EDIT: Now I saw it, great! :D The best looking racer out there, the crashes are :eek:
I hope Polyphony gets in contact with Criterion for the next GT game. ;)

Post by: seven on April 05, 2004, 06:18:22 AM: IMHO, the crashes look somewhat \'funny\'... maybe because at these speeds, a car would be spread across the road in a range of at least hundreds of meters in diameter.... :-/

Anyway, apart from that, certainly looks very nice. Very very nice. Is it confirmed that this is the PS2 version running? I suppose it is, because it is the lead platform isn\'t it?

Post by: JP on April 05, 2004, 07:27:41 AM: to some extent I would agree Seven but we\'re talking pretty old hardware here. I\'m pretty amazed what Criterion are able to squeeze out of the system. We\'ll have to wait until PS3 and Xbox2 to see really realistic deformation in crashes etc I think.

Criterion rocks.

Post by: seven on April 05, 2004, 07:58:09 AM: uh no, I\'m sure technically it would be possible to make it look more realistic - offhand, I thought Burnout 2 was quite realistic (perhaps because they didn\'t fly that far and bounce around that nasty)... I suspect the crashes look like they do purely out of artistic reasons... ;)

And why is that so?? Who care who publish it as long as the game is good. It\'s not like it\'ll be cheaper if Acclaim publish it.

Because if Burnout becomes the next NFS game then there wont be an Underground 2 or a new Pursuit game for some time, if at all.

I love my NFS series, don\'t mess with it.

The magazine also said it was exclusive to PS2. Not sure if it\'s true, though, as I don\'t browse the internet.. ever, pretty much.

Crikey! Me buy 2 console games within a month!? But I\'ll be going with the Xbox version which scored a little higher for the DD audio. Happy to see it score so high!

I\'m tempted to buy it, but I may wait for the PS2 version (on the 12th) so that I can share it around with my friends. Plus, when I move out of my house again I\'ll be leaving my XBox with my... wait.. I don\'t have to justify my purchase to you losers!
