I don\'t care if its been delayed. If it makes the game even more awesome then thats fine by me.

Yep.. the more stuff the better. :D
I hope we get to drive the T-Ford ;)
-
Nice, I like how 2 of the cars are RHD and the 350Z is LHD. You don\'t see this very often in racing games.
-
The cars look sweet.
That\'s where it ends though. More tearing around dull, grey and green tracks then? WooHoo! :clown:

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That looks as boring as Project Gotham Racing2 doesnt it
-
PGR2 sucks....
-
What is it that everyone likes to much about the GT series. I mean, yes I have played it and it is really realistic driving physics. But it doesn\'t seem fun to me unless you race against other people. It is boring, it looks like you go 20 mph the entire time. I mean, where\'s the beef?
-
Im biased and i know it, but as a car freak since birth its just fun to develop your skills and tuning. That and getting enough money to purchase new cars etc. Drifting. I really dont know
When you think about it, it really is boring, but for some reason i like it. Meh
-
The thing with GT series is its too realistic in certain areas, esp with the sensation of speed. you might be going 150mph, but it doesn\'t feel like it, even though thats exactly what it would feel/look like if you were in a real car.
Once you beef your FTO up your fine.
-
Wow, whoever it was at IGN who made those screen captures apparently has a stiffy for the Mitsu Evo8. That\'s ok, but come on... there are other cars in the world. :)
-
Like this one! Yeah boyeee! Imola Orange. :D

wow, looks excellent. havent really looked at gt4 that much, i prefer rally games in all car racers....... i enjoyed gt3, but i dunno didnt have the same effect on me as the first one... hope its made a bit faster
-
Maybe we should complain to polyphony..... Then again it will just be delayed until 2005. Nevermind
-
Looks like the Jap version of the car I\'m buyig next week will be in here! Can\'t wait to race with a bB in GT4, while playing a ps2 in my xB.
-
haha you\'re joking right? Not about you owning one, just the part how you can\'t wait to race it..
-
No, I\'ll probably race it in the game (not in real life as they are slow as hell), but I\'ll only race it in the early stages of the game, like in gt3 when you had to use a miata or another cheap car.
-
oh fair enough. I know how you feel now. My car is pretty slow but I wouldn\'t mind racing it in the game ;) I\'d love to go real fast and bash it into a Porsche and get 1st place
-
When is GT4 supposed to be realesed anyway?, is it for the PS3 or what?
-
I dunno if i\'m right or not, but it seems to me to be very much the same as GT3.
-
The Hong Kong track is head and shoulders above anything in GT3.
-
I hate screen shots because they aren\'t 480i.. The game never loooks as good as screen shots do.

Not always true. Some screens are sh** and then some are just of replay angles so you expect more because the level of detail you are seeing is from a different perspective than the one you actually play in. Well that and the resolution difference. The game still looks great.
-
The resolution is better, cleaner and sharper in some screens than the actual game. For example like the pics I posted
-
posted this at beyond3d - enjoy people :D
ah yeah, forgot to mention this: I played Gran Turismo 4! :D
It was on showing at the Automobil Exebition in Geneva, Switzerland - which I attended last Tuesday. I was able to play GT4 at BMWs stand, where they had GT4 setups to demonstrate the "BMW Concept M5 Simulation".

I even recoreded some gameplay footage while taking a few runs doing the italian course:
GT4 Movie, 7.38 MB, AVI, aprox. 30 seconds (http://www.conceptics.ch/_temp/gt4_autosalon2004/gt4_movie.avi)
Off hand, I can say that the title looks very impressive, despite the noticable shimmering - though these are usually quite evident on the Sony displays more so, then what I\'ll be expecting to see when running it on my own displays at home. The gameplay has improved noticably - it is far more realistic and at that, harder. The new steeringwheel with 900° is awesome, though makes it very hard and challenging at the same time. Definately will take time getting used to.
Enjoy the video. :)
-
The speed of it is very impressive, but maybe that\'s down to the clostraphobic nature of the track?
-
I suppose so, though it was an incredible feeling. And I am pretty sure the speed was displayed in km/h, not mph!
It\'s a shame you can\'t see how incredibly smooth the game was. Damn camera would only do 15fps :-/
-
How much improved are the graphics?

I\'d say quite a bit when looking at the textures etc. They really do stand out and are very high res. A back step would definately be the flickering - the whole screen just looked quite pixelated actually. Though as I mentioned, most games suffer from that quite badly on the Sony displays, so I am pretty confident that the actual picture quality should look better depending on the cables and/or display used. Hard to tell if the impression from the picture quality resembles what GT3 did or if it was worse - I am probably betting that the game will look as sharp as GT3 on proper displays - just with much better textures and more detail (the reflections rock)!
-
Cool :)
Thanks for the info.
-
Looks pretty good, hope it turns out to be better than the others though.
-
like in gt3 when you had to use a miata or another cheap car.
Look at the Miata, then look at that car you just showed us. There is a big difference......
I personally like the Gran Turismo series for all the cars and realsticness. It can get a little boring sometimes but I love trying out all the different cars and geting cars just to keep in my garage for show. :)

GT4 is WOW.
At uni, someone had dumped a massive GT4 folder onto the network, and it had like 1 gigs worth of movies on it. Don\'t ask me where they got the stuff, but there were real time replays and races from the Hong Kong track.
All I can say is WOW. The lighting is absolutely like nothing I have ever seen before. I just can\'t describe how real this looks. Its scary to think what GT PS3 will look like.
I wish I had cable connection again to upload them somewhere, but I am stuff on 21k (yes, 21k) for the next couple of weeks.

It\'s prolly a lot of footage from the Prologue version.
-
But Prologue hasn\'t got the Hong Kong to race on, so it must be from a differnet build if he isn\'t lying. :p
-
oh sorry, didn\'t know that.
-
im not lying damnit.
i will try to get caps next time i am there. It was real time cause it had the HUD...
-
I hope you prove me wrong Racer, I hope you prove me wrong. :D
