I had planned on getting Magnaflows for the Mach 1, but when I showed up on Saturday morning the shop was closed - so I asked the performance auto store that shares space with them and they said the guys weren\'t coming in today because the were and I quote "getting drunk down at the river". Needless to say I got pretty pissed because I can\'t get there during the week and they knew that so I decided I would skip the exhaust and go with a new soundsystem. I still need to get my $100 deposit back from the exhaust place and I will call on Monday - if they give me a hassle I will dispute the charge on my CC.
I wanted to play my Ipod in my car and I had some money so I bought a Sony F770 Stereo for the Mustang. I had it wired so I could also use my Ipod in the car as well. Here are some pics...
-
Aux Line - the Ipod sits in my cupholder for now, I need to find a nice holder for it.
-
And one of the Mach - just washed and with the windows tinted.
-
That headunit looks great. It must be a new model for Sony; I don\'t remember seeing those about six months ago. Are you satisfied with the sound? Were you able to reuse the external amplifiers from the stock system?
-
Yeah I kept all of the stock speakers and amps... The sound is amazing and best of all I can play my Ipod. The head unit does have the ability to play a CDR full of MP3\'s, but that is what I have the Ipod hook up for. It ended up costing me $400 installed and it does look clean. Core you can take credit for my decision as I remebered what you said about stereo\'s a week or so ago.
-
That was a good investment. I need to do some work on my audio system too.
Here is what I spent some money about two weeks ago. OZ Superleggera wheels (17x7 front and 17x8 rear) and Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires (215/45R17 Front, 245/40R17 Rear). This purchase was a little painful. :( However I needed to replace my rear tires and I didn\'t want to be stuck with 16" stock wheels for another two years. :D

That looks nice Core - It has a classic roadster look.
-
What I would like to do to my car:
get new possibly chrome rims, 5 star design, maybe with the gap in the middle
new head unit. mine is melted. The old owner of the car smoked cigars and well, he melted a lot of the center console  I\'ll post pics later.
New tires. A must. Maybe I\'ll get sporty looking tires.
A dog took a piss in the car (former owner). I still can\'t get the stain out.
Replace the center console plastic. Again, melted (pics later)
repaint front and rear bumpers (pieces of plastic missing and stuff like that)
remove the scratches. That will be fun. There\'s more scratches than paint.
I want to paint my brake calipers yellow. That would be sweet
Get a Mach 1 style hood (saw it in a pic of a Thunderbird like mine)
Get my engine horse power up to atleast 270 (205 right now. 4.6L V8)
I think thats about it. I hope to do all this within the next couple years :)
-
Nice car. You probably don\'t want to hear what I\'ve got to say about the Sony but glad you like your iPod connectivity. ;)
-
nothing like a new car stereo.
GF just bought a LG TCH-600

it was cheap and does a great job. :)

It probably isn\'t his car per se. I don\'t doubt that he has an S2000 but he probably didn\'t take a picture yet. Its probably a picture that a car site or magazine took. Either way, its a nice ride and Core must have fun with it.

I\'m not buying crap for a long long time. Looks like we are going to build a house soon. There goes the fun cash.
-
maybe u could build a fun house... Best of both worlds. :)

That\'s what I drive.....so don\'t feel bad Nicon.

Give yourself more credit, it\'s not turquose, it\'s white.

^^^ Pissed at each other in one thread, ball breaking in another.
Giga as far as sound quality Sony is possibly the worst "name brand" available. They spend more R&D on fancy gimmicks & looks rather than good DACs and build quality.
I did some research and your Sony may be the best deal for you. Alpine & Pioneers in your price range unfortunately require a seperate adapter to input an auxiliary source. Sony included it with their new models. If you\'re happy then that\'s all that matters. I love the sound that comes out of my Alpine but it\'s a b*tch to tweak the audio.

Actually that is my car. I\'ll take this as a compliment of my photography! It\'s an 03, and I bought it in November 2002, so I have a few pics from different places. I live in Los Angeles, and that was taken on Decker Canyon Rd in Malibu the same day I installed the new wheels.
I want to see more pics of Giga\'s Mach. :)

That is one SEXY ride...
Too bad is a Ford...
But then again, the Mach1 and the Cobra are the only good Mustangs...

That is your photograph!?!?!? That is damn good - something I would expect to see in MotorTrend.
I have another couple of pictures at home that I will post tonight. Not as good of quality or scenery as yours though ;)
Can you post a picture of the interior of your car Core?

You are exactly right - I wanted an Alpine, but it did\'t have an aux source so I had to go with the Sony. Considering I didn\'t upgrade my stock amps I suppose it will suit my needs for now.

We\'re family, what do you expect? Oh, and yes my car is white, not turquois, although I\'d pimp out a turquois car :nerd: .
-
Oh haha I thought he meant to say you drove that rust-ridden 4x4 in the background.
-
Core - Ace, does the California Duster work on ridding pollen from your car? My car sits in the garage all week and by Friday there is a nice layer of pollen on the car and short of washing it, I would like another alternative.
-
The other 2 cars in my driveway -
The Jetta is my daily driver and the Pontiac is my wifes car.
-
Woah, is that a Vibe? Hah ha are those any fun? I always sort of liked those cars, although I would have purchased a Matrix instead of the Vibe. I don\'t like that plastic cladding on the body panels.
Anyway, I think the California Duster (or whatever it\'s called) would remove particles as small as pollen. I\'m pretty sure it\'s designed for that. I don\'t have one of those but I should probably get one. I leave my car parked outside with a weathershield cover, and even when I leave it uncovered for two days over the weekend, it gets coated with a layer of pollution. I have to wash it every 2 weeks at a minimum.
-
Giga,
I have a duster and I like it. When it gets hot around here a lot of times I will cover my car and right before I do I take out the duster and give it a wipe. I only use it if the car is clean and there is either dust or pollen on the car. Works great and it works better as it gets dirtier. How can you beat that? :)
By the way, the pollen sucks around here too. It gets way into my rag top where it goes into the car in the back. It\'s a real pain to keep it clean.
-
Thanks forum auto experts...
Core - yes it is a Vibe, though I wish we would have bought the GT version with more hp. 130HP is really weak, maybe I convince her to buy the supercharger which would bump the hp up to 186 or so. It is a fun little car and it is surprisingly roomy. I keep the outside looking good, but she junks up the inside so much I hate to ride in it. :(

I\'m not sure if you guys are familiar with this baby.

I bought myself one a while back and I can\'t live without it. I thought it was so good I even bought my father one. The Absorber rules!

I think the recent flood of car threads is just a subtle way of telling the admins you want a car forum...
-
How did you know ;)
-
Another picture...
-
Let me have your Jetta.
-
Where\'s the inevitable minivan?
-
He keeps posting pics of his Mach to make me feel inferior. :P
-
No minivan... My dad did just buy a new GTO though...
-
When you get a chance to drive the GTO give your impressions.
-
Unfortunately it won\'t be anytime soon. And I thought I babied the Mustang. ;)
