I\'m sure you guys have heard this already...
AMHERST, Mass. -- A University of Massachusetts student has openly criticized Pat Tillman, calling the former NFL player a Rambo-like idiot in the school paper.
The column in question was submitted by graduate student Rene Gonzalez and published Wednesday in the Daily Collegian. It was titled "Pat Tillman is not a hero: he got what was coming to him."
Gonzalez writes that Tillman was a "Rambo" who probably acted out of "nationalist patriotic fantasies." In his own neighborhood in Puerto Rico, according to Gonzalez, Tillman would not have been considered a hero, but a "pendejo," or idiot.

What a real heartless prick.

This kid needs to be brought into Iraq and go into combat and see how "idiotic" these guys are.

I would have expected a grad student to have picked a more sophisticated title than "Pat Tillman is not a hero: he got what was coming to him."  It sounds like a 9th grader wrote that.
Anyway, I guess its the cool thing to do... bash our soldiers now - especially one who has received so much press for being so selfless.  I really shouldn\'t be surprised due to the ideology that is being taught in our universities.
"I guess someone with a bigger gun did him in"!?!?!?!  What a scholar!  Now I know why some companies are outsourcing.

Heh.. what would you expect from a Massachusetts college student?
When I first started reading it, I was thinking "This guy must be from Harvard or something" and then boom.. it ends up that he\'s going to UMASS. He\'s probably still trying to rally votes for Kucinich..

HEY don\'t bring Kucinich into this.  :surprised :p
I didn\'t bother to read the article because this "grad student" is obviously an idiot.
However, I saw a picture of Tillman in Time magazine, and I\'ve got to admit that the guy looked like a cross between Sgt. Rock and Fabio.  I mean he looked like an action movie hero.  It was really disturbing for me to see pictures of that guy.  You don\'t expect someone like that to buy the farm.  :(

didn\'t read the article..the title alone makes me know this guy\'s an idiot...but i have heard of how tillman\'s death undermines the death\'s of soldiers who were just ordinary cats that\'s served in the military...just because he turmed down a multimillion dollar contract to fight in the war is the reason why he\'s gotten so much publicity...so one might say what about james from around the way who left his wife & kids to fight in the war?..why no special coverage of that?
in no way am i criticizing what tillman did or has done..i felt he paid the ultimate price for how he felt in his heart for his country and respect him for it..i was just pointing out how some have perceived his coverage of being in the war..

You\'re thinking of UMASS Dartmouth. Damn Hippies.
UMASS Amherst is a freaking wigged out party school. The Scooby Doo gang is based on colleges in that area and Scooby(or is it Shaggy) represented UMASS-Amherst. Take from that what you will.

That kid seriously needs some attitude adjustment. Tillman isn\'t the only hero for these campaigns that our military is in but I feel every soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan are heros. But what makes Tillman\'s story so heroic is that his NFL career was on a fast track, he was being offered all this money and opportunities for football but we went to war and he decided to give all that up to fight a war for his country and preserve the freedom of America and help pass on some freedom to others in countries where they were oppressed. Tillman\'s act was the most selfless thing I\'ve heard of in the past few months. But he isn\'t the only one that gave up a life for their country. There are others that had fast paced careers and decided to put their country before it. I salute all those heros.
