Bush\'s "great" coalition just got a little smaller.
Spain PM orders Iraq troops home
Spain\'s new prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has given orders for Spanish troops in Iraq to be brought home in "as short a time as possible".
Mr Zapatero said he could not ignore what he called the will of the Spanish people.
The previous government\'s support for the war in Iraq, and its handling of the Madrid bombings, were thought to have caused its election downfall.
Spain has about 1,300 troops stationed in Iraq.
Mr Zapatero said he had ordered the defence minister to "do what is necessary for the Spanish troops stationed in Iraq return home in the shortest time possible".
He spoke just hours after the new Socialist government was sworn in.
Rest of the story.

Coward socialist bastard. :p ;)
-
I look at it as cowardice in an effect that it tells these ppl that you can bomb your way into your wishes. On the other hand, it\'s kinda nice to see a government that listens to the will of the ppl. The last PM didnt listen.
-
Like luckee said... its nice to see a goverment that listens to its people.
90% of people in Spain where and still are against the war.
-
This news is almost 2 months old

errr... no it isn\'t Giga.. they are going to pull them out in the NEXT 15 days no matter what.
ALL OF THEM.
-
Uh ooseven the new Spanish PM announced it the day of his election to office - look at my posts in the thread I linked - IT IS OLD NEWS whether they pull out in May or June... it seems everyone besides you and luckee knew about this turn of events.
-
Yeah, it was expected.

Hey is that your clown in the front seat?!?

The body of a Spanish policeman who participated in the raids on Islamic terrorists and was killed on April 3rd had his body dug up, dragged and burned in Spain - authorities don\'t know by whom... cough cough...
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/04/19/spain.body/index.html
I think the terrorists smell blood in the water as far as Spain is concerned. They know they won a victory by blowing up a few trains and now they are desecrating bodies of those who put their lives on the line to battle terror. I see the choice to pull out of Iraq is making Spain a much safer place.
-
I can\'t see him smiling though... damn! That is cool as hell LOL.

i thought the same thing! ^^^ :p nice avy ace..
anyway it\'s not only spain that\'s pulling out..a few other countries have been contemplating the thought of a pull out from iraq..and even tho their numbers maybe small, it still results in the u.s, having to fill void they leave...on another note some in gov\'t have been thinkin\' bout bringing back the draft!
-
This decision is another electoral statement. Zapatero had to bring them back as he promised to do so before wining the polls. I\'m not with him. Spain is not in Irak fighting but helping in recovering the peace and order as many other countries. If we do not help other countries, those other countries will never help us when needed...
-
so bringing the troops home was this turds campaign promise?
who didnt see that one coming
-
The dirt of politics. This is what kind of pisses me off. All these promises to win votes which hurt the people in the long run.
-
Finally a country with good sense, they should go home, and so should all the other countries. They were lied to by Mr. FagAzz bush, about WMD\'s.
-
Spain is only hurting themselves. By pulling out, they basically are throwing out the welcome mat to terrorists. It is a dumb political move on their part. Now, terrorists will see them as vulnerable and not able to defend their country, and when shit hits the fan, they won\'t be able to react (from a terrorists point of view).

Seriously. I\'m really beginning to wonder this kids age and maturity level. He\'s probably being fed all this liberal view crap at his school and seeing it as truth and to hell with conservative and moderate views.

Why don\'t you have me banned for speaking my mind, freedom of speech is overrated.

^^^naw don\'t ban him..remember this is the youth of america speaking..;)

There is no freedom of speech on a private forum. I guess I will just keep subtracting IQ points from his tally.
-
Actually I just noticed he isn\'t even 14 yet... He\'s a mere 13 years old, not even in high school... Just makes it even more funny that he thinks he is old enough to form opinions on government and politics... I\'m pretty sure all he is doing is probably regurgitating crap he hears from his liberal parents.

What gives you the right to be condescending?
Do you think you have any freedom of speech anywhere in the USA?

How old are you? surely not 18, cause if you are you need to go back to high-school and relearn history.
All you people who think I’m 13 or whatever need to realize that I’m more in tune to the “real world” then all you turds put together.
All you 20 year old wannabe know it all "Patriots" who think that might-is-right will just repeat the past and in the end, the USA will end up like the Roman Empire.
I guess history books were in short supply at your schools huh?
I don’t\' get my views from my parents, i get them through books, and looking at the other side of the conflict instead of through the propaganda filled media that has brainwashed some of you.

What a foul little mouth he has.
Your mother should wash your mouth out with soap little guy. He makes luckee look like a saint.
Do you not know that the media (except for Fox News) is pretty liberal?
-
Do you actually think I’d rely on American Media (brainwashed content) for my news? There is a world out there, peek outside the box GigaWad, and smarten up.
-
Oh you must be watching Al Jazeera - I think you are the one that is brainwashed.
BTW name some media you do rely on...
-
British news
Canadian news
Australian news
French News
German News
What do you rely on? Fox News? Or CNN?
I do look at Al Jazeera, why not? i also look at Israeli news what is your point? Both of them are worth as much as Fox-News by the way, each side is biased.

Way to skirt the issue...
Name the news bureaus that you watch...
The British News
Canadian News
If you truly watched other news you would have named the agencies and not generic country news. You don\'t watch more than NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN.
Al Jazeera is the most slanted anti American news agency out there - no wonder you think like you do. :stick:
CNN and Fox have very different views on politics and the war.
-
you are so stupid and naive, oh my god :)
why should i list the news sources for you? aren\'t you smart enough to guess what they are? Too bad you kept your head in your ass and haven\'t looked outside the country for your news, otherwise you wouldn\'t ask a stupid question like that.
here are a couple for you, if you need more, you can do the right thing and find your own:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/
http://www.cbc.ca/
http://www.dw.org/start
http://www.welt.de/
http://www.lemonde.fr/
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/
why are you laughing at British and Canadian news sources? They have better content than all the American news channels.
-
Like I said, you can look things up after the fact - after all you are on the internet...
All of those organization are relatively mainstream and report pretty much the same news that US stations do. Once again you know as much about todays topics as you do about Vietnam.

see there you go again with your ignorant posts, are you saying these people are getting their news through CNN? or FOX? I doubt very much these people share CNN’s or fill in the blank American news sources views. Why don’t you take an hour a day for the next 30 days and actually expose your brain to something outside the box.
What has this to do with a topic, what are you talking about? You know as much about Vietnam as you do about the Patriot act. Basically you regurgitate some stuff you heard somewhere and then you pretend to own the place.
-
Those news agencies get their news from the same place we get ours for the most part - ever hear of the Associated Press?
This Vietnam comment is relevant - check the other topic - the Double Standard topic - where you showed your true intellect by stating that Richard Nixon got us more involved in the Vietnam War. Did you not say this or are you going to make me post a link to it? Your idiocy astounds me.
Have fun - I am better things to do tonight than debate with a witless pre pube.

.
They might get their news from the same source idiot, but their views and their countries views are not brainwashed, and they present their view on the world, and often offer the other side of a conflict or situation .......

Thank god I wasn\'t that miserable when I was 13.
What kind of 13 year old spends his time watching various news stations from different countries and reads up on history on his free time?
Lastly, your 13 freaking years old, don\'t ever, ever, call somebody naive.

Or from school. Afterall, school is the breeding grounds of liberalism. Like in Kindergarten-like 5th grade. They teach that throwing out an aluminum can is wrong and crap like that.

Just so you know, this site isn\'t an American message board. The owner is Bjorn and he\'s what, Dutch I think? You have to learn that the Internet is its own thing and not the United States and can\'t be controlled by the government but by the owners of the sites and the people that manage the sites (webmasters and whatnot). So, they can restrict what you say. Owned and have a nice day.
-
yes you owned me.. oh boy... wow.

Something you me and Giga had when we were 13 were things called lives. Man, some good times :) I never even worried about politics until 9/11 when I started to watch Fox News (because I\'m conservative) more often.
-
I really doubt he is 13. He sounds too smart. :)

Sviidish! :p

Maybe its their hobby/interest?
And just because a 13 year old is not out smoking weed being all teenage rebel does not mean he does not have a life.. IMO. ;)
Oh and nothing wrong with reading history, I do it when I have free time. :D
Ever heard of: Historia est vitae magistra. (History teaches us about life) ;)

i agree with you fats 100%

You know, even as aggressive as toxical seems to be, being 13 is not an issue really. If they are infact 13.
I know a 12 year old who can completely rebuild transmissions and and change motors in cars. He is also exceptional in engineering and physics.
Age hasn\'t much to do with it if they know what they are talking about.
I won\'t say that this person doesnt sound ignorant in some of his posts from what I have seen, but alot of you do as well when you try to bash them.
Why doesnt everyone just relax?
As for the issue at hand. I think it was an inherent sign of weakness for Spain to pull it\'s troops. I don\'t agree with what we and the rest of the alliance is doing, but they shouldn\'t have shown signs of weakness to the fanatics and the rest of the world for that fact. Now they are even more convinced that bombings are the way to go to get what they perceive to be right.
-
My point is that if your 13 and spend time arguing about politics and government, you have thrown half of your life away.
-
Not if that is what a particular 13 year old likes to do. Most like to play video games, date, etc...etc... at that age. There is the minority though.
-
His age isn\'t the issue here. His behavior is.
-
It is obvious that his age was an issue heer as numerous people have pointed it out, or did you miss that?
But yes, his behavior is an issue just like many others in here including yourself. You think I didn\'t lurk around for a while or read old posts?
-
I was a punk like that at his age, still am. But damn, shut up Toxical, you really don\'t know as much as you think you do.

When you really read all of his threads it wasn\'t the issue. Try reading comprehension.

You should try it as well since it has been mentioned more than once about his age. I guess it is you that needs a little lesson in comprehension.
No one is denying the fact that his behavior wasnt the main issue, or did you not manage to read that either? hey look, I can type a silly emoticon too!! want another one?:jack: what about this one?:whip:

Why dont you answer your own question. You started with me about what the issue was..his age or behavior. Forgot so soon?
Better yet, why dont you just not respond to me period?

seems like you got your hands full there giga,..she\'s a feisty one! ;)
