Looks like Amazon screwed up on a price tag but hopefully they\'ll honor it anyway.

Hope u have fun with those x800s. You can still send me one too by the way. ;)

sold my 800xt on ebay last week, souly will be so dissapointed i got a 6800u instead
-
Amen, MM.
ATi looked so good out of the gate, but the closer nVidia gets to the 6800 launch.. the better they look.
I\'m almost definitely getting a 6800U when I upgrade, or at least some SM3.0 card. *cough* *cough* gj ATi..
-
Gezz, where talking toasters here.....

MM, why did you sell the Ati card ? Any hands on info about all
new videocards is welcome. :)
-
irons when I looked at the page, which I assume was a mistake? Or is one of the mods having fun with the link?
Those irons sure have bad reviews.
-
sold the x800 for 750$, so i practically got paid 300$ to buy an 6800u
like i said before, ati should be in the closet
-
How the hell did you move it for $750?! Somebody got f***ed in the ass on that one..
-
$750 what the hell. reminds me of the time I sold a sealed in box PS2 for $550. :p
-
Yea you really railed the person who bough that. Even if you don\'t know computers that well there arent too many vid cards that cost $750. I guess I shouldn\'t put a damper on your spirits, cheers to you for making out big time..
-
you still gotta come outta the closet ey mm ;)
-
or at least some SM3.0 card. *cough* *cough* gj ATi..
Which pretty much says you have no idea what your talking about.;)
-
? :)
-
-
:p
What? "gj ATi" is sarcastic. They\'re not going to support it until the end of the year, at least!
It\'s apparently rather valuable too; more efficient. Note the speed increase in Far Cry.. nVidia\'s on top now.
-
See Blade that was my point flipped around, while PS3.0 is more efficient, the moment you turn resolutions up and AA/AF, ATI still beats the 6800.
here is the benckmark for Pure speed mode (NO AA/AF)
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.xbitlabs.com%2Fimages%2Fvideo%2Ffarcry30%2Ffc_16x12_pure_training.gif&hash=6a1b5dec315f1f613d3405931eeac2acf85dc429)
ATI WINS HERE!
No let\'s turn AA/F on with high res
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.xbitlabs.com%2Fimages%2Fvideo%2Ffarcry30%2Ffc_16x12_candy_training.gif&hash=182d53b5b5f1dfb587b2aae69f5c714f30767242)
THIS time ATI TAKES EVEN A BIGGER LEAD with AA/AF activated.
So yes PS3.0 has improved speed(by how much that is debatable at this premature point), keep in MIND ATI\'s 3DC is going to incorporated in the 1.3 Far cry patch which should, just like PS3.0 did for the 6800, increase the performance of the card.
Again this whole PS3.0 issue is being blown way out of proportion by NVIDIA just like ATI\'s 3DC. Both have there advantages, however it\'s not until next gen graphic cards that we will see the full throttle mainstream pick-up of shader model 3.0 which does not add any visual improvements over 2.0, just speed.
-
Holy crap nVidia finally posted benchmarks! :p
PS 1600x1200 in Far Cry with full AA & AF @60fps is insane!!
-
THX 60fps on that level, results vary for any card depending on which level is being tested. Some levels will put both the 6800 and X800 to there kness/Slowdowns!

Little boy, I beleive your trolling is wanted in over at http://www.Losers-For-life.com/forums
-
first, i need to know what beleive means
-
First nothing, you\'ll continuously make one excuse after another. You have nothing of important significance to add towards this thread other than crapping all over it which you are notorious for. Do us all a favor and go buy some dippers so that hopefully we don\'t have to smell your spew any more.:blah:
-
mm isn\'t smart enough to move 2 letters. Its ok mm, its ok... The school for the errr gifted is -----> this way.
All this over Irons.. gezz.
-
get a room, guys
oh, and nvidia > ati
-
^ But you still didn\'t really (honestly) answer why you got rid of the X800xt card. I can\'t imagine it to perform less than very good..
-
anything i say about the x800 card will make nvidia256 cry.
lets just say it was a mistake to buy it, a profitable one however
like an AMD cpu chip, it ran hot as ever, and was twice as loud as my 6800u. it\'s a 9800 pro cranked to the max, nothing more. the demos sucked. the drivers sucked. no games were included. couldnt overclock like a champ. the PCB was frickin red. it said Ati on it. the community forums at rage3d are gimps, they spend all day crying how good nvidia cards are.
-
^ More lack of education showing or should i say, outdated education.
Current amd cpu aren\'t hot. 35c pop point is 80c / 90c Not like a certain p4 ehh..
Fans designs make or break a gpu or system, they\'re just designed to move airflow. Hence why mine is a Tt Silent Booster which is very quiet.
Also, brands have a lot to do with noise levels, since each has their own little design. Its what you brand you bought which is why it was most likely noisy. If there are no other brands to choose from (doubtful) then you should’ve waited to begin with.
ohh, and there is user error. Biggest problem in the pc desktop world ;)
-
my p4 is at 3.6 from 3.0 with stock cooler, runs like a dream. current amd chips are like thermonuclear reactors
my x800 was BBA
i impulse bought it because i could, i wanted to give ati one last shot, 6800u wasnt available yet, and i made a bundle from my error.
do i notice a large difference between the x800 and 6800u? not really, far cry runs a little better on the x800 at 4xfsaa 16xaf, but the 6800u has room to grow. when the difference is +/- 5 fps, who cares. the x800 was the best its ever gonna get at launch.
thanks for wasting my time (as usual), souly. nvidia256 is up to bat now
oh, and sales = king
-
pffffft.. You\'ve done nothing but :blah: :blah: :blah:
who says my stock cooler wouldn\'t work fine.. It would no problem, but i\'m into case modding and all that. So i prefer something thats better looking then stock sinks. If i wanted to o/c i wouldn\'t be using stock coolers for either amd or intel.
I guess M$ are the OS kings for sales, which must mean (if i understand you right, no other reason to say such a lame statement) they are the best OS makers.
ohh and mm, i really don\'t care what you get. I just enjoy watching you squirm. :)
-
I believe in ATi, Nvidia256. I know that they\'re faster in Far Cry with everything turned on. Gotta love them for that.
Pretty selective benchmarking though. You\'ll find that on certain maps that need SM3.0\'s efficiency more, the ATi.. even with its better "stamina" as it were.. falls to nVidia due to lack of efficiency.
Not by much, mind you, but at times they do falter. I\'m still on the fence, but I went from ATi\'s side back to nVidia\'s overnight after seeing the 10fps boost for nVidia on certain maps.. and the (slightly) superior IQ.
By the time I upgrade, Doom III and a thousand benchmarks for it will be out and I\'ll make my choice.
-
I do too Blade, I have said in the past before on these forums that I plan on purchasing the 6800 GT, as I feel that Model gives the consumer the best bang for the buck. Your talking to a long time NVIDIA user, I\'m not interested in playing favorites, I hold no allegiance to any PC company, when product B comes along with better features with a similar or cheaper price, I jump ship immediately.
