i\'ve been on auto trader for the past couple of hours and even tho i just purchased the lex last year..i\'m already thinkin\' about my next whip. Don\'t get me wrong as i\'am highly impressed with the sc400..it handles like a wet dream..great power..speed & comfort..i loved my previous vehicle 92 max..but it never handled like the lex..i can lean into sharpe turns with no-body role! i would have understeer galore with the max.
that said i\'ve been lookin\' at the 97 sc400 yea after i get rid of this one i\'m seriously thinkin about gettin another one..i was also lookin at the late model supras..but damn some cats want like 52-65 thou..for them! i love the supras but i don\'t think they\'re worth that much even if they don\'t make them over here anymore. even the ones that were like 18-25 thou..they had crazy miles on them like 150 & up..crazy..i still want one tho.
last car i was lookin at was the infinitdog g35..i\'am in love with this too..i\'m talkin about the coupe..sadly 32-37 thou. is not in my budget right now..the car has the same drivetrain as the 350z i think..i like both cars but if given a choice i\'ll probably take the g35.
anyway it\'s most likely that i\'ll pick up another lex when i\'m done with this current one..the wifey stated she wanted a truck so looks like a used tahoe or an expedition is in the future.
so i just wanted to know from you guys what you plan on buying next..i know there are a few young cats in here that haven\'t bought anything yet..i would also like to know what you have in mind..comments?.....

I\'m selling my Honda Accord before I head off to Notre Dame... It has more sentimental value then actual monetary worth... I\'m hoping that if not after my freshman year, but my senior year, that I will have a Jetta or a new Accord. :)
-
I\'m hoping my maxima will last until I can afford a G35. So that will be about 26 years.
-
Funny that you mention Sc400 and supra in the same story. Why not do this....... :D its good..really :D
Get a SC300 instead. Get a supra 6spd tranny from the boneyard. Boost the livin love out of it...and be happy. I have a very nice of the capabilities vs 2 11 sec rx7\'s and a hennessy viper 500. It\'s called lexus catch up....they all get the jump and finally buddy in the SC jumps on them, and catches them all.
As for topic.... I kinda wanna do a 98 240sx again or possibly the SRT motor in a 1st gen 2dr. Make her about 2200lbs with driver and about 375hp..im a happy camper in a street car. I think i have enough toy cars though and need something more cushy/refined and practical.

you would get along perfect with my man that\'s into cars...he has this souped up mustang..i can\'t give you the specs on it but it has the small tires on the front & huge tires on the back..and it sounds like a dragster..it\'s not even street legal anymore..all he does is take it down to the track...i mean this thing is completely tricked out.
he just bought a rx-8 and already he put an exhaust on it..he said it still wasn\'t fast enough..i rode in it about a week ago..and trust,..that thing is quick as hell from the jump..me personally i would just mack the way it is..but he insists it\'s not fast enough :p
-
WHat ever happened to buying a car and just driving it?
-
This would look good on the SC....
-
personally i have no plans on changing my car in the next 5-6 years instead what i will do is try and modify the crap out of it.
but if i really was to get a new car i would definately go for a lumina SS coupe\' damn this is such a sweet car :D.
-
Sometimes I wonder if I will change cars in about 2-3 years. It\'s hard to predict whether I will feel the need to make a change.
If it do, it might be for a C6 Corvette or an NSX.
For now I am happy with improving my S2000. I\'m planning to change the wheels in the next two months.
-
I love my 97 T-Bird and have no plans on selling it anytime soon. But if I go to college in Vermont like I want to, I may garage it and buy a Jeep to get through the snow and stuff. Nothing fancy, just a 4x4 that can get through snow and whatever. But I\'m not planning on selling my T-bird for a long time.

bro all i can say is keep on modding yer S2000, coz they really are capable of aliot.
just today i went to a car meet and their was this awesome looking yellow s2000. now the body in it self was amazing(carbon fibre galore) but when he popped opent the hood  Vortech charger u should\'ve heard the car spool during a gear shift.
-
Hrrrummph. I\'m an NA purist when it comes to Hondas. :)
Besides when you install a supercharger in this car, it\'s usually wise to replace the clutch, pressure plate, and even the differential at the same time. The rest of the stock drive train wasn\'t designed to support that much power. This makes the whole project incredibly expensive. The supercharger kit alone is about $5,500, and I think you could spend upwards of $8,000 upgrading everything.
-
I am thinking of getting an SVT Lightning - they are on sale and I still have another D plan I can use. I can even go to Lowes to pick up stuff with it ;)

we do buy cars and just drive them. we might add other shit to them..but we do drive them..and often.

I plan on driving my 88 Camry until it dies, then I don\'t know what I\'d get.
Hopefully some light, rear-wheel drive, 4-banger to toss around.
-
like what? 4banger, light, and rwd dont really go hand in hand unless you spend some good money.
-
Why would you want a 4-banger? Just for better gas mileage?
-

Miata, 240sx, rx-7 (I know, not a 4banger...), etc.
Why would you want a 4-banger? Just for better gas mileage?
I guess I don\'t think I\'m a good enough driver for a higher powered rwd car yet.
-
I\'ll give you the miata....but any 240 worth having isnt a 4banger..IE SR20\'s :D and rx7\'s are have rotaries.
-
Mazda Miata, Toyota MR-2 Spyder, Honda S2000...
There are not too many choices for 4 cylinder RWD cars that are affordable. The BMW Z3 was offered in a 4 cylinder, but ... why? :)
-
I like the look of the new RX8 but its a bit out of my price range. :(
-
the new CTS-V

I don\'t like what cadillac has done. The front end of the car looks the same as their truck. Me no likey.

I\'m a teenager on an extreme budget, so I\'ll take what I can get.

Im getting a Lancer.

I think its the other way around because i believe the CTS came out first. Meh, I think the CTS is sexy. Hell id even buy the wagon. If i had the choice between that or the Sti....mmmm such a hard choice (wouldnt bother with a 5 series. id rather get an M3).
Shit im looking for an 86 Corolla Hatchback GTS right now. Or maybe an Sr5 and swapping an AE111 20v Engine in there. Thats just something on the side. Seriously, i have no idea what i really want. Call me spoiled but i refuse to take a beater just to get around.
-
i gotta kid so 4-door is a must have and m3 although very nice it is not one but i could be wrong
-
Oh well, I guess you gotta go with the M5 then. :)
-
Im thinking about getting a Silverado SS

I won\'t have a car worth mentioning here till I\'m about 25.

shit i could buy 2 caddies for the price of a m5

The CTS-V will have about 400 ponies and is rumored to be quicker than the new M5 in certain situations. We were just discussing the CTS-V vs the M5 on another forum. Plus it will be cheaper than a M3 or around the price with certain options.

IF I could do it again, I think I\'d rather have the 530. There just weren\'t any available at the time. My car is fine except the trunk space is tight. I guess our next car will end up being some sort of a truck/SUV. Dunno what.

ive only heard what cadillac has released about it but i havent read any road tests yet but what caddy is saying is enough for me they\'ve seemed to always be honest about the quality of their cars example: pulling the catera off the market as opposed to trying to bandage a substandard product

Well since this topic is here and I just heard about the Bronco. I have been holding out for my new wheels. I have always been a huge Bronco fan I had a 68, 67 and a 82 was my last I sold it because I needed something more reliable so I got a Exlporer right now. So my next ride will be the Bronco they just announced that they were gonna move it from concept to production here is a pic. Oh and BTW I will have one when the come out and will post pics when I get it.

Please don\'t buy a TT. Honestly, you will regret it. Not only is that car getting very long in the tooth, but they were never a very good design to begin with.
BTW have you examined this website? http://www.myaudittsucks.com

this truck reminds me of a jeep for some reason..still it\'s a fresh new bodystyle..i\'ve even heard they are going to have a limited edition o.j. version..:p

That is one ugly truck.....and is that John Ritter back from the dead to announce that monster?
-
How is that an ugly truck? Post your dad\'s again. I agree the truck looks odd, but it\'s a cool odd. But then again, I\'m a 33 year old wancker...

You are 33 years old wanker? didn\'t your 36th birthday just came up a while back?

Hey atleast our truck goes offroad and can take a beating, I\'d like to see that little thing in some snow.
-
Bronco\'s have a long history of being tough trucks, I dont think the new one will be any different.
-
I think the new Bronco is pretty cool. I wouldn\'t mind driving it. Its kind of cool how some of these car companies (mainly Ford) are going back to their roots to bring back some old classics.
-
It\'s wishful thinking at this point but I hope to land a job shortly after I graduate this fall and then some time thereafter get one of these...

I don\'t like cars much but if I had to get one it would be the G35.

*thinks of the hummer H2* You never know
I think it look pretty fugly. Then again i dont like most trucks, but design-wise i dont really care for it. Im no expert but i think i could design a better looking one with a little time and effort. The new Stang however looks sexy and would make its ancestors proud (eventhough everything under the hood looked kinda jacked).
And Swif, do yourself a favor: dont get a TT

Lightnings are not for picking stuff up. It\'ll just keep blowing away. ;)
For me, it might be the new Stang.

Owns what? To me the worst thing about the TT is that it\'s a terrible deal. The cheapest model is $33,970 for the 180 hp FWD coupe version. If you want the car to even be a little bit fun, you need to spend a minimum of $36,700 for the 225 hp quattro version. These are the base prices, BEFORE options... and every one knows that with german cars, you can\'t get by without being forced to buy options. Very little of the basic stuff is "standard." Don\'t forget, these prices are for the coupe. If you want the roadster version, add $2,000!
To me it\'s just complete bullshit the way they ream you for a TT with outdated technology. If you like Audis, then buy a used S4. At least you\'re getting more value for your dollar with one of those.

The H2 is actually quite capable off-road. Im not sure about reliablity in the run, but they do hold up off-road.
Ginko- consider the Nissan Murano..can be damn near as luxorious with navigation..leather...etc..etc..
Swifdi...audi still owns what? all the turbo models suffer from boost lag. The all have mushy suspension compared to their competitors.
S4...RS6..both are lovely for what they are, but put them up against another german rival and they loose. Stick the best of the bunch if you go that route...BMW
-
even tho i\'m not big on the cars i\'m about to mention..the camaro & the firebird was the best bang for you buck a few years back. It\'s a shame they stopped production of those vehicles. I recall them having the vette engine with somewhere around 275-300 horsepower i think. anyway whatever the case they weren\'t expensive at all & still sales lagged...because everybody started buying suv\'s.
i\'m glad there are still some sports cars left..350z, rx-8 mustang, the vette & viper..everything else is sport coupes..even my favorite is gone...at least over in the u.s. & that\'s the supra..:(
ps: i almost forgot about the mitusbishi 3000 gt...i never really liked that suped up dodge stealth :p
-
IMO the RX-8 and Mustang are not sports cars because they have back seats.
-
damn i also forgot about that nsx...i seen one the other day...damn those cars look like a mini ferrai f-40! sweet a$$ whip!
-

I disagree. There\'s no law that says how many seats a sports car can have. The RX-8 handles better than the Z even though it has 2 seats.
-
Gotta draw the line somewhere man. :D
OK, I\'ll say this: A sports car can have back seats if they are vestigial and too small for normal humans, like in the Porsche 911. That still rules out the RX-8 and the Mustang. :)
-
The Mustang is a 2+2 - trust me only midgets can fit back there.
-
Speaking of Mustangs...
I saw a Mach 1 at the mall the other day, and it sounded great. I was trying to figure out if he had the stock exhaust, or something else, but I didn\'t have enough time to check. If that\'s what the stock exhaust sounds like, then made a good choice, Giga. :)
-
Since we are talking about cars, I spoke with Doug Levin today. He owns a supercharger company that only works with Vipers. We are going to run the viper on our dyno for one of our shows. Damn fun.. Stock it will be 410hp, but supercharged it will be over 850hp.
Nothing like driving 150 mph at 850hp standing still.
-
Vid, are you a cameraman on your show?

I actually do shoot everything that is out of the studio. I\'ll be going down to his facility in Miami. He said they have anywhere from 10-15 vipers in his shop all the time.
Pretty freaking amazing. I\'m getting him to get a Viper truck to for the show.
I\'ll be sure to snap some pics when I am donw there. Not going for a while.
Next week I am going to the Lincoln Electric Nascar welding school. Week after that I am going to BD Power where they have a twin turbo for the dodge diesel truck that puts out over 1500 ft pounds of torque. I\'m also going to Cummins where I am touring the plant and hopefully fingers crossed going to get to see the engineering side as well. They are developing a V-Block Diesel engine. I\'m also going to Marshall Engines. They build drop in performance motors.
Starting Sunday I will have a month of hell.
I don\'t mind being a cameraman. Although I am also the director and producer too. Being behind the camera is what got me the job so I don\'t knock it. Although we call them videographers. ;)
-
Need another videographer? I consider myself a human tripod. ;) Well, at least it looks like it when I\'m shooting.

I can\'t be sure if it was stock or not, one way to tell is if the exhaust pipe tips are rolled, if so it is most likley stock (though MRT is just now starting to sell rolled tips) - the stock sounds pretty good, but I think I am either going with Magnapacks or Magnaflows and keeping my stock H pipe.
The stock exhaust has a nice gurgling sound when the car is slowing down and really roars when you get on it in stock form, I just want it to be a bit louder ;)
The only other mod I might get is the K&N CAI for now. I was thinking of getting the Bassani exhaust, but that is a bit too much considering I am not getting a new X pipe.
-
Giga, according to all the people on the Stang boards a CAI is a waste of money. They do look cool, though.
-
Yeah its not that expensive to get either... My car is going to stay pretty much stock - maybe a strut tower brace instead - it couldn\'t hurt.
-
I\'m thinking of getting a brace too because I have a rag top. My car is in the shop getting the hood painted now. I hope I have it by tomorrow since this weekend is going to be a warm one.
If I had a MACH I would probably keep it stock as well but the mod bug is damn hard to ignore.
-
Especially when your see what other people are doing. On the other hand that can also deter you from modding as I have seen some terrible mods on the Mach\'s. Anything from custom paint to tacky knobs on the dash... also, I will pass on the louvers ;)
-
What? Louvers are so cool! You should go for that Cylon look. :p

I wouldn\'t mind having a G35 coupe. Remember though they don\'t look like that silver one until you spend another $15K on cosmetic mods.
-
Well, he can get it to "look" like those for probably no more than $4g\'s including a paint and body. Closer to $15 if he wants it to look like them underneath the hood. **OMG FMIC OMG** :D
-
here\'s my car..... A bit different looking since the last time there was a "show your car thread"
Since then I have got it repainted Lexus RX300 "vapor blue metallic", new suspension...Intrax 1.6" drop w/Tokico shocks, 18" Racing Hart C4\'s, and other various jdm goodies...

oh and for my next ride, I want the Scion xB... yea I know it\'s only 108 hp... but that thing is pimp if slam it and toss on some rims... oh and it costs only 14..:clown: BOX ON WHEELS!!!!

I know OT, but can the forum God\'s please make a car forum?

There really isnt enough reason too yet IMO. Trust me, I would have been the first to suggest it if I figured it was needed. For now anyway.
Now that I think about it, it has been suggested a few times to no avail.

I looked at the G35 when I bought my 330. I spoke with quite a few people and they all told me to go with the 330. I really like the looks of the G35 though.
I really need to get a truck now. We are going to start building a house probably the first of the year and it\'s pretty much a must to have a truck. My Altima is on death\'s door anyway. I\'m throwing down 10 grand today though to buy some property so I think I am a ways off from anything.

It\'s pretty big, but damn it\'s fast. I was pretty surprised. I rode in one the other day with 5 other large adults and the thing still had a heck of a lot of power.

Nissan is upping the standards on the 2005 G35c
SAN FRANCISCO (June 3, 2004) – Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury division, today announced a number of significant enhancements to its popular G35 sport coupe and G35 sport sedan for the 2005 model year in North America. The changes include the introduction of a new coupe Sport model, a redesigned exterior appearance for the sedan and a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum trim or optional wood trim on both the 2005 G35 coupe and G35 sedan.
Another major enhancement for the new model year is an increase in power for all G35 sedans to 277 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque (from 260 hp/260 lb-ft). The G35 sedan lineup, which added a new all-wheel drive version in the 2004 model year, also receives new exterior styling for 2005 – featuring a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels.
The G35 coupe’s new Sport model will be available in an advanced 5-speed automatic transmission or with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. The Sport 6MT model receives an additional 15-plus horsepower over automatic-equipped G35 coupe’s standard 280 horsepower, bringing its power to the 295-horsepower range (final figures to be released later).
In addition, the manual transmission design on both coupe and sedan models has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort.
The 2005 G35 sedan will be offered in four models, each equipped with a standard 3.5-liter V6, 4-wheel independent suspension and the refined exterior. For 2005, the sport-tuned suspension package has been upgraded with 18-inch lightweight cast aluminum wheels with 235/45R18 tires and drilled aluminum pedals.
The G35 coupe will be offered in three models for 2005, Coupe, Coupe Sport A/T and Coupe Sport 6MT. Both Sport models include a new sport-tuned suspension, Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (V-LSD), 19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals.
“Infiniti built its reputation on a stunning combination of powerful rear-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles and outstanding customer service,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division. “The G35 has been a key element in our recent product line expansion and with the enhancements for 2005, our product momentum remains strong.”
The 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan and coupe with automatic transmissions are scheduled to be available at Infiniti dealers in North America beginning in October 2004. Manual transmission equipped models will go on sale in December 2004.
The announcement came during the Nissan 360 news media event, a three-week program in San Francisco featuring the automaker’s current and future worldwide product and business plans. At the event, about 500 reporters had the opportunity to drive nearly 70 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles to familiarize themselves with the breadth of Nissan’s global product lineup.
Guess this means the Z will finally hit 300hp, matching the NSX for that much hp for a stock V6. The Nissan will have mounds more torque though. :p

If you wanna drift, buy a AE36(GT style)
In America, it\'s an old corolla something or another. SOme RWD hatchback that is very easy to drift.
It\'s also a good car to learn on since it is easy to drift with. Cheap to buy incase you wreck. Yes, you will wreck at least once or twice.
Drifting is damn fun, but hard as hell on the rubber.

I have worked for everything I have.

^^^I use credit cards with high balance limits for everything I have, or should I say what little I have ;)
G35 sedan and coupe are both front engine, rwd, using the FM platform the Z has for sporty stability. They raised the bar for afordable sport luxury, prompting BMW to release all these new models that are coming up.

MB as well.

Isn\'t MB coming out with a pretty sweet diesel?

You are trying to tell ME this? The drift master?. Just poking fun but its an AE86 (the trueno/levin notch/hatchback). The sr5 or the gts in america.
And its not incredibly easy to drift. The 240sx is by far one of the easiest cars to drift period. AE86 drifters that are fast get lots of respect but it sometimes seems like a fad to drift one. Personally thats what im looking to get my hands on right now. If i was loaded id swap in the most powerful engine made for it which is the Formula Atlantic 4A-GE (maybe 4A-GZE) which is 250-300hp Naturally Aspired. Talk about sexy.
Its either that or a 91 240sx and get the s13 front clip conversion

almost forgot about my other choice..but this car is becoming more & more out of reach..some cats just want too much for these ...even with high mileage on \'em..i still want one tho...and yes this one is tricked out a bit...
-
i\'ve always loved the supra..even tho the newly made g35 will probably run circles around it...i assume...
-
There are few rice burners I like, and Supras are one of them. Especially the new ones.
-
I love all the supras. The Celica Supra looking model, the MKII and the new one. All Sexy to me. Same thing goes for Mazda\'s RX series (especially the 3\'s and the 7\'s). YUM.
Ill try and post pictures later
-
A Supra with a big fat T-72 is unbeatable on the highway, you just can\'t pass the SOB. I have some movies of the beasts spooling up at 70MPH :D I\'ll upload em after class.
-
Supras are very cool. No clue why they stopped making them.
-
Many argue the Corvette killed off the Supra and 300ZX. If a guy/gal with cash wanted a car that was fast and would turn heads you couldn\'t do better than a C4 at the time. Now Vettes are everywhere compared to Supras, but they still do 12s stock. :D

I am looking to get a car soon. I was thinking of the new 300(can\'t afford the C wish I could)but I am a truck man. The one I want is a blazer I really like those but I can\'t get a Gm discount I can get a chrysler discount so I probably will end up with a jeep grand or the pacifica. Naw the pacifica is ugly.
-
damn thx...i couldn\'t download the 1st two videos but that last one with the supra vs the modded t51 stang..that supra smoked the s**t out of it.. nice video..
-
Speaking of Corvettes, Id have to say that they are one of the most underestimated sports cars. I assume its because you see them everywhere. Last time i looked at specs, they smoked almost all of the competitors in their league. I think the Vette actually beats the viper (not sure which model but im almost sure that thats right). They are priced nicely too, considering.
-
Nope, even the Z06 does not outperform the Viper. The Viper has about a 100hp and 125 ft/lb edge, while only weighing about 200 lbs more.
I think emissions requirements and unprofitability killed the 300ZX and the Supra. Also, Toyota is a more conservative company than the rest of the japanese carmakers. They probably thought that having a Supra sitting on the showroom floor was scaring off grandma when she came in to buy a new Camry.
-
I have an Explorer right now and the gas is freaking killing me. Way to many mile I drive now that we moved into our new house so I was thinking about a Toyota Matrix:

^^^those little whiz bangs are nice cyrus...i think those whips are the best lookin in it\'s class..

The new Scion tB is lookin soooo good!

U sure you can\'t download the first 2 vids? They seem to work here, anyone else having probs?
The Viper is ~$30 more and gets 11\'s stock in the quarter, 10\'s for the Venom version. Also highly moddable and the dealerships really kiss your ass if something goes wrong.
-
as far as the videos are concerned it has to do with my pc...and the scion..who makes those?..i\'m thinking toyota only because of the symbol
