Simple thread... kind of inspired by the Kill Bill thread what with all the mm bashing ;).
Anyway just list the film or films that you liked but no-one else did.
Come on don\'t worry we are not here to judge.
1) Signs....
Love the film
Watching it right now [sp]at the bit where the brother see\'s the video footage of the invader, caught on tape at the mexican\'s kids birthday party...God that still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up... even though its a tall guy in a rubber suit [/sp].
2) Cable Guy
Still makes me laugh ... just a shame it didn\'t do so well at the box office though. the "waterwolrd quote" still makes me LOL.
3) Tomb Raider...
Would say i loved ..would more say its a mindless fun when your half drunk and you don\'t really care about plot.
-
Black Mask (Jet Li) - created some weird aura throughout the whole movie, felt like I was in a dream. Not Jet Li\'s best but I like watching it.
The 13th Floor - Same idea as the Matrix but never gained popularity
The Cell - had J.Lo but cool imagery
About Schmidt - I like the every man movie but this just got mediocre ratings (also watch American Splendor, Punch Drunk Love, About a Boy..)
Vanilla Sky - Movie snobs rave over the original Spanish version but I like Cruise\'s version just fine.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? - Ties with Seven Samurai as my favorite movie of all time. Don\'t ask me why, I don\'t know either.
-
Id have to agree with all of ooseven\'s
Mortal Kombat 2
The Borne Identity
Stir of Echos
Mario Bros.
Final Fantasy: TSW
Bill and Ted movies
is it me or did it seem like not too many people liked the Fifth Element?
Cant really think:(
Just reminded: Black mask & Vanilla sky :p

-
Wow, haven\'t seen Naked Lunch in a looooong time.
P.S. I thought Kung Pow was funny as hell. But you know, I loved Baseketball
-
Damn. SO many movies i missed already.
Ill stop w/ the me-too crap but Kung Pow was some pretty funny s#!t.

They Live
Night of the Comet
-
There\'s a lot to list for me, the biggest that will kill everyone here is in the top spot though --
1. Daredevil
2. Just about any Michael Bay\\Jerry Bruckheimer movie save for Pearl Harbor (I only half like that one).
3. Superman the movie
4. Hellboy
5. The Thomas Crown Affair (2001)
6. Robocop (uncut)
-- I\'ll think of more later.

The Beach
I always dreamed of living like that... Going to an island, living life with people I know and we each have our own daily task, and once thats done you chill. Also, they smoked a lot.
-
The Legend of Zu (the new one). It was never released in America (it was supposed to), so I had to import it from Korea. I think it\'s damn cool...

Donnie Darko - Just a really, really good movie
Stargate
Final Fantasy: TSW
The Skulls
Patriot Games (The whole Jack Ryan Series)
Devil\'s Advocate
The New Guy/Baseketball (Mindless funnies)
Thomas Crown Affair
Hackers
Ronin
Heat
Punchdrunk Love - make sure you watch it with a good subwoofer
-
ERASERHEAD!
Where the boys aren\'t #13 (everyone missed that one, but is a cinema masterpiece.)
-
Detroit Rock City
-
Love how this turned into "films you liked but no-one else did" to "films everyone likes".
:)
-
Minority Report
The Sum of All Fears
Any Given Sunday
Thats what I can think of off the top of my head. I tend to like movies that are so bad they are good(not including the ones above, which aren\'t that bad).

Not for my list. Show me one other person, aside from Rya, aside from a big comic book fan (though those hated it as well), who actually liked Daredevil and I\'ll PM you a nudie asian picture.

People liked Unbreakable?

Ronin had one of the best if not the best car chases ever.

Who didn\'t like Superman and Robocop?
The same people who thought Superman II was a better film.

(1) I liked Daredevil, I just did not like Elecktra - therefor, PM or E-mail me my picture.
(2) Superman is highly acclaimed, damnit.
-

Dude, I think I saw that on Sci-Fi. They used flamethrowers to kill them right? And they came from wood from South America?
-
yup, it was so horribly made, it was just funny.
Here they are, standing on the side of a river, ants everywhere. But instead of just stepping into the river where the ants can\'t go they use the flamethrower, which eventually runs out, causing them to panic even more!
or the scene in which they blow up the huge dike with just three sticks of tnt!
-
Donnie Darko - good flick and its being rereleased in theaters because of its DVD popularity.
-
Predator 2

Isn\'t that contradicting the thread title?
-
Not really considering it only grossed $500,000 in theaters. So no it wasn\'t popular.

*slaps forehead*
Just because it didn\'t do well in theaters doesn\'t mean people didn\'t like it, especially considering the DVD sold well.
-
Highly popular does not go along with liked.
My two cents, due to the fact it may not be huge hit money wise, due to a limited release.
-
Considering I saw it in the theatre and not many others did, I would assume no one else liked it and/or had an interest in it. It has more of a cult following in DVD anyway - not like its a mainstream film. So yes my statement would be correct - the public in general did not like/appreciate this film.
Why are you arguing Donnie Darko when you have someone posting Highlander a few posts up ;)

Highlander is the stupidest movie that I actually enjoyed. The movie was like a train wreck of a story line. :p Critics hated it like a cold sore on their wedding day! :p
-
Here is my list. I would say most of you all hate these if you have heard of some of them. I dig them quite a bit though.
Children of the Living Dead.
Brain Damage
Head of the Family
Postman
Waterworld
Assasins
Cabin Boy
American Werewolf in Paris
Suicide Kings
Vampire in Brooklyn
The Dead Hate the Living
Castle Freak
Martin
City of the Lost Children
The Dentist
Tales from the Hood
Return of the Living Dead 1 and 2
-
Waterworld
Now that falls into the correct catergory.
And for the record Giga - I loved Donnie Darko and look forward to the new extended edition due out soon

Is that the movie about those wannabe actors kidnapping some famous woman and making her star in their movie??? If so then that was a good one *shrugs*
As far as girly movies, Id say that a few julia roberts movies were ok: Runaway Bride & Notting Hill, (she was in milk money right? Didnt really like it but i was curious).
Waterworld was decent too.
Black Knight
Paycheck
-
I\'ve got the worse movie of all time and I actually remeber liking it...
Brain Smasher... A Love Story
-
At least your sig is funny.
That makes up for about 1/100ths of how gay your movie is.
