MM is correct. the > is a dump. Or if you wanted to append it would be >> if memory serves me right.

Soul yours if you put a space in every now and again would do wide format, hit all sub dirs, pause, and list attribs. Not sure how useful this would be to dump into a text file.

Wonders if soul with all his vast experience even knew he could do the dump to a text file. Or better yet dump to a port.

i miss read what he was asking... i thought he was asking to list all the txt files, not make a list in  txt of all files etc. Why do u think i said incase you have shitloads of txt files  sigh.

Thanks for telling me what the commands listed i gave do.. I really didn\'t know

ps. you don\'t need spaces in the commands either.

HAHA. Just keeping the smartass remarks going souly. :) I did not know the no space thing though. I have never tried it. Is that somthing back from the dos days that would hold that command, or is that somthing they have added to the newer command sets?

There is probably a reason I did not learn of the sloppy way. It can cause problems further down the road. I can see how it would be useful when you want to get in the habit if not using the spacebar, and saving .005 seconds. ;)

sloppy way.. lol.   Theres probably a reason i didn\'t learn the Idiots guide to dos directory commands...  i didn\'t have the book lol  You\'d have to be pretty dumb to screw up directory commands...

OK wise guy. How do you remotely change the dns on a machine running static?

Edit. That was the first thing that popped in my head that was one step above moron as you like to put it. Or we can get more into unix. Then MM would kill me on those.

Btw how is your google search going?

Edit again. It is a 2k xp and 2k3 server thing if that helps you in your google search. Every part via command line. I could give you somthing simple such as adding a user via command line to a domain, but any 6th grader knows that one.

remotely is usually another pc.

With this simple command you can also do almost anything to their ip stack.

probably a nslookup command.. to be honest i don\'t know. Although it wouldn\'t take me long to figure it out, without having to take a course to do it. ;)  either way, networking isn\'t my strong point. Its my brothers. :)

From what i\'ve read. u can\'t do it remotely..

nslookup is to verify dns for the most part. You can change some things, but it is not the best option.

I will be the first to admit I am rusty in some areas. I have not had to assemble a pc in ages. You on the other hand belittle every chance you get. To tell the truth I think you are a cocky comp-usa repairing fool. ;) cause we know the ;) makes it all a joke and you meant no harm.

Btw the answer I was looking for was the netsh command. I can give you syntax off the top of my head if you like?

Edit. This was a dos command. A new one but one still the same which you are the almighty master of.  ;)

I\'m not american...   and yes i am cocky.  :D

ps. I never said i\'m godly at dos commands. I just said theres no way you could screw up directory commands..

pss. NT based systems don\'t have dos. they emulate it.. so its not the same.

Then replace comp-usa for another horrible chain in Australlia.

Edit: I do not care to get in a pissing match with you. If you want to split hairs though. There has not been a true dos in quite sometime. There will be further command line though. If a PDC goes down in 2k, and you are unabkle to bring it back up. You can promote your BDC very easily via command line. That is of course you are not bringing the old pdc back. Or the fact that xp has brought back the command line dos. Dos is easier to say rather than emulated dos. Which I would probably disagree with. The recovery console is probably more dos than windows based.

If I do pick somthing off from someone like you. My initial reaction is to thank them. You on the other hand want to act like a 3 year old. I have worked with truly great people, and have learned a great deal from each one of them. You would not get the first thing from them. You know it all, and not a sould can teach you a thing.

I greatly thank people that teach me new things. I just don\'t take kindly to people that get on my friggin back as soon as i try to help. If you haven\'t notice you started this lame little "my penis is bigger then yours" bs here.

No you are the one that wants to call someone a moron if they have a different opinion. Pretty much any thread when someone disagrees with you.

When did i call you a moron?    you started this with your

"Wonders if soul with all his vast experience even knew he could do the dump to a text file. Or better yet dump to a port."

remark..

ps. I  don\'t call people morons if they have a different opinion. I call people morons when they have all the facts in front of them. Yet continue to debate the facts.  I\'m allowed to have my opinions. You want me to respect over peoples.. Try respecting mine.
