Title: I just found out something huge last night

I couldn\'t believe it. I always thought my chick was cool.

What should I do? I mean besides kill her.

Post by: GmanJoe on July 19, 2004, 04:19:04 AM: I remember that old movie. In our Literature class, the profressor ripped the movie to pieces calling it a "travesty to Greek Mythology". Well, he\'s a literature dork so whaddya expect?

He raved about how they were not Titans but they were Olympian Gods (Titans created the Olympian Gods and were usurped by them). There was no Pegasus nor was there a Calibos. He had winged sandals and Hermes\' (Mercury) cap which gave him invisibility. He used his invisibility to approach Madusa and used his shield\'s reflection to guide his sword to cut off her head.

With the head of the Madusa, he was able to save Andromedae from the Kraken. The Kraken was sent by Posiedon to kill her coz her mother falsely claimed that she was more beautiful than Posiedon\'s bitches. :p Hence why he sent the monster.

So, Perseus saved the chick and tapped that ass happily ever after. :p

I think one of Ray Harryhausen\'s students was gonna do the dino\'s in Jurassic Park until the CG guys showed up. After Spielberg and the guy looked at the CG dinosaurs, I think Spielberg was so amazed that he said "I\'m sorry but I think you\'re out of a job"

To which the guy answers "Don\'t you mean extinct?"

And that was actually added to the dialogue. :D

Post by: Coredweller on July 19, 2004, 11:47:13 AM: All you stop motion detractors can F OFF! :p Great stop motion animation has a soul that no CG keyframe or motion capture can match. Those old Harryhausen film like "Jason and the Argonauts," and the Sinbad films were awe inspiring and frightening as hell. I don\'t know how young people would react to them today, but I loved those old pictures like "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" when I was a kid. It was very cool stuff. Modern CG animation often looks so boring by comparision.

BTW it\'s not a truly lost art because Nick Park and a few others are still doing it, but it is much less understood than it used to be.
