Cored your S2k takes the crown but my imaginary Nissan ain\'t far behind. :driver:
I really wish the RX-8 came in 3rd. Mazda should have upped the displacement, even if it is a wankel. Who knows, maybe the longer life from a smaller block will be of more importance to the average rx8 driver.

YEAAAHHHH! That\'s what I\'M talkin\' about! :)
Best Motoring videos... how I love them. I have a longer, cleaner version of this video that includes all the before and after driver interviews. Only problem is that it\'s 85megs in size! One question I\'ve always had about this one: Who\'s stupid idea was it to include a Miata in the race? Also, the G35 was somewhat out of place on a track. With it\'s slushy suspension, it\'s not usually thought of as a track car. They must have done some improvements to it.
I strongly believe that the outcome of these 5 lap races on the tiny Japanese tracks is very dependent on the driver. The guy they always get to drive the S2000 is simply a wizard. He\'s inhuman, and he doesn\'t make mistakes. I mean, it\'s a good track car, but honestly that STi should have made up more time on the straight.
I have a few other Best Motoring videos as well. They are all very cool. One features two AE86s vs. S2000 vs. RX-7 vs. two M3s. All cars are modified, especially the Toyotas. Guess who wins [again]?

Yeah those vids are the greatest. I have one with the 350Z, M3, S2000, and a Boxter. After that theres a preview for another japanese vid showing a touge race with an 86 corolla slightly modded vs. a R34 Skyline. The best vid evar.

Here\'s another one, in english this time:
B20C Civic Esprit EK9 vs. H22A Phase Accord Euro R vs. F20C Amuse S2000
Honda 2 liter VTEC Challenge (http://auto.joins.com/upboard/pds/pdst/BestMotoring_2LVtec-Challenge.asf)
Actually the Accord is a 2.2 liter, but who cares; it\'s too heavy to win anyway. I must mention that this is NOT the usual Best Motoring S2000 driver. This chump makes several crucial mistakes in this video.

Freaking double post. :(

Crikey! That STi should have won with a more technical driver! It actually began to lose ground to the Integra RSX Type R! He pressed too long on the brakes during the turns! AWD cars can accelerate sooner off from the corners than 2WD cars!!! I know this coz that how I get my good times in autocrossing! Non-driving n00b!

1st, thinking back on it, I\'m not positive that was an STi. It may have been a stock Impreza, since the other vehicles appeared to be very stock.
2nd, I think it might be too much to ask an STi to dominate on such a tiny course as this one. Sure they have tons of power, but also turbo lag. In addition, I\'ve heard from more than one source that the STi is NOT a great track car. It\'s probably awesome on gravel, but in stock configuration, it might be outclassed on a tiny road course. If the straight was longer, it probably could have pwned.
3rd, You\'re probably right about the driver. He sucks ass.

I saw a older footage with the old classic Impreza STi that got held up in the pack but caught up in the last lap to pass an Integra Type R in the looping turn, on the OUTSIDE! That guy didn\'t use the brakes as long as this n00b did. Oh the humiliation!

mmmm thanks man, all those Skyline vids are mine :nerd:
-
Eh, Skylines are overrated in my eyes. Yes they are great cars but there is nothing special about it really. w/o 4wd Its not as great. Far too heavy to beat those cars such as the s2000, 350z, (that is on a track where line taking is critical). RB26DET engine that a lot of them have. I forgot the code for it. Meh... Garbage

oh what a mongoloid.
Whoever the first mod is should ban Nicon here for a couple of weeks.
-
All you Nissan whores should be banned. :D

lol it\'s true, it\'s like a damn drug. but for the sake of it the Z runs on 93 octance (here in the US anyway) and the engine is amazing but it\'s ooold with new tech added on overtime. It\'s a high 13, low 14 car.
The Skyline is twin turboed and is designed to run on high octance (100?) which is why you have to get it specially configured in the US. In stock form it\'s a mid 13 car, even with about 200 extra lbs of AWD tech. Thing is just about everyone who has the cash to buy these also grabs the performance chip which makes it an easy 12 second car.
And yes a Z06 is still a better value. I may be a nissan slut but I\'m not delusional. ;P
