if you have a DVI Connecton on your vid-card I would go with the second, DVI is better.  MY Radeon 9700 Has one, I am using a dvi dongle.

You need the white socket shown on the left on your graphics card.

You don\'t absolutely NEED DVI, I bought a VGA LCD because it was cheaper and the picture is still very good.

Hi Styx, I was interested in upgrading to a 17" monitor, would you be willing to buy used?  I have a 1-year old Viewsonic VA520 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051384402456&skuId=4487326&type=product) bought new at Office Depot, zero dead or stuck pixels.  Color definition is very good, my friend bought the same one for his sister after seeing mine.

It goes for $250 or more on ebay, PM me with an offer.  I\'ll even let you return it if you don\'t like it or if a pixel was damaged during shipping (prolly won\'t happen).  I have the original box + manuals.. you or anyone else interested just lmk.
