So I got back home from the show in Indianapolis, all I can say is, amazing. One of the best concerts I\'ve ever been too. It was Maynards birthday (he had the crowd sing happy birthday) so he was actually in a good mood and Mars Volta still continues to impress me every time I see them. I\'ll post in a little more detail later because I just woke up (I got home at 5 this morning, it\'s 1 now)
-
I hate you. I thought I was going to get to see them gain tis coming Tuesday, but they had sold out.
:(
-
That\'s why I bought my tickets a month before the show. You live and you learn.
As for the concert, the mars volta only played two songs, but they played them for an hour. It was amazing, especially seeing that they played them completely different than they had last time I saw them. Completely blew my mind away, and Cedric\'s on stage antics are a thing to behold. At one point in the show he picked up one of the lights on stage and started pointing it around the crowd and dancing like a maniac. It was something you had to have seen.
As for APC, I was quite impressed. Didn\'t really add too much flare to any of their songs besides the nurse who loved me, but they were spot on every song. Plus maynard played a special song, "Fred\'s got slacks". Truely one of the best weekends I\'ve had in a while.
Oh and plus there was a llama show next door to the arena so I got to see a llama auction before they opened the doors. $50,000 for a llama, what the hell.
-
Damn man I went to the one Lincoln and Maynard was wearing a Santa Claus suit and had 2 bottles of JD. It was great.
-
It\'s \'Fred\'s Got Slacks\', they have played it at every single concert, \'cept usually Jeordie plays it.
-
damnit, I thought we were special, and i was a bit out of it when he played it.
Edited so I don\'t look like a tool...........get it? ha, ha, ha, man I crack myself up.
-
Very nice pun. :)
Are you sure Maynard joined in on the \'Freds got Slacks\' number? As typically it\'s a Jeordi thing only. I know the conert I went to that they done was great. Have to say my favorite songs they performed was...
\'Vanishing\'
\'Blue\'
Two songs I didn\'t use to care for on the actual album but gained a lot of respect for once heard live, espically Blue.
-
Maynard sang, it was his birthday after all.
Edit: Was that billie\'s ass is sweet line added or is it always said. Jeordi started laughing when maynard said it.
-
Never heard that line - so I would guess it was added... I just wish I could of got to see them Tuesday... Didn\'t know about the concert until Saturday and it was sold out by that time.
:(
Oh well, I still have memories of Nov.28th\'s concert. Just wish the band would hurry up and release a live cd or DVD.
-
They were recording something at the show, possibly a DVD. I wouldn\'t get your hopes up though.
-
At one point in the show he picked up one of the lights on stage and started pointing it around the crowd and dancing like a maniac. It was something you had to have seen.
He does that every concert.
I saw them in concert April 9th in Seattle. It was badass. Too bad Maynard just sat in the shadows like always.
Is Josh\'s leg still injured? (He is the drummer, played the show with a broken leg, thats crazy)
-
Actually last concert I saw Volta at, he didn\'t so it was new to me, and yes Josh\'s leg is still injured. He was on crutches and they had a handicap ramp up to the stage for him. Ok, not really a handicap ramp but yeah, it was funny when I joked about it with my friends.
-
The last concert you saw them at was probably a different tour.
The only thing that changes at concerts at tours (unless its like a ****ing huge gig) are minor things.

They have been doing that off and on the whole tour ... We can hope - but I won\'t get my hopes up to much.. Still, it\'d be great if there was some kind of live cd/ dvd, while Maynard went back to Tool....Best of both worlds!
:)
Until then, I will settle for my live mp3s.

Mike Patton > Maynard
:)

Looks like I may be able to see them at Cle, Ohio show. I managed to get off work, now just getting ahold of Capcom, to see if he still wants to go..If so, I\'ll order the tickets (they are not sold out, just checked) and we\'ll do a roooooaddd-trip!
-
Isn\'t that a pretty far drive?
-
Six hours.
-
You can stop by columbus and say hi.

Normally, I\'d agree, but I really really liked APC .. Looks like Capcom has to work tho\', so trying to find a last moment replacement.
:(
-
Don\'t look at me, one three hour drive to see them was enough for me.
-

Fantomas
Lovage
-
Faith No More = Kick ass.
-
Check out Tomahawk too then.
-
Well, I got two tickets, I think Capcom is going to try and get out of that nonsense called work...Me, myself, I took a weeks vacation.
:D
-
Well, I done the six hour drive to see them....
- Burning Brides suck. Worst opening bad in recent memory.
- Longer set list, \'cept Jeordi seemed out of it. Maynard was wired though...
- Those Cleveland people are violent. The Amiphtheater was jammed pack and there was actual fighting going on during songs.. Bad crowd all around.
- BEERRR GUY...NOT THE TAXXXXX GUYYYY.
-
AGREES with LIC
I may have a shiner in the morning. My nose got bashed a bit also. Overall sort of violent. More so than I would have imagined. It was bad enough people were trying to get past me screaming let me the f*ck out of here.
-
Well, it is Ohio.
Crazy ass Ohio.
-
I did notice our crowds seem to be a bit crazier than ones out of state......dumb ohioans

Just "a bit"? When I saw APC play in Louisville, KY it was more of a religious experience for the audience. Everyone was swaying back and forth and the only sign of aggression was during Judith, when fists was waving in the air. However, when I got to Cleveland the audience was so much more aggressive, they somehow managed to find a way to mosh during \'The Noose\'. At one point, the mosh pit was so out of control they was breaking up fights, people punching other\'s in the face, hell the guy next to me had to take his shirt off to soak up blood coming from his head. Infact, the only time the crowd calmed down was when APC performed \' The Stranger\' and I think the only reason they calmed down then was because they was confused as to what was going on.
I will never, ever, ever drive back to Cleveland for a concert. The audience was complete assholes. There is no reason for punching, throwing women down on the concrete, pushing people into the stage and so on. And don\'t even get me started on the amount of cellphones that was being held up , then dropped and people being trampled trying to find their cellphone among all the chaos.
-
Well let me clarify that I was talking about Columbus. I\'ve heard Cleveland is extremely hostile even for Ohio, which seems to be filled entirely with assholes.
-
joo talking to me? actually the show wasn\'t that hostile. although the jerkoffs expecting TOOL trying to mosh annoyed me quite a bit. moshing is so 90\'s:rolleyes: and i\'m listening to the bootleg of the show now.:D
-
Phil is speaking from his view in the stands, because he doesn\'t go in the pit. Speaking from a Summer Sanitarium pit standpoint, it was aggresive but in no way was it out of control or excessive.
-
Was you there also Bozco? If so, that\'s freaky, three PSX2Central guy\'s at the same place and never did actually meet...Bummer. :(
I say it was out of control due to the fact it was A Perfect Circle concert. There is no need to be moshing and actually, physically fighting during those songs. Maybe I was just annoyed, because I remembered the Lousiville show where everyone was quiet, swaying back and forth and just having a good time. Come to Cleveland and all I got was people scraeming, fighting and pushing.
Either way, I downloaded a Torrent of the concert, the sound is terrible, so now I\'m on the search for a better one. I really, really, really want a good quality version of the concert, just for \'The Stranger\'. Best part of the whole show.
-
Actually I was talking about the Mars volta concert that I went to, not the summer sanitarium.

I was defending ohio fans according to what I\'ve seen from the sanitarium concert, not from being at that APC one in Cleveland.

I know this.
