I\'ve been converting mp3\'s into mp3pro and it cuts the file size to about 50% and I really don\'t hear any difference. I\'ve tried playing the mp3 version and the mp3pro version back to back, and can\'t hear a diff, anyone use this, if so what do you think of it?

What soundcard, and what speakers are you using. Also waht is the software program that you to playback the files?
-
Sound Blaster Audigy X, Altec speakers (only 3.1) and using MusicMatch 8.2 pro

I think it sounds more "electronic" to me. It\'s taking out even more information from an already compressed file.. if you had headphones you could probably hear the difference but if it sounds good to you more power to ya.

well I\'m putting some mp3pro files in my mp3 player, so I\'ll test them out tonight with headphones and such.

You must be tone deaf.

If MM came out with this a couple years back it would have been more successful, but now you can get a HD at less than a $1 per gig so people can now focus more on quality rather than space saving.
I can still see 56k\'ers benefitting from this though, know wut im sayin?

I was thinking it would be a good gimmick for the portable market, but even there most people have atleast 5gb of memory on their portable mp3players.
