Title: Is there any reason to buy the HDD?

I saw the ps2 hdd in store for 69.99 I was going to buy it but I don\'t really see any reason in the purchase.

I mean what is the benefit of having the thing?

some small benefits like FFX where it helps reduce load time...

but history had shown that add ons aren\'t very popular.  This is such a case for PS2 for their hdd add on...

Well you have a lot of storage if you like to save a lot of games.  ESPN NFL 2k5 will have video highlights and hopefully something will be done with SOCOM II.  Other than that, apparently no.

I think you CAN´T save games on it... btw almost any 40-120 GB IDE HDD will work with the PS2 and there is the HD Loader. Some Games will have benefit from it - new levels for download etc. Well... this baby wont come out in Europe, so we wont get FFXI and some other games and that sucks big time !!!

Serious thats freakin awesome. But if there is no real reason to get it I won\'t.

And if you can\'t save games on that is a major let down.

You can\'t save them directly to it, but you can transfer your memory card data to it for later usage.
