Post by: (e) on March 29, 2004, 07:48:09 PM

Spring the extra $100 or so and instead of that CDRW - get a Plextor 708A  - DVD-R / CD-RW combo drive.

http://www.gotapex.com is always posting Dell deals of P4\'s costing under $500 after rebates if money is your main concern.

Other than that looks like a sweet system, but I\'d bump the processor up to the 2500+.  That one is known for the overclocker\'s dream.  Only $77 @ Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-378&depa=0) OEM.  A lil more if you must have the retail box.

Be sure to buy your case at colorcases.com.  ;)

ps- Forgot to mention Newegg is running a deal on these (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-114-103R&type=Refurbish§ion=3).

Exactly. I\'d buy a new case and get it from Colorcases.com - excellent service, low prices.

Or better yet, he could get a whole new computer from Michael\'s computer.  I hear they make the fastest computers ever.

Yeap, the web THX link to selling the refurbished mousepad for $1k get along very well if you buy a $50+ optical mouse.  The optical mouse pick up very nicely on that special mousepad and it known to makes wonder.

The word refurbished mean it had been specially design and use high end technology such as cryotipnic and well built quality with rare fish rug.

Believe me, you are getting a bang for your bucks.

I have that same MOBO and it is great!!!!!  it comes (it should) with a PC-monitoring program on a disk.  you can upgrade the bios on-line also.  I have 256 MB and the Painkiller Demo runs slowly (reccomended 512).

The dual DDR is great (if you have 2 of the same kind memory chip (256 333MHZ P2700 (or any 2 of the same type)they run reallly quick (I still need to get another stick of 256))).

I would go for the 2500 (I have been hapy with mine).  I believe there is a thread that was started some time this year about listing what was in our PC\'s.  check mine out.
