This kid I\'m debating religion with makes Swif look good (j/k swif. Your cool :) ). I got into this religious debate and this kid keeps saying that athiests are ignorant and that they deserve no respect. Now, being athiest, I take great offense to it so I retaliated. Then he says that I "got served" even though he keeps saying throughout the whole thread that he is right, I am wrong and that I\'m ignorant for not accepting religion. Its people like this that really piss me off. BTW, I\'m debating with a dude named enjoilax. This is a lacrosse forum.

I didn\'t bother reading that thread, but I can tell you this. I don\'t like people who called other people stupid just because they are athiest and saying they don\'t deserve any respect.
I don\'t mind ignorance people, just ignorance and intolerance of other pisses me off. That\'s why I don\'t like people pressing their beliefs on other and say you will go to hell. I dislike those type of people.

Exactly. That was my whole point of my posts. I would have stayed out of it if he didn\'t say that athiests were morons and told me directly that I was a moron for being athiests. The ignorance in people can always be corrected with logic reasoning or education. Ignorance doesn\'t annoy me as much as intolerance. When someone is intolerant to someone for their beliefs, it really pisses me off.

I told him that he is no better than the KKK for his intolerance. I think I can get in trouble for that but he gets what he deserves. Moral of the story: Don\'t offend Titan, he gets really pissed and owns you anyway :)

Eh. While I agree that it is pretty futile to debate over religion on the internet, it makes up for an interesting discussion *every frickin\' time*. Plus, one should not argue about beliefs in real life either - yet with christians, you usually get into arguments due to their straightforward manner.
Enjoilax is all over himself and his thoughts. He is the ignorant one and as he doesn\'t even realize it, which makes him a moron in my eyes. He doesn\'t realize that even atheism is an opinion, a belief, and just as acceptable as christianity. Period.

I was actually going to stay out of this one but he offended me so I got sucked into it. And I can\'t back out of a religion debate otherwise the other person would think they won. Thats why I don\'t get involved. Political debates however I enjoy getting into a bit more.

Religious debates ( religion is a matter of opinion nonetheless ) can not have real winners - in theory, at least. If somebody thinks he or she has won due to verbal superiority, he / she doesn\'t know anything about differing personalities or freedom of speech. To me, religious debates generate serious thoughts. I always learn from a debate, and \'thus I find them very interesting and significant.
Not all are "intelligent" or "verbal" enough to defend their views approppriately. Yet, even due to their personal disadvantages, their thoughts aren\'t any less serious or important to them.
The only way to really win a religious debate is to convince the opposition that the belief one is presenting is the truth. This *very*rarely happens - yet one might start a trigger of events which will eventually lead to such a conclusion, and again, it is a win-win situation.

Guy 2: No he doesn\'t.
Guy 1: Yes, he does.
Guy 2: ....
Guy 1: ....

HAHA, I this guy is alright...
I like how he takes a jab at religion also. Notice the sleek and swift insertion of his take on religion. Great job.
I think debates like on religion and sometimes even politics can be won. When a person, such as a Bible thumper, constantly goes back and tries to say that the argument is stupid, that\'s when you know you have won. B/c you got so good that the other person had no alternative but to call the argument stupid. Or when they decide to keep on saying "The Bible says..." or "But in the Bible this king has many wives"

(e), internet shouldn\'t be taken too seriously because it is full of assholes who bring up annoying debates just for fun.
BUT
Internet, unfortunately enough, is a pretty serious place these days. You have your viruses, spy-programs, porno-sites et cetera...
So, it is all up to one\'s personal view and habits.
