The supply is very limited.
You\'ll be very lucky to get a copy of Prologue - 05-12-04 @ 5:55 PM
I was advised today that copies of Prologue will be limited to 1 or 2 per store in the UK!!!
Tried to pre-order from Game and they are not accepting pre-orders and say that the couple of copies they have will be on a first come first serve basis.
When I mentioned that the game can be ordered from the net, I was told that websites such as Amazon who are advertising the game won\'t be able to fulfill their orders and simply don\'t realise that they won\'t get many copies to sell.
Apparently they are going to be like gold-dust and it\'s not just a marketing gimmick, they really are only going to print a very limited run.
I was told this is to prevent it stopping people buying the full version later in the year.
This is really worrying. I\'m tempted to order from 3 or 4 places just to be safe, but then I might end up with 3 or 4 copies!
That\'ll be fine if I can sell them on I guess.
So are we all looking forward to a game that most of us won\'t even be able to get our hands on?
We\'ll be seeing them on Ebay for £100.00 each I reckon!

I\'ve got it :D well the Chinese version, but is it worth shelling out for the PAL version with extra bonus DVD which will probably be uploaded somewhere to download?

PAL version will include European cars... I think.. I read it somewhere at least.
(prays for Volvo 740! :D )
But yeah, the extra DVD will probably be ripped and put up on some Bittorrent sites. ;)

there is still no official word on cars for the final GT4 release, only to say that some of the most rumoured cars that are likely to be in the mix are Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini...should be good, i personally cant wait to get my hands on the Countach Anniversary model...
anyway GT4Pro is out this week in the UK, i have got mine pre-ordered..

no idea, but if they are anything like the concept SUVs in GTC then i will be dissapointed, SUVs are only good for two things, eating petrol and polluting at a terrible rate..

The Mclaren is awsome, my favourite car in the game. It\'s so fast especially around the Fuji track.

I did not find the video of the older cars, but Im 100% I saw them. I\'ll try to locate them later, the movie does not have any chapters so you have to fast forward through the whole thing, I might have missed them.
Ill pop it into a DVD later so I can do a time search.

The US isn\'t getting Prologue. But I\'ve read that IGN will have the video up (or segments) in the cars section of the site, where they have a good article up about the game now.

I dont see why Lamborghini wont be in GT4. It might not be in the prologue but it was in GT3 A-spec. It was in the Jap and American versions and in the PAL version if you unlocked it with a Sharkport.

The Lambo is in the US version of GT3 but you need one of those cheat discs to make it drivable.

yes, i am sure..i have some UK online gamer friends that have it.
i dont have a sharkport so i am guessing here but i think you have to download the file and save it in your garage file. Once you load that into your memory card you\'ll have the Lambo.
either that or its a Lambo hybrid.
it isnt actually part of the pal game as such but you can get it along with the Lancia Stratos, Porsche 911 Turbo (not RUF) and a few others.
you\'ll need a sharkport/x-port...

Got mine yesterday,that Italy track is bullshit skinny.
I love the grand canyon rally track,looks awesome.The rally feels a little harder on Prologue,but only raced it with EVO. Might be easier with the rally Lancer.

Race it with a NSX ... talk about adrenaline pumping swoshing by the houses at 150 km/h.
Other then the Italian track I really, really like the Fuji Speedway.
Yeah, the rally feels a lot different, I\'m having more fun with it racing without the driving aid (then you can talk about drifting).
GT4 cant come soon enough.

I gave Grand Canyon a go with the Rally Subaru and it was still a lot harder than GT3,you really have to use the hand brake.
I will give the Italy track a go with the NSX today.
Still haven\'t finished the school yet,are you guys getting all golds before you move on or are you going to come back and upgrade them to gold after you are done?
Just curious cause I\'ve only got about 10 golds with about 10 lessons to go.(mostly silvers)

Hmm, I just had a go with the weird little Toyota that only has one (?) gear, its pretty damn fast though.
Also the McLaren F1 is great! More cars like that plis. :)

Weak :p you should never use the hand brake, it slows you down to much, use the cars weight to glide it round the corners while feathering the throttle to keep it in shape for a good exit speed.

Fastson: With the racing NSX (Takada?) on the Italy track I got a 1:36:??? I can\'t remember the last three numbers.But just so I know how bad I suck at this game could you have a few go\'s at it and let me know what you get?

I bought is last week. IMO the build seems kinda buggy (I didn\'t read this thread so I don\'t know if its been mentioned already). During replays, particularily on Citta D Aria, there is some noticeable slowdown, of which I have never encounted in any other GT game.
There is also no 60 htz mode, which makes me downright pissed. During the car win sequence there are big black bars and the compositing between the background and the car doesn\'t look right.
Also, graphics don\'t seem to be improved over GT3. Maybe alittle touch here and there but nothing that stands out over GT3.
I LOVE the new physics engine though. Trying to keep the car undercontrol on the Grand Canyon track is awesome, and you can actually totally spin out, something I found had to do in GT3.
Its an old build so hopefully its all fixed (no doubt it will be) by GT4.

There is no need for a 60Hz mode if the game is a prefect port, like GT3 and hopefully GT4.
50Hz = Higher res but same speed as 60Hz if done right (games done right are: The Jak games, GT games etc. The not done right games are DMC, FFX and so on).
The win car thingy I didn’t notice, but now when you mention it. Its probably due to them not wanting to re-animate everything for the PAL release, Im pretty sure they will fix it in the final version of GT4.

51.013 on the Tsukubu circuit using the Mclaren F1 GTR :D
I recommend trying the grand canyon circuit with the Ford GT (all driving aids disabled) :eek:

On my first go, 2nd lap I was like 0.3 seconds from beating you.
Then it got worse, and even worse.. The best I got so far is 51:139 :evil:
Im too tired, I will return tomorrow. :whip:
I got to study the track in my sleep, the last curve is a tricky one.

It is certainly beatable, I did make a few mistakes such as braking too late into the first corner and drifting a bit wide. The corner before the long back straight is difficult too because you have to wait ages before you can get the power down. The final corner is difficult to judge also because you approach it at very fast speeds and its difficult to judge how much to slow down. Too fast and you run wide onto the grass totally ruining the lap. :)

Yeah, that last turn is a bugger, seems like there\'s a little bump in the suface which gives the car understeer. I\'ll post my times for this little challenge later this week :D

Well I haven\'t had much time to play but had a couple goes of Grand Canyon rally but I could only get a 2:29:???. You must be some kind of rally king to get 2:21:795.
