They suck. I had the displeasure of see\'ing their new video / single on MTV and it just reminded me of bad STP/ G\'NR.

I\'ve heard the entire CD, maybe 3 good songs.  Go with Audioslave instead.

velevet revolver is most of Guns-n-roses with Scott Weiland from STP singing... Arguably GNR were one of the greatest cheese-rock bands of all time...but I\'m not impressed with what little I heard of VR so far...

Their single\'s getting quite some airplay here on Dutch radio. It\'s an OK song i guess. MTV.com had their album on TL. It sounded pretty much as a buncha STP b-sides to me.

....on the other hand ;

To the 5 Boroughs from the Beastie Boys sounded kinda bland on that 64k streaming TL too. But I got the cd album yesterday and it \'s absolutely much better on my CD player and after a few listen throughs.  I definately recommend it for those who want old school hiphop and agree with or don\'t mind the political message. :thepimp:

I think I\'m the only 17 year old who really can\'t stand the Beastie Boys at all...

Heck, even Linkin Park > Beastie Boys.
Title: Velvet Revolver?
Post by: Knotter8 on June 18, 2004, 12:33:46 PM
Imo we should all just acknowledge that ;

 - Scott Weiland is ( trying to ? ) stay clean and contribute musically again.

- Beastie Boys at least put out an honest opinion, wether you agree with it or not, through their music with rapskills which they obviously have refined even more.

Both things are at least 2 things constructive happening to the world. It\'s reaaaaally just too easy to add another one of the many negative things out in this world, even if it is through a simple dis on the Beasties.:o

Swifdi, Your opinions dont really count, since afterall, your musical preferences just basically sucked.

Anyway.

Velvet Revolver is a joke. Stick to STP.
Title: Velvet Revolver?
Post by: unfocused on June 18, 2004, 08:54:34 PM
STP while Weiland was on drugs> While Weiland was getting through Rehab.

btw...for those who don\'t know who Audioslave is...its basically Rage Against the Machine with a new lead singer.  Hes from Sound Garden or something I can\'t remember his name.

Audioslave is crap.

So is Velvet Revolver.

Too bad too, because I liked all the bands they originally came from.

You\'re crap Tony :)
Title: Velvet Revolver?
Post by: kopking on June 20, 2004, 03:51:28 AM
yeah, they are hardly rage against the machine, ok they have the same band members minus the singer, but they said kinda the same, but where they have a new singer, there not the same, they sound so different, plus the  message they give out is no way like rages!!!!!

i wish sound garden and rage against the machine where both still about, and audioslave never existed
Title: Velvet Revolver?
Post by: theomen on June 20, 2004, 09:42:32 PM
Beastie Boys pre comeback = good, post combeack = bad

They haven\'t refined their sound or evolved in the past 15 years, their image and music was based on teen angst and being rebels against society, yet they are now complete conformists.  If nothing else, their latest single is painfuly bad, and I do mean that listening to it causes me mild discomfort.

Audioslave sucks when in comparision to Rage.

Audioslave in my opinion isn\'t bad, but compared to Rage, there is no comparison. Who is in Audioslave that was in another band? I heard who it was but don\'t remember.
Title: Velvet Revolver?
Post by: unfocused on June 21, 2004, 11:13:03 AM
I didn\'t say Audioslave was as good as Rage, but they do have a good sound compared to a lot of these shitty bands that are manufactured every day like New Found Glory and shit like that.

As for your question Titan, the lead singer of Audioslave was the lead singer of Sound Garden, Chris Cornell.  I just had a huge argument with a co-worker the other day about Rage Against the Machine.  He said they didn\'t have any talent.  He said they had tactical skill but no talent.  I have retarded co-workers.

Rage=teh sh*t. I listen to them while I drive. Very good band and I usually don\'t listen to metal.

The hardest thing to do is get a stubborn person to listen to Rage for the first time.

Easy for me. I had a friend who listens to Christian rock. Put her in my car and I blasted Rage. Twas great fun. She was like "This music sucks". I told her "Rage rocks, your Christian crap sucks a big one". I love Rage :)

Chris Cornell is ok on Audioslave imo. At parts he reminds me of John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. But Imo Fogerty is the better singer.

Yes RATM was a very good band, although i think their last album was kinda weak.

btw. I just came home from the Metallica concert here in Amsterdam. They where very good, sounding tight, having lotsa fun and the solo\'s where nice too. Pre-show guests where Korn and Slipknot. They did ok. :thepimp:

Titan: Rage isn\'t metal, it\'s rock

Knotter: Rage\'s last album was all covers, thus the slightly different sound.  I still liked it.
