I don\'t know who or why this was closed, I honestly don\'t see a reason for closing this thread.

So I\'m gonna risk stepping on somebody\'s toe\'s and re-open this thread, since the desktop threads usually get some action without spammige and such.

This question is sort of on topic since we are talking about desktops...

If you are using winblinds or stylexp - how much does that effect your gaming performace?  Anyone know?

Running StyleXP slows down you puter, but if you do it manually, as in a hacked ustheme.dl it\'s just like running Luna. Windowblinds and a well made skin should run fine, but most skins aren\'t well made and slow down the puter just a bit.

I also see no reason for this thread to be closed.
Will post mine when I get back home.
By the way - post some links on hints & tips to make Windoze look like that, No-One, as I\'m building a Windows machine and I can\'t stand the "typical" Windows look.

Nope, got it over at deviant art.  Nothing related to video games at all.

Is there any particular reason why we post our desktops every other week?  What great thread topic originality.

Because we\'ve got nothing better to post at the moment.  Plus I wanted to show off my super cool desktop..........

Is there any particular reason you are being overly rude about this? It\'s hardly every other week.  My guess would be around every three months - and everyone always enjoys these threads - so why close it? They get plenty of responses / questions / and are one of the few threads that don\'t end up being complete trash - that is, until now.
;)

Oh and Ryu - got Apple eny?

How am I being rude?  This thread pops up every other week.  I just stated a fact.  I think you guys need to get the sand out of your vaginas.

When Jim Lee starts penciling Superman.  :)

Oh... and for the sake of argument, the last desktop thread was posted on 2-18-2004 making the timeframe about once every 5-6 weeks.  Good timeframe for people to get new and different ones, but it\'s hardly every other week.

How do you get your desktop icons to be any pattern other than left-to-right, up-to-down?

Dual Monitors > all

Photo on the right I took during the first ever game at the Phillies new park.  That\'s the swing on which Thome hit the park\'s first HR in the first inning :)

what does that have to do with constantly people wanting to look at my desktop?

Do people change their desktops all of the time?  I don\'t think I\'ve changed mine in probably 4 maybe even 5 of these threads.

One thing\'s for sure.

Don\'t repost your same desktop over and over.  If I see  §ôµÏG®ïñD\'s stupid altar to WinXP again, I\'m going to puke.

Well then dont post yours. Or post to prove how amazingly "cool" you are, by not changing your desktop.

Closing a thread, that is one of this forums favorites, one of our classics, just because your desktop hasnt change is just amazingly ignorant.

I use a blue theme, although i could get rid of the winxp text.

I just find it lame to bytch about peoples desktops. I posted because its the desktop I’m using, wither other people have seen it over and over doesn\'t matter. Some have not.  So to complain in a desktop posting thread is lame.

Agree\'d -  I see no point in posting, if it doesn\'t change. However, like me, my OS X desktop changes at least once a week and I\'m sure my Windows / SuSe will also.
