Post by: zero2cool on March 22, 2004, 01:33:51 AM
Recently my ps2 has been having some problems, during some games it locks up and when i try to play another game, it asks for a format disk, anyone got any ideas on how to fix this, thanks.

You may need to clean or adjust the laser in your ps2.

check to see what color the bottom of the  game disks are that are giving you the error message.   Then do a search on how to adjust the laser for those disks.

My room mate had the problem with blue-bottom disks.  I looked up the tutorial for adjusting the laser and fixed it.  The tutorial had pictures to make it easy.

I got a new laser in mine when it started playing up. No problems at all now.
