Title: Will UT 04 give Halo 2 a run for its money?

I doubt it but after downloading the demo returning assault and adding onslaught mode I played for hours. The new mode offering vehicules simply rocks. Kinda took a page from Tribes.

This UT will be great.

Halo 2?  That will be an Xbox only release for a while before it hits PC.

I was a UT original junkie but couldn\'t get into 2k3 for some reason or another.  Thanks for the heads up abooooot the demo I\'ll check it out.

I find UT, Halo, and Tribes to all be rather boring.  Particularly Tribes.  I could go into more detail, but I\'m too lazy right now.

I would be asking whether Doom III will give HL2 a run for it\'s money.  Who cares about UT etc.?

I just played the demo and it was pretty fun.  A lot going on screen for my 15" lcd but that\'s my own fault.  If I see it on sale I might grab it.

Same here. I liked the demo but with all the games coming out on PC in the next few months I\'ll have my hands full as it is.



P.S. Anybody else seeing a DOOM III release date of late April? Has id. even given a date yet?

One thing I hate about UT04 is how they encourage jumping.  I remember back in the days of Quake, the crazy jumpers were despised and looked down upon.  Now if you don\'t do all of the dodges, wall dodges, dodge jumps, wall dodge jumps, etc, you will get your butt kicked.  I just don\'t like how everyone is bouncing around like idiots. :)  Yes, FPS\'s do need to evolve over time, but this is one change of the genre I don\'t support.  

Oh, and to relate this to Halo 2 vs UT04, Halo\'s jumps are more old school, where jumping can be useful, but because it\'s so floaty it is also very dangerous.  So for that reason (as well as many, much more important reasons :)), Halo 2 will be the clear winner.

BTW, as Toxical said, I think Half Life 2 will own both of them. :p

Have you guys watched the trailer at the official website? I just saw it a few days ago. Maybe I\'m just a slappy for id. but man, I can\'t wait.
