silver. Tomorrow i\'ll be changing the Thermaltake logo and making it a dragon. wooo. :)
-
I *may* throw a blue light in or something, but only because eventually I\'ll put a fan-grill on of the Bat-symbol or I\'ll cut one out.
:D
That is a big *maybe* though.
-
why bother with a window if your not gonna use it....
-
If you liked the Coolermaster I posted but don\'t want to fork out the dough, then check out Lian-Li\'s offerings, very good cases, similar in looks but cheaper.
