Title: Your dream PC?
Post by: soundifound on May 09, 2004, 02:51:19 PM
if money wasn\'t a factor, what would your dream PC be/have?

All of the best parts. If we\'re going to get specific though, personally I\'d pick the best AMD processor/mobo combo and probably the best ATi video card. Intel has been too shaky, and ATi will be faster at HL2.

- dual CPUs
- sh*tload of ram
- 15 ballion Seagate Harddrives in RAID 0+1
- OS wouldn\'t be on a HD but one of those uber expensive oversized flash drives (no moving parts)
- Overpriced Sony Artisan 21" CRT
- ZalmanHeatpipe case (Link 1 (http://www.quietpcusa.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=8&Product_ID=121&CATID=9) | Link 2 (http://www.voodoopc.com/systems/f50.aspx))
- 56k modem with V.90 technology :sconf:

I\'m in the process of building it - it\'s not my super-dream PC, but it\'s damn close enough.

Amd 64 3400
Chaintech ZN2F-150 MB
2 Gigs of Kingston HyperX Series Dual Kits 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3700
2 160 SATA Seagate drives in RAID O
2 Western Digital SATA 250 gig Drive\'s
Plextor 708A DVD-R/CD-RW
Thermaltake Hardcano 12
Audigsy ZS Plantium
Sony Floppy ( :D)

Un-decided on which next generation videocard, so far.

That\'s the specs - and it\'ll be finished sometime next month.

Well, computer is improving all the time...so my dream computer will be obsolete in 10 years.

But anyway here it is:

10 Ghz AMD
2 Gbytes of RDRAM each making it a total of 6 Gbytes
5 Terabytes (trillion of bytes) HDD.
USB 3 ports
Firewire 3 ports
Top of the line graphic card with HDMI connection.
I like my Soundblaster Audigy 2, 6.1 ch soundcard already...maybe a soundcard that peform as good as Audigy 2 that can decode SACD too and future high resolution audio...

I guess it\'s simply to much to ask around here for people to actually post specs, other than "10 GHZ AMD" and that nonsense.
