Would it be possible to transplant the insides of a version 1 playstation 2 into a more recent version playstation? Or a newer playstation version into an older ps2 version?
Thanks for your help.

I don\'t see why not. I\'ve seen mid-tower PC boxes with both PS2 and Xbox innards with its own designated CD trays.

just a question: why?

politiepet: my playstation is worn out (loud, cant read some memory cards)...if a transplant is possible then i can just use my friend\'s extended warranty to have my playstation replaced with a new one (in an old shell) you see?

What about the warranty stickers over the seal. If that is removed to warranty will become void.
