i have a huge list,..& it\'s just not for current systems, i mean throughout videogame history..for me it was
mike tyson--nes mike tyson\'s punchout..until i learned mike\'s pattern, he owned me :p
kingdom hearts--rikku, the 1st & 2nd times he gave me a ton of trouble & that very last boss at the end of the game,..hardest boss ever..i must\'ve replayed that segment over 40 times!
sephrioth (spell)--at the very end of ff7 nuff said
both bosses at the end valis 2 & 3 for the turbo graphx 16 (oldie)
karateka--an acually very good adventure game for the commodore 64 back in the day anyway the very last boss in that game was tough
the boss at the end of the legendary axe( turbographx 16)
any of the bosses in blazin lazers comin towards the end for the turbo graphx 16..
kwan-from rise to honor at the very end..it took me some time to whoop his a$$ using counters..took me about 14 times to beat him..
god--i think that was his name i\'m not sure if he was the last boss in shadow hearts but i could not defeat him & i was deep into the game i say that because i defeated that guy with the black top hat...
goro--from the first mortal combat..he was cheap at times but he made me drop alot of quarters into that machine..oh & i used scorpion..
the mid game boss in silent hill 3,..the one that killed heather\'s father,..the one you fought on the roof..some may say he was easy but the 1st time around with just the ordinary weapons? i had a tough time...
the spider boss 1st & 2nd time this boss was tough but this fight to me was one of the best boss fights ever..i would get mad when i died fighting him,..but he was an absolute joy to fight..that is what was missing from devil may cry 2...challenges that are an absolute blast to play through...oh forgot to mention..this is from the 1st devil may cry..
that\'s all for now i just noticed how long this is gettin\'..feel free to make your contributions..;)

1. Devil May Cry Final Boss
2. Emerald Weapon (Final Fantasy 7)
3. Ruby Weapon (Final Fantasy 7)
4. Devil May Cry (first boss, [lava-spider])
5. (Not really a Boss fight more a stage/level) Battletoads 3rd or 4th level with the swamp bikes.

I don\'t think the Weapons should really count, they\'re optional.
Personally, I had MAJOR problems with the Gate Keep in FFVII from the city of the ancients. It used to just smash me and it took a lot of effort to beat it. In fairness to me, though, my characters in all FF games I play through are usually at an extremely low level.
Oh, and Ultimecia from FFVIII. My characters were on level 28 the first time I took her on. Youch. Still kicked her ass, though.. eventually. I had my entire battle planned out on paper, I upgraded every last spell I had to the most powerful, I had to use just the right characters. Was touch as hell.
I\'ll post more as I think of them..
-
Bob, I had problems with the gate keeper too.
I had problems with:
the final dude in half life
inferno, the last dude on the journey mode in SC2
-
i know i have some, but i can\'t remember all at this moment...
FF Tactics - Elmdor dude that uses samurai sword. The part i am talking about is when i have to fight him on the roof with his assasins. it was kinda hard and i think i died several times before i can actually killed him. It makes very difficult to steal his assasins rare items while trying to kill him too.
FF Tactics- the guy that turns into a something if forgot its name but he called himself the devil. Miluda\'s brother, Wiegraf\'s \'holy stone\' called upon him and he turned into the "devil."
-some bosses in Mega Man 8. Not only they have some of the hardest levels when you first played it. Some of the bosses are hard to defeat too.
-some bosses in FFX. Seymour is kinda difficult if you don\'t use the right moves, but after knowing the right moves, it gets easier.
-Liquid snake and his gear in Metal Gear Solid 1.
that\'s most i can remember for now and I am only covering Ps2 and ps1.
oh speaking of which,
Echo the dolphin the tides of time in Sega Genesis. Some levels are tough, so are some of the bosses.
-
Any boss on MGS2 when on the hardest setting.
-
hmmm...that\'s a tough one...i would have to say...the earth eater in FFX...damn...at least for me...the custom one from the calm lands i mean
-
you guys must have been at pretty low levels in ff7, I breezed through that game. Sephiroth was the absolute easiest, he got one hit in before I took him down.:P
I have a tendency to turn the tough games off, though I do push myself through it if I\'m really enjoying the game.
Metroid Prime - Omega Pirate. What a pain in the ass, it took me about 7 or 8 times but I had never been so frustrated.
Xenosaga - I don\'t remember the name now but there was one boss battle I thought was ridiculously tough. For anyone who might remember, it\'s the boss fight after you rescue Momo. It was just Ziggy and Momo against the boss, he could diminish my HP down to one with a single hit.
FFX - Seymour. I had to fight him quite a few times through his first three forms. Suprisingly I found the last battle with him to be the most simple.
Ecco the Dolphin(DC) - Sleeping Forces of Doom. The big circular room with the tentacles, strong current, debris(hurts ecco), and two pockets of air. It was at least a 30 minute fight for me, if not close to an hour. That entire game was tough.
-
Sephiroth-FF7
Sephiroth-Kingdom hearts (I dont know why you people found the last boss hard.He was extremely easy for me.Killed him in the first try)
Last Boss-DMC
Last Boss-FF8
Last Boss-Resi2 if you have the grenade launcher he\'s dead in seconds. If not.....I dont know how you can kill this guy
-
All of the bosses in Contra: Shattered Soldier.
-
Last Boss FF8. Only FF game I havn\'t finished because of this stupid boss:mad:
-
^^^
My suggestion is to use Quistis white wind when "its use apocalypse" or mega elixers.
-
Final boss on bionic commando and the final boss on ninja gaiden 2.

I personally tried to have Rinoa in the final boss forms junctioned with strong magic especially like Ultima.I custed Aura with the help of Selphie if I remember well to Squall and Rinoa so Rinoa kept casting strong powerfull magic with her limit brake(I dont remember which was).Ultima did great damage.I kept healing her.Squall was junctioned with some kind of magic that generated his HP.hmm...cant remember well though. Its being a long time

heh, I finished her on my first try :D
although I had only squall left with just 1 hp
-
Just cast aura on Squall and Zell, and let Rinoa do her thing just to have her in the part -- don\'t cast aura on her though as her final limit is useless in this battle. Hopefully, you turned Gilgamesh\'s card into 10 holy wars. Cast one on yourself after casting the two auras. Slam the boss with nothing but limit breaks -- having both Squall\'s and Zell\'s ultimate limit breaks helps loads here. When the invincibility wears off, recast aura on squall and zell and recast the invincibility spell.
It should not take any more then 2 Holy wars. This strategy also works on the weapons throughout the game but may take 3 or 4 holy wars. Just the 10 Gilgamesh\'s card gives you should be enough for these three tough bosses. They are jokes with this strategy as well.

I know what you guys are talking about and i love the series just as much as any other person but you guys sound so sad
 .
-
So, gamers talking about games on a forum named after a gaming console is sad? Well, at least we have you, a person who posts in gaming threads on a gaming forum, to remind us of that. You are as necessary as the tides, good sir. ;)
By the way, all console RPG\'s after the days of the PSOne suck.
-
I knew you would bitch. Take it easy tiger. Its nothing serious my friend. Its just the way in which you guys were talking about it. I cant remember the last time we had such a "dorky" conversation on these forums (and were serious about it).
But like i said. Chillout capiche? ;)
As for that last comment :iono:. Usesless

Come on man, surely you noticed the ";)" in my post?
-
Stages and Levels :
Rayman (PSX) - final level, I cursed like a sailor
GT3\'s Vits Race Series - the whole damn thing
OddWorld Oddysee - last level
Boss :
FF7 - fighting that Ruby monster. Can\'t recall the name. He basically kicked out one of your three fighters.
-
D2 - Final Boss. Not hard but the concept was piss-poor and the execution was even worse. It was annoying , very annoying.
Ninja Gaiden - Alma. Not sure why, but the first form of this boss caused me many problems.
Resident Evil (PSX) - Tyrant
It\'s odd, I have played so many games and no bosses really stand out as being "hard". Yet, I know for a fact that so many have caused me many headaches.

Exactly. Eventhough im sure i might be able to come up with a couple. But for the days this thread has been up, i have not come up with one.
-
I just found this forum today, so i will hop right in...
~ Final Boss from FF2 <-- Oldschool :)
~ Elmdor from FF tactics, when his 2 wench\'s attack you...
-
welcome
-
I beat Sephiroth in FF7 too easily. I maxed out all my characters and the challenge just wasn\'t there by the time I ended the game.
-
I agree with the group that can\'t think of any. I know Mike Tyson was hard as a kid, and I haven\'t played the Final Fantasys so I missed out on that group..
Other than that, nothing is jumping out at me...
Hmm...
-Dan
-
Let\'s see -----> Um...
Zelda (the original one, the gold cartridge on Nintendo 8-bit): Gandondorf (sp?)
The last boss on The Guardian Legend (again...Nintendo 8-bit)
Goro and Shang Tsung on Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis
Mike Tyson on Mike Tyson\'s Punch Out
MGS2: From Vamp on to the last boss on Extreme mode
MGS1: I agree with Liquid Snake and his damn metal gear
Devil May Cry: Nightmare on hard It\'s like fighting a pile of crap that just won\'t DIE!!)
And too many more that I can\'t think of...

Dr.Wily : 2nd Form.
Mega Man 7
Friggin\' unreal.
While we are at it..
Dr.Wily\'s Castle
Mega Man 8
The bosses aren\'t that *bad*, but the stupid jet-ski at the start of the castle commands to much patience.
-
Worlds hardest boss battle:
Revenge of Shinobi. Final boss.
Wtf- This guy just floats their, and you cant even touch him.
I think my cartiridge might just be ****ed up.
-
Gil in Sf3 i find to be a friggin C@#T. Although i haven\'t played it for more then 2 hours.

You suck I use to beat these games when I was 5. :(
-
Some of the old mega mans were hard as hell. No charge, no dash no nothing. Just a pellet and jump (the great MM2).
In terms of the newer ones, i always have trouble with the black blob guy with the one eye that turns into blocks that you have to remember how to dodge. Not to mention that if you touch him in full form you die instantly.
Sigma in X4 and 5 was kinda hard. Took me a little while.
