Pretty cool IMO, you see a familiar face from MK2 in there.:surprised

Looks to be good I hope. I was very sadden by the last MK. Only 1 finishing move per character. And the finishers where very weak.
The characters where not all that good. The main focus was not the fighting. Doing all the stuff to unlock characters and items is not what made MK good.

This is the first official screenshot.

I know they use to be so cool.
I hate it when developers change things and makes things worst. I am glad they are back.

what are stage fatalities?
-
If I remember well its fatalities in which the winning character uses the enviroment to kill his opponent.
For example in the good old days of the old Mortal Kombat one of those fatalities for example was an upercut that sent the opponent to a ceiling with spikes.Or on a different stage with a bridge the winning character threw the opponent off the bridge who would fall on the ground and brake into pieces

oh ok! yeah i remember those! At first i thought they meant the friendship fatalities & such ..to me those sucked..took the seriousness out of the game..

if youwatch the uin-censored trailer it shows one at the end. Make sure you watch the UN-CENSORED one tho. but you get the idea with the censored one also.
-
the link to the trailer doesn\'t work for me

My link works just dandy.

This thread gave me a taste of how good MK is, so I just played a game and took a screen grab. :D

Nice. yeah i have all the MK\'s up to 4. I used to play MK with a passion. And to think that so many people wanted to ban that game and now we have games where you get hookers kill them and god knows what else. I remember the blood being on or off was a big thing. Around the time when the rating system really started to catch on.

Never saw the appeal of the Mortal Kombat series, it was a poor man\'s Street Fighter, if you ask me. It lacked the depth to hold any interest, beyond finishing moves, which quickly became a gimmick (animality, anyone?) . With that said, I midly enjoyed \'Deadly Alliance\' as a time wasted, so will at least check this one out without complete disgust.
;)

Favorite MK to me off all time is MK2.
-
The only Mortal Kombat I liked a lot was Deadly Alliance becuase it was different. The previous ones lacked.
Characters had almost identical moves and animation and hell it had more clone characters than Tekken2.It was the violence and gore that made it so "unique" and appealing.

I love MK2. I\'d be willing to get into the newer ones, but they need to introduce some kickass characters. That\'s their main problem imo.

That\'s been a problem since the memory fiasco with Sub-Zero / Scorpion. I can understand it in MK1 and to an extent, MK2. However, once we got into the 32-bit genertion there was no good reason to continue using pallete swaps as "new characters", other than the fact they was being lazy.

The blood still looks soo increadibly fake though. Personally all the "un-creativity" didnt get to me. I love older fighters with a passion, but just the lunacy of the game and overexaggerated amounts of blood made the game at least bearable. There werent too many games to execute decent fatalities and i cant remember any at all that had combos that got as crazy as MK\'s. Not only that but the game was HARD! Something that i cant say for many arcade fighters today.
There was indee some semi large amount of skill to be really good. After 3 I couldnt stomache the series though. I havent even laid a finger on DA but ill consider this one

I always end up quoting you for some wierd reason?
But anyway, the reason why I started playing MK was I got sick of being able to finish the arcade of Street Fighter in one credit. Also in another post you say that MK just re-uses its characters but Street Fighter has done this for years.(Scorpion&Sub Zero = Ryu and Saget) Actually didn\'t Guile put on some glasses and change his name?

No I believe charlie is Blanka before the transformation. Somehow i always figured that was tied in because the alpha games were always titled "warriors dreams." eh

I remember the 1st time I saw Mortal Kombat. It was at a local Kwik Shop and me and my brother always used to play Street Fighter 2. Then one day they put in this game that the characters looked like real humans and we played it and somehow my brother did the stage fatality for the pit and the cut off heads were on the spikes and I was just amazed. Then MK2 came out and I liked how the ninja\'s looked. Then MK3 came out and I was somewhat impressed but then it started going dowhill with UMK3, Sub-zero MK Mythologies, MK Special Forces and all that other crap. Then MK Trilogy wasn\'t too bad, then came MK4 and some of those fatalities were cool while others were just stupid. MK: DA I liked it cause I had never played any game like that before. Hopefully this new MK will be even better.
