No CD label, no radio promo....

File sharing has introduced me to so many new bands its not even funny.
Im sure anyone who uses Kazaa etc. is the same way.
-
For all the crap you hear about how file sharing is hurting super MEGA-RICH already bands like Metallica, there are 2,000 bands who would have never had any success without it.

Just so you know, metallica stated that they were doing it for the small bands.
Those small bands could not have afforded a big time lawyer like metallica did.

Yes that\'s right doing it for the small bands. That\'s why they were suing ONLY THOSE who were making Metallica songs available for download through Kazaa. I didn\'t see one news article of Metallica\'s lawyers protecting smaller bands.
They (Dr. Dre was in on this too) were acting selfish and scared, plain & simple.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
Linkin Park got famous through file sharing, and now look at them. They had the #1 selling album in 2001.

As much as I hate Linkin Park, its true.
They are quite popular.

If you believe that I got a bridge to sell ya.

The file sharing has born with the same problems the radio did. At the beginning, singers thought that it was the end of their careers... that nobody would buy a single disc since they could listen to the radio... but we all know that the radio was and is nowadays BASIC for the music industry. Now they see file sharing as the devil... and it is not.

I\'m sure someone could research this but did most of the world have record players or radios first?

Radio didn\'t come around until what, the late 20s? I would assume primitive records came out first.

Yup.
