Okay, I bought Castlevania:SOTN years ago, and my nephew took my game and his sister put markers on the bottom of the disc, so the whole entire disc is filled with marker. My sister said she would buy me a new one, but we went several place and they don\'t sell Castlevania:SOTN. Except some sell them used at amazon and ebay for a crazy price tag that i wouldn\'t buy at all.
So, the game did play but the music kept skipping as if it was recorded in Wav format, and the game crashed on me because it couldn\'t read through the damn marker. Any idea how to get rid of the marker? It looks like it could be crayon, but it marker...
-
take your nephew to judge judy..:p..i seriously don\'t think you can salvage that disc..a shame i have never played it, but heard it\'s a great game..best advice i can give is to get a lightly damp cloth & carefully try to buff out the marker on the disc..that\'s all i can think of..
-
Odd, the most I saw the game for on ebay was 37.99, and that was if you chose the buy now option. Not bad for a such a great game.
-
hmm, i still wouldn\'t want pay that much for it and i don\'t trust Ebay. About 3 years ago, I bought it on Amazon i think New for $14.99.
I wonder if they sell them on Swap Meet. We did go to Swap Meet like two months ago, but I didn\'t get a chance to look at the videogames they sell...fricking brother wouldn\'t want me to check...

disk docotor is your only hope young pad one... your chances are about 50/50 after that if the disk will work at all
-
White-out.
-

-
It resurfaces the plastic you can go to best buy and get one BEST BUY LINK (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1069297113105&skuId=4250036&type=product)
of course its 30 bucks soooooo you might as well buy one unless you know someone with a disk doctor you can borrow
-
hold it over a candle then right before the disc burns or warps the crayon should liquify and you can wipe it off with a paper towel

That kind of reminds me of GAMES saying to put the PS2 in the freezer
-
Put it in the freezer.
-
Use cleaning fluid with alcohol. It usually removes markers.

Unicron (or it\'s spelled Unicorn?),
you are my hero. I will try some sort of rubbing alcohol if i can find one. Most other gave weird answers...put it in freezer...white out....
-
i use lighter fluid to clean my cd\'s
works great
-
If consumer chemicals don\'t work take it to a used CD place that resurfaces scratched CDs. My TTT disc (remember that game) would not load Hwoarang so I bought the $30 game doctor. I used it according to the directions and it actually made the game WORSE. Wouldn\'t even load after that.
Took the same disc to a store with a professional resurfacing machine and it played like new. Was $3.

I try using rubbing alcohol and this is what happen. I feel really stupid and sad. Sad because I am stupid. I remember someone once said something like this, "you sir, just received the dumpest award of the year.":( :(
:crap::crying:
I feel pathetic. Do you guys think people like me deserve to be shot?
How did the disc turn out like this? I took some cotton and put some alcohol in it and wipe the disc. The white spot is the effect of the cotton swab...so i i tried the sock as a cloth and it doesn\'t help either. I fill the disc with alcohol and wipe it some more....i can actually peel the top thin layer off the disc.
Before, the marker make the ps2 hard to read it, now the disc won\'t even spin at all when i put it in the ps2!
I am so pathetic, seeing how mess up the disc is remind me of my sinus pain and schizophrenia...:(
i turn up the brightness on the picture on the right (the backside of the disc) just in case your monitor isn\'t calibrated and this will make it easier to see...
-
moron
use lighter fluid next time
-
Ahm.....WHAT???
I use alcoholic cleaning fluids for my CDs and they are super clean and shine.Use soft cloth.NEVER USE COTTON!
What kind of alcoholic fluid did you use???????
-
Nail polish remover.
-
!
nail polish remover = acetone (solvent)
-
^ Acetone, good for cleaning thermal gel of cpus. :)
You should also use fabric that is lint free.. like silicon cloths.
-
aye, but bad for plastics
:)
-
isopropyl alcohol would have been the best beat.
Acetone, thinners, denatured alchohol etc will KILL cds. They\'re corrosive cleaners.
-
so, who here is ready to shoot me?
-
noone, it\'s your copy you f\'d up
if it was mine? i\'d have to get midevil on that ass
-
