Cliff notes : Frodo, in the book, was braver than Frodo in the movie.

I wouldn\'t worry about it to much.  This guy is a nerd.

So is the actor who played Samwise really gay?

I\'ve read that from a lot of hardcore fans. Including some mates of mine. Frodo was a pussy in the movie...

I should really just read the books.

Lemme ask, now that I\'ve seen all three movies and read none of the books, should I?

So far I\'m liking the movies more than the books.  I\'m currently reading Two Towers...what the hell is with all the singing in FotR?

IMO, the characters seem uninteresting and many of the secondary characters lack a strong personality.  Legolas, Gimli, Samwise, Mary, Pip, even Gandalf...they don\'t have a presence like they do in the movies.

I applaud the screenwriters.

It\'s a hard read. That\'s why I got the audio book un-abridged version (not for Black Samurai ;) ). I listened to it while I drove or cleaned up around my home.
