Having seen all the LoTR movies and read the first book, I wasn\'t very impressed with Gandalf\'s powers...not when compared to Dumbledore anyway.

Harry Potter books 1-4, you hear how powerful Dumbledore is, supposedly the greatest wizard in the world, and in book 5 you finally get to read about him in action.  The man seems to be damn near invincible and has some awesome power.

Dumbledore > Gandalf

If you read the LOTR & the Silmarillion, you will realize that Gandalf was sent by the gods & walked middle earth for 300 lives of men, and they left out a bunch of stuff he did in the books for the movies. Plus, dumbledore Could not have reawakened the former courage & greatness of men... He probably would have made some candles float around or some shit... wussy shit.

  Gandalf is the shit.  He\'d kick Dumbledore\'s ass hands down!  Besides, even if Dumbledore killed Gandalf, hed just  come back to life as a higher power wizard and beat the livin shiat outta Dumbledore.

Somewhat, in regards to the evil leader. But the rest is different. Her version of trolls are more fairytale-like compared to the trolls Tolkien described. i never read one but id be kind of ticked off to hear a spoiler. especially since reading takes longer than watching a movie,lol. think uv done that twice for harry potter. surprised noone here\'s gone on a rampage unless ur bs\'ing.

i swear we had someone here that waited in line over night for a harry potter book
