just read the review at gamespot. this game is gonna get excellent reviews. pryor to release i checked out the trailers for it,..which looked great. It seems this game is right up there with the first devil may cry game(i still love that game) i might have to drop some bills to get a box so can play this one..lately i\'ve been feinding for a good action game..And this looks to be the game to fill the need.
damn i\'m not the type that buys 3 consoles at a time! But this ninja gaiden looks incredibily good & from the reviews it looks like it plays extraordinary as well (sorry no pics..saves that for pstwo, or kurt angle ;) )
-
I am glad this game is finally out I mean I heard about it over 2 years ago.
There are other games worth getting a xbox for. Late bloomer or not at least your getting one.
-
All of a sudden I\'m glad I have an Xbox, instead of a PS2. That\'s a change.

And one game does that for you.
I guess this game is really cool
-
Well, not just this one game.. but recently I\'ve been kind of ignoring the Xbox. A lot of its good stuff recently has been multi-platform, and I haven\'t had time to play any of it except PoP:SoT which was fantastic.
NG is the first Xbox-exclusive since KOTOR that genuinely grabs my attention.
Heh, KOTOR was only a timed-exclusive and I have a fast PC.. :) Now you understand my PS2 comment.

For me i am just glad that i finally have a game that i can go out and buy for my Xbox....
the poor thing has become a Dust mite motel since i finished KOTOR.
Plus with Games Like Fable...B.C... & Jade Empire a LONG way on the horsion.... Ninja gaiden will ease the pain of waiting slightly.

I don\'t get the gameplay in this game. It\'s it just stealthing around and fighting one on one battles? That\'s what I gathered from making generalizations from the few screenshots I\'ve seen from it.
-
What\'s the exact release date for the game? I may very well pick it up, if nothing else out of boredom. Well, that and the fact the original three are hidden in the game - and I\'m a diehard fan of the original three (esp, the first one!).
:(

Goodness no. You fight numerous enemies, groups of \'em. You have to make use of Hayabusa\'s various different combos(varies with each weapon, I believe) to fend against them. Combo system in this game is pretty hot.
... ... And despite this being a Ninja game... There\'s no stealth. Really though, you won\'t mind.

It ships March 2nd.

is that usa release??? what the european release???
-
Ninja Gaiden kicks all kinds of ass!
-
Just read a five page review on the game and I can\'t help but get excited for it.
I\'ll wait for a few impressions from you guys before I go out and get it though...
-
Ginko lives!
I\'m starting to really enjoy the thought of having an xbox now.
-
I"m might be the only Xbox owner that is not buying Ninja Gaiden.
-
^^^that\'s a shock! i\'m assuming you\'ve seen the trailers...it\'s a AAA title. guess it\'s not your type of game.

Fable and BC is a must have! :D
-
Shocking.
Ninja Gaiden not your cup of tea, pstwo?
-
In a way, Ninja Gaiden is too much of a hack and slash game. I want a Ninja game that is serious like a person in Japan studies Ninjitsu and becomes a great warrior. Once he is at his highest level in the art, He does assassin work going in villages etc. with high security in place. Something like Splinter Cell but a Ninja assassin. :D
-
Ninja Gaiden is really good, though. I\'d suggest you give it at least a rent, Pstwo..
Chances are it\'s a better game than B.C. will be..
-
I sure will. :)
-
It may just be me. But this game is hard as hell. I mean it is pissing me off. I\'m still on level 2.
-
Keep at it, Styx. It\'ll get a bit easier in a minute. :)
... Then, it\'ll go right back to being hard. ;) It gets progressively more difficult, even with the new abilities and upgrades you attain. I can\'t wait to try it on Hard/Very Hard... When I get the time. :/
-
It\'s hard, but it\'s balanced. You get your ass whomped, and then you realize "Hey, I\'m not fighting as well as I could be!". After a few tries, you\'re breezing past your enemies, pulling off combo after combo, throwing shurikens and the occasional Ki attack. Of course, this entire process is very fun.
Tecmo did a solid job on the gameplay.
-
[insert humorous reference to Dead or Alive\'s gameplay here]
-
One of my biggest complaints with this game is the camera. It feels as if I am fighting quite a few baddies offscreen.
So far as graphics. For a hack and slash it is very polished.
The gameplay kind of sucks at first until say around level 3. Or was it 2? Either way it is when you start getting your combo\'s etc. Overall a very nice game. Which it should be. It was delayed what over a year?

i know it\'s early and kinda unfair to judge but how do you rank it against the 1st devil may cry? (i know the game is three years old but the 2nd one sucked so i\'am comparing it to the 1st)
-
I preferred Devil May Cry over Ninja Gaiden. Then again you picked my favorite game in years. It could be me, but it almost feels as if I am fighting three baddies at any given time in Ninja. Not that is a bad thing, it just feels a bit repetitive. I also prefer DMC with the fixed camera angles. If done properly it keeps blind spots down. Especially if the camera is pulled back. As I said earlier I am fighting way too many baddies off-screen. Not to say Ninja will not grow on me more, but at this point I would not consider it half the game of DMC. Unless you throw graphics in of course.
-
thanks for the early input bro. :)
-
I played it a little bit at my friend\'s house, its pretty cool. I dont know if its worth going out and buying an XBox for though.
-
It\'s has a god-awful camera, other than that it\'s okay.
-
Come on Lic admit you love it. ;)
-
okay, being a new XBOX owner, I\'ve find this game pretty interesting but make no mistake...this game is TOUGH. If you think you can just walk all over it like DOA3....you\'re in for a shock.
Between this and DMC, i think both is in their own class. DMC is much easiar to play and pick up though, can even button smash your way in. No such luck with NG though...you need skills!
-
Oh, yes.. you need skills. I\'m playing on Normal and this game is beating me like Eddie Norton beat Jared frickin\' Leto in Fight Club. I haven\'t died much outside of the bosses, but the camera makes a relatively difficult game even harder. At least it\'s rewarding, much like Viewtiful Joe; tough, but once you become a master it\'s satisfying to put down your foes in an explosion of kicks and slashes.
-
I\'ve yet to buy it. Capcom left his copy over and while its tough, every once in awhile I feel like I\'m a certain state of pure zen, when I am able to slash enemies out in no time, while looking stylish in the process.
It\'s an okay game. I just wish the originals was playable from the start.
;0
-
sorry to change the subject, i never relised jared leto is in fight club.... but now u say it, yea.....
sounds good, hopefully wont have to wait to long for a pal version, with no slowdown
-
This game is pretty good. It is hard though, you quickly learn you *have* to block in order to survive. Also the roll away dash is very useful.
With that said if the attacks were quicker and less "pre-planned" I\'d love it even more. But so far I think it\'s great.
-
How far is everyone ?
I am currently on chapter 10 and it has taken me 14 hours to get there. I am constantly struggling with certain bosses (Two Tanks and a Helicopter?!?!??). I do fine, kil enemies, collect yellow essence, buy a ton of Exlir and then struggle with another boss. At times it is simply cheap. Before the Alma battle you have to fight three black ninja\'s, who are total bad-asses, and then go and fight her and she isn\'t exactly *easy*. Don\'t even get me started on walking in a room with three soliders all who have RPG\'s and are aiming at you...
-
I\'m trying to juggle this game in between my PC games. I\'m only about 6hrs through, now at Alma. No place to buy more elixirs, so stupid...
-
I\'m taking my time, a bit. (I\'ve got a pile of games I\'m working on, with a newly added MGS:TS.. so..)
I\'m at Chapter.. 6? It\'s the chapter after you save Rachel from that tentacle boss.
This game is getting easier, possibly because I\'ve come to the conclusion that just running away from more difficult enemies is a good idea. Black ninjas, for instance.. why bother? I\'ll stick with the white ninjas, thanks.
My skills have improved to the point where the whiteys are of no real danger, but unfortunately when you add sticky-bombs, lightning-fast triple slashes, and increased durability to the mix.. *cough* I can\'t hold up.
Running away like a coward serves the greater good. *nods*
-
The black ninjas and most other minions are easy as poop to defeat once you learn the X, Y, X, X.... combos. You basicallly send them into the air and do a long @$$ combo that both makes you a harder target and kills em much quicker.
You\'ll have to stop running away sooner or later, you need a lot of those yellow essences to upgrade your sword to level 3.

I read on another forum that the PAL version will be censored kopking!
EDIT : EvilAvatar.com notes that French site Jeux-France reports that sadly, European gamers will lack the tasty beheadings seen in the Japanese and U.S. versions of Ninja Gaiden due to the threat of a PEGI 18+ rating otherwise.
-
censored???? wtf, whats gonna be censored out of it???

Prepare for it to get tougher again Blade. Quite a bit tougher.:D
-
After reading all these opinions I wonder....is hard mode playable? :D
-
Capcom: Heh. Would you consider the Monastery\'s creatures to be tougher? I\'ve found them to be relatively easy.
I haven\'t made any improvement against the black ninjas though. I\'m just going to avoid \'em for now.
-
Bad news for you. There is a couple points you cannot avoid them, typically before a boss battle. I know this, because I watched LiC play.
-
Darn. Well, with added abilities and a stronger sword.. I\'ll probably have an easier time.
Also, I\'ve gotten to love the air-drive attack.. which will greatly assist me against those black scumbags.
Black.. ninja... scumbags. Ehhehhh.. :)

Would you please give an update around chapter nine.
Me myself I miss my one nighter easy games. Where the only complaint I had was that it was too easy. All in all I enjoyed games alot more when they are easier.
-
Update>
I am on chapter 12 , with fully leveled Dragon Sword, three level Fire Inferno Ninpo, Windmill Shurkin and no, it does not get easier. Some of the regular enemies get easier, as there is fewer black ninja\'s, but the bosses just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. Wait until you fight two giant worms, who even when you have three life extenseions, can bite you and take half your life away, resulting in , if you get bit twice in one battle, the game is over.
-
Bah....I\'m still stuck on level 2...but i haven\'t put in so much effort as I\'m juggling with lotsa other XBOX game...man...i wish there is a "VERY VERY EASY MODE" somewhere in NG....life is too short to be stuck in a videogame.
-
Paul: Put some more time into it and you\'ll be fine.
I\'m at Chapter 7 now, and besides the boss battles.. I\'m doing fine. Just keep at it.
-
Bah...i\'m still stuck with that stupid horseman boss...2nd level boss....i can\'t attack him while all his cronies keeps bugging me!!!
Any strategies other than throwing my XBOX out of the window??
-
throwing it out the window would be the best stratedgy
-
Kill the cronies. They drop health. After say 15 or 16 of them then it is just you and the horseman.
-

That\'s the wussy way.
Capcom is right, kill the henchman, keep getting health, once they are call, just do your helmet splitter on him when he gets close (run up wall / helmet splitter/ retreat). It\'s simple as pie.
:)
-
When the horseman is on the other side of the bridge or is in a tangle shoost a buncha arrows at him. Make sure you get in between the horse\'s or the ninja\'s armor.
-
Better yet, hurry up and beat him, continue playing get to Alma and let us know how it\'s goin\'.
:)
-
Haha I\'ve pretty much given up on the damn game because I can\'t beat that biznatch. Only 4 spiritual elixirs and 3 PC games calling my name. Fuggit!!
.....but I\'ll pick up where I left off when I get the hankering again. stupid game----
-

yea it really does get pathetic at times. When Alma just hits you from 1 attack half or more of your life is gone. No creativity just pattern watching and being lucky most of the time.
This is still the coolest ninja game I\'ve ever played. I think it\'s better than the 2d versions put together because they\'re all included on the disc. ;)
-
I\'m at Chapter.. 9? I just beat the Helicopter.

Advice: When was your last save? Did you save in multi spots? If so - your best bet is to go back where the break away bridge was, build up essence, by jumping down there, killing the zombies, go back up, repeat. Buy a ton and then go to fight Alma - this is what I done and yes it is time consuming.

The Helicopter sucks my ass - but if it helps, I didn\'t have *too* many problems with the next couple bosses. The worms can be a pain in the ass if you don\'t attack with paitence.

Nah...on second thought, i\'ll throw mm out of the windows first.
All agreed??
Thanks to CAPCOM for the tips, will try again later.
-
I BEAT IT, BOOYAH!
...yes, I know I\'m slow..:(
-
concratulations :p
-
Still haven\'t picked it up since Alma #1  Congrats 2 u LIC
-
At least you realize there is more than one Alma - which I didn\'t for the longest time... The game does get slightly easier after the first Alma battle, at least for alittle while.
