Title: Worst Movie thread
Post by: cloud345 on May 26, 2004, 02:37:18 PM
I was reading through the pitch black thread and so how some people thought it was the worst movie ever. it got me thinking what other movies could be the worst movie ever.

I gotta go with House of 1000 corpses. I firmly suggest that if you have not seen this movie that you should never see it ever, unless you want to see a comedy. There were so many parts of that movie that were obviously supposed to be taken seriously that I just started cracking up at. The worst scene in that movie was when the police came to the house. They killed the first on and then when Rob Zombie had the gun to the second\'s head it started zooming out. It zoomed out for like 5 min until he finally pulled the trigger. I honestly thought it was the end of the movie, then it went to another scene. So i started laughing. It was also playing the stupidest music to go with the scene I have ever heard,

To prevent this from ever happening,

IDIOTS SHOULD NEVER MAKE MOVIES!

Most film buffs agree Plan 9 From Outer Space by director Ed Wood is the worst movie ever created, in every aspect.

Go watch the movie Ed Wood by Tim Burton if you get lucky enough to get your hands on a copy.

Man on the Moon? Why do people hate this movie so much?

I\'ve seen it on Comedy Central and I thought it gave a nice look at what Kaufman was all about.

Probably not the worst, but I loathed Hellboy.

Spice World has to be the worst movie I\'ve ever sat through and watched.

I don\'t want to turn this into a \'movie debate\', but I have to say that "Dawn of the Dead" rocked.

Post by: square_marker on May 26, 2004, 07:23:01 PM
the remake of it?

Maybe it was just because I was going into it thinking I was going to be scared crapless and realized it was more or less a movie that had a bunch of senseless killing, boobies, and cheesey jokes.

Killing and boobies are always a plus on my list.

Hellboy = No killing, no boobies (I\'ve got more tits than Selma Blair), and cheesey jokes on top of more cheesey jokes.

Glitter and Gigli (though I know no one who has seen either, including myself) are regarded as pretty horrible.

As for movies I have seen that are right up there with a lot of the suckage in this thread, at least one vote has to go to Wing Commander.

^^i\'d figured that..how much mass destruction can you put in a movie before it all calms down & you just have people wading through water for survival...point is after all the special effects of the initial destruction what do you have left?

Your not a comedy guy are you?

I just saw The Day after tommorow tonight and I didnt think it was that bad, there were a few bad spots here and there but I must say it definetley shouldnt be on the list. It also got 2.5 stars out of 4 and any movie on this list must be held to at most 1 star.

Day After Tomorrow was crap.  Every piece of worthwhile devestation, which is the whole point of seeing this movie, was over with inside of about the first 45 minutes to an hour.  Not only that, but all the devestation caused was covered in the trailers making it all that much more unsurprising and lacked that whole "wow" effect it\'s supposed to have.

I\'m tired of seeing entire films in trailers.

All of this coupled with terrible acting (no one seemed comfortable with their characters ever) and the total lack of humanity displayed in the film (how can I focus on the tragedy of mankind when no one even mentions the amount of people lost in each devastating disaster) and we\'re left to focus on 5 people we don\'t care about in a library and one of the kid\'s fathers.  This is why, as a disaster movie and a fight to save humanity, Armageddon, though filled with flaws, will always be the best disaster movie.  No film captures the human spirit and need to survive better then Armageddon even though it\'s filled with more cliches and corny shots that riddle every disaster picture anyone has ever seen.

Movies I\'ve wasted money on:

Cabin Fever
House of 1000 Corpses(seems to be popular)
Friday After Next
House of the Dead
Mortal Kombat(the 2nd movie)--This movie has got to be the worst thing since Power Rangers were first introduced.  The story was lame, the fighting was dumb, and it seemed like it was made too fast.  Oh but there\'s good news another MK movie is coming out.  I think the 1st one was pretty good tho\'.

The Day After Tommorow is mediocare, but not horrible. Yes the acting and script was pure crap, but somehow it was saved by a few good scenes.

The wife in the hospital was horrible and so cheesey. The political messages were way to obvious.

Yeah, it is a good concept, good special effects.  But other then that crappy. it coulda been so much better, but it wasnt horrible.

It was a diaster movie, what did you people expect? I paid to see cities leveled and I saw that - therefor I\'m happy. I could care less about the characters in a film like that. I just wanted to see mass destruction and decent CG, which the film delivered on both accounts.

I wouldnt say its horrible but this movie for some odd reason makes me sick to my stomach. Not only that but it hurts my damn eyes. Didnt really enjoy it, but im sure you could tell.

As far as disaster movies, when i was a kid they used to freak me out sometimes because i would always think that it was going to happen. I wasnt terrified, just kinda shaken (for the lack of a better word). Like a volcano is going to pop up in the middle of chicago...or at least i hope not. :p

I think im actually the only person that liked the second one. When i first saw it, i think i liked it more than the first. Looking back on the two i wouldnt really say one was better than the other but the bottom line is that i enjoyed them both.

Anybody remember Street Fighter: The Movie? Guile was played by that frenchie, Jean Claude Van Dam.

That has to be the worst videogame to movie transition ever. Even Super Mario Bros. was better.

Which \'Captain America\'? The live action serial or the Matt Sillnger one?

Be specfic, please, as they all sucked .

I own a lot of DVD\'s and after watching Battle Royale 2, I can safely say it is one of my worst. There is not one single redeeming factor about the movie.

Yeah i know, but it could have been one of the best movies of the year if they spent time on the characters and the dialogue.
