Rest in peace Marlon Brando.
-
What a pity.
-
That is unfortunate. I don\'t even know of any movies he was in (mental block). I\'ve seen clips on shows and stuff and he was great. I\'ll have to check some of his movies out.
-
Damn :(
80 years old though.

Seriously? Godfather??? Ring a bell??? He was in tons of other movies too. The man became fat at old age and that kind of diminished his hotness, for the ladies.

He was Durell, the father of Superman also.

That\'s the one that was in my mind. For some reason couldn\'t remember :)

He was in "The Score" co-starring with Robert DiNero and Edward Norton.

Dude was a PIMP in Godfather.
R.I.P is right.

Has anyone seen the great Arthur Penn classic The Chase? Absolutely stunning, with Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, and Brando playing the sheriff.
I also recommend the first version of Mutiny on the Bounty in which Brando played Mr. Christain against Trevor Howard\'s Capt. Bligh. The Ugly American was released one year later in 1963, with Brando playing the disillusioned ambassador to a fictitious southeast asian nation beginnning the process of a communist revolution.
There was a brilliant film released in the US in 1969 as Burn! which told the story of 19th century native uprising on a caribbean island, and the British government\'s effort to first support it against the Portuguese, and then destroy it.
Of course one cannot forget Apocalypse Now from 1979. Brando was the only actor with the frightening stature and intellect to make the character of Colonel Kurtz work in that story.

is weird someoe like that dieing, didnt realise he was so old though. rip

meh, he was over-rated. He was no Vin Diesel!

Apocalypse Now was a great roll for him. I also liked Streetcar Named Desire.
-
I only saw him in the Godfather didn\'t really know him that much.
-
What DUMBASS just said "Durrell" father of Superman? It\'s Jor-El, father of Kal-El, for god sakes.
-

Once you\'re done kicking in Titan\'s teeth, let me do the same to you for such an egregious comment.

That comment crosses the line. Titan said absolutely nothing wrong and you write that? You seriously have issues.

He thinks he\'s funny. What would be funny is if I stuck his head in a blender..
RIP Marlon! I loved him in On The Waterfront and The Godfather among others.

he was also into Amateur Radio (ham radio). here is the article from the ARRL website:
One of the best-known names in cinematic as well as Amateur Radio circles, actor Marlon Brando, died in Los Angeles July 1 at age 80. Known to hams worldwide as KE6PZH and FO5GJ, Brando is listed on the FCC database as Martin Brandeaux. He was on the air occasionally through the years with his FO5 call sign from his private island in French Polynesia.
In an interview with Larry King on CNN in 1994, Brando confirmed his continued interest in Amateur Radio. In response to a caller\'s question, he said ham radio provided him with the opportunity to just be himself.
The iconoclastic actor was best known for his roles as Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire," a dockworker in "On the Waterfront," and Vito Corleone in "The Godfather." He was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won twice.
