I have yet to watch it, loading it up now.

Errrr.. boring.
this trailer is too cheesey with no actuall relevance. I dont care if he walks around for a while and he wants revenge. bleh.
-
Nice shots of Iceland there, needs more shots of the suite though.
-
Wait, who is playing batman?
-
Christian Bale
No-Tim Burton nor Michael Keaton = another failure in the batman franchise, just like the other 2 movies.
-
I am sorry, you obviously know nothing about the series. It has an accomplished director, with one of the best cast and a great script (I\'ve read it). This film stands a chance, unlike the previous two... Also, if you knew what you was talking about, you would know the reasons for the previous two failing and it wasn\'t so cut and dry as the "no Burton / Keaton" idea.
Oh and as for the trailer..
Joy-gasm.
-
Hopefully they do not spend the first 95% of the film getting him into the batsuit.
-
They do spend at least 70 percent of the script with back story . It really isn\'t an action heavy script, instead it\'s very much a ground roots orgin story, explaining where Bruce trained, the people he met, how Gotham has changed when he gets back and what not.
-
I liked Year One a lot. Hopefully this movie will be relatively close to it.

Bah hahah give me a break, Burton is the only director whom has demonstrated that he posses the vision and direction needed in order to make the franchise successful
Plus I have yet to see any actor successfully take the place of Keaton in the batsuit. Michael Keaton was born for that role, he played batman flawlessly. It’s like replacing Christopher Reeve with Nicholas cage for the man in Blue, it just doesn’t work.
As for Christopher Nolan, yes he has directed some fine cinema, notably the Following, memento was ok. Problem I have is that I\'m not convinced he can take the place of Tim Burton, some pretty big shoes to fill, but who knows?
I understand all you guys with the Superman and Batman avatars here must really be hardcore fans of these comic book characters, but excuse me for being extremely harsh and critical towards this film considering that the last installments were a complete mockery towards the black cape crusader.
I mean for god sakes Pay Keaton what ever amount it takes to get him back in the suit (we all know how much he hated it, but considering his career is going nowhere. )

And I am sorry, but you have no clue what you are talking about.. I love Burton\'s \'Batman\', but more than anything it was an Elseworlds tale, due to the fact Batman went around killing people.
Burton possessed a vision, I will give you that, but his vision was goin\' nowhere by the end of \'Batman: Returns\'. Do you know that he had casted Marlon Waynes as Robin? Give me a break. I\'m a huge Burton fan, but after the original \'Batman\' he had nowhere to go..
You sit here and ramble ( as usual) without every stating why Nolan and the cast aren\'t suited for this project . You basically rant and rave without giving one valid point (as usual).
As much as I love Burton\'s \'Batman\' and Keaton\'s portrayal of the Dark Knight, it was not faithful to the comics. This one stands to be faithful to the comics.. It also has an extremely great cast with the fan-casted Christain Bale as Bruce, Gary Oldman as Commisher Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred, Liam Nesson as Ducard and so on...
And getting back on track - it wasn\'t just Burton and Keaton being gone that hurt the franchise. I mean, Burton stayed on for the third film as Producer, he just didn\'t want to direct.. And as far as gettin\' Keaton back , give me a break. I love Michael Keaton, I think he is a great actor but he is not suited for a year one role. Hell, he wasn\'t suited for a year one role back in \'89.
THINK BEFORE YOU POST. ONLY POST ON SUBJECTS YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A CLUE ABOUT.

I learn from the best, but seriously I have yet to see any of your so called valid points, mostly your opinion, which is fine, cause as far as I am concerned, cinema is all about personal preference, there are no facts to prove to someone that loves a particular film that it\'s crap. You can only share your side of the story, which I have, and if you disagree with it, that\'s cool.

It\'s not a question about having a clue as if it related towards some actual evidence. This topic is rather of opinion, and that is what I am stating. I happened to think Burton\'s 2 batman films were quit good, you say he had nowhere to go (funny how the box office/critics would say other wise), . Also I remember reading up on this topic long time ago, in regards to the whole Burton/Keaton issue. It\'s not as clear cut and dry as you make it look, If I remember correctly WB wanted to take the franchise in a different direction, with that being said they offered Burton the directors chair under certain conditions(restricting his creative freedom), that Burton did not agree on, so he remained producer. Keaton on the other hand was tired and beaten after the second film, mainly due to the weight of the bat suit as well as having to boil in that thing all day.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Bah! I hate the idea of that.

So what you are saying is that with ALL of the directors and actors out there, only two can make this story work?
I\'m sorry but that may be the dumbest thing I\'ve ever read.
/looks up some of nvidia\'s old posts.
umm....nevermind

not at all, but If it an\'t broke why fix it?
looks up some of nvidia\'s old posts.
I bet I know which ones they are too.:surprised

All I want to know is how you can say that this film will suck without Keaton and Burton... Burton had a vision - but it wasn\'t exactly true to the comics. Nolan has a vision also, and if you go with the casting / script and all information we have so far, he is on the right track for a faithful adapation to the comic. How hard is that to understand?
Yes, WB wanted to take the franchise into another direction, as they came under fire for the fact that Batman was extremely dark and violent for a so-called "super-hero". Yes, Keaton was physically beat up wearing a 70lb rubber suit and yes he refused to sign on without Burton. But I still fail to see how that has bearing on this upcoming film. Obviously WB has realized that the campy Batman is not the Batman people want. So, they are rebooting the franchise with a more faithful adaption of the comic, a rather bleak orgin tale.

Well you and I both know that there is no way I can truly tell, however as I posted earlier, the last 2 films were a flop so why is it of surprise that I bring forth such skepticism.
Obviously WB has realized that the campy Batman is not the Batman people want
See this is where you and I differ, I don\'t not trust WB especially after they knew "Batman Forever" was a flop. What did they do about? they allowed Joel Schumacher to make another which turned out to be even more of a cheesy ass flick.
Plus I find it very hard to imagine Batman without Keaton, after all I grew up with the first batman film.
-
I also grew up with Keaton as Batman and believe me, I love the film. I watch it at least once every two weeks and I have done that since I was a young boy.. I can recite the movie from front to back.
I still however have hope for this film. From the day I saw Christain Bale in \'American Physco\', I said he would be the perfect Batman / Bruce Wayne\'.
Infact, the only thing I don\'t like is the new batmobile and the helmet o the suit.

This movie will rock. As a huge Batman fan (though not as "vocal" as LIC) this Year One movie is gonna be tops for me. I want to "see" how he became so good at kicking people\'s asses. I want to know why he\'s so damn smart. He\'s just one step away from being a bad guy yet the Commish lets him do what cops can not do. Hopefully we\'ll see what makes Gordon tick. I know the answers from teh comics....but to see it in live action...well that is a hell of a treat.
