Here is the thread where you name a franchise that you once loved but seems to have dropped off the face of the earth... I\'ll start.
Strider - Come on Capcom, Strider 2 was friggin\' brilliant. I can only imagine a third one in the same glorious 2.5D.
Star Gladitor - Capcom\'s first foray into the 3D Realm. I for one liked it..-shrugs-. I know there was a sequel, but I cannot remember the name of it.
-
Turok/Acclaim - used to be killer in the mid 90s but as everyone knows they\'ve been on a downward spiral.
Star Gladiator was damn fun, it would be cool if it came back.
Mario - Mario64 was the last great game. Nintendo had 2 chances to better it but didn\'t succeed.
Double Dragon & Battletoads - so much potential
Batman games
-
Killer Instinct - this is my favorite fighting game and it\'s been years since a sequel. Rare commented that they will be updating all their franchises...but, does Nintendo own KI?
NiGHTS - honestly this was a no brainer as a series yet Sega never made a sequel:( They\'ve teased about it making that Christmas edition and numerous ads in other Sega games. PLEASE!! Me wants!!!!
-
THX - EA has the right\'s for the next Batman game, which is based off of Nolan\'s \'Batman Begins\'. Development has started. As of recently EA has had great luck with their movie based titles (LoTR / James Bond), so I have high hopes.
Ginko - I have to agree that it\'s odd that we have not seen an update to the Killer Instinct franchise. I do not think Nintendo own\'s it. It\'s just unreal, when you think back in the 90\'s and how the arcades was packed due to Killer Instinct and there was a good sucess on the home consoles also!
As for NiGhTS, well, Sega is on crack. Instead of givin\' us a sequel, they port it to the GBA...WTF?
-
Just to remind LIC.....SEGA is known for its lack of business savy.
-
Einhander
Powerstone
Both were great -- but both companies are retarded for not making more.

Power Stone.. yes. Shenmue is getting a sequel of sorts..
Well, personally.. I can say that the sequel to Earthbound needs to come out within the next 3 years..
It should, too. I believe it was announced for the GBA not too long ago.
-
powerstone
Einhander
Hellfire (genesis)
Killer Instinct (still play it to this day (snes version)).
Mystical Ninja (SNES one was ok but i love the 64 version)
Jet Grind(set) Radio ( I remember when they were thinking of doing a ps2 port but said it couldnt do the texturing. I loved the first game and i only got to play a bit of the second. I bet they might be able to pull it off)
so many that i cant think of.

STREETS OF RAGE!

Gran Turismo
I mean they made 3 but god knows if a 4th will ever be made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Sonic? Id love to play a new Sonic Adventure on my GameCube.
Btw, is the sonic game for Gamecube one of the adventures or something else?
-
It\'s called \'Sonic Hero\'s and it is not all-so bad...If you really dig Sonic, you may like it.
-
FreeSpace :(
-
Privateer. Great game, same as with the wing commader series...
-
flashback...that alien sci-fi adventure game for the sega genesis..i used to love that game....
-
Fastson: Aye, or Descent 4 with the Doom 3 engine..
-
Gunstar Heroes - Maybe one of the best shoot-em up multiplayer games of the Genesis generation. This game is ITCHING to be remade by a good development house.
Power Stone - I know there was a Power Stone 2 but I never saw it.
Perfect Dark - Was an all around better game than Goldeneye but came out way too late in the N64 lifecycle.
Pirates! Gold - I know there is a remake on the horizon but still. This was open ended gameplay before anyone even knew what that meant.
Duke Nukem - "Shake it Baybee", "You wanna dance?"
-

That would be something. :)
I saw that they were making FreeSpace mod for Doom 3. I think its going to be a fps though.
Remember the cutscene in FS2 (or was it 1?) when they enter the Shivan ship? I think its going to be like that.

****ing Mutant League Football/Hockey.
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fretrohq.de%2Fmdimages%2Fmutant_league_football.gif&hash=87dc63a1769e8d4f646f5de323deeaafa37aebe1)
What the ****? Both were great games in their time (though, I preferred football over hockey), and I\'d still much rather play them over all these other sports games being made today. And we all know the market is BEGGING for a gory football game filled with dismemberment and bribing the referee then having the opposition killing the referee for bribing him and then killing the opposition players because they killed your referee who was on the take and then both teams running out of bench players because they\'re all dead.
Mother ****ing Rock n\' Roll Racing.

"Rip is DOMINATING the race!" GREAT Snes/Genny racing game which I think received a GBA remake dropped off the face of the earth. There was a PSX sequal which received very mediocre reviews but I thought was massively underrated. It was the only racing game of last generation that I truely enjoyed. It just had a great sense of speed (preobably moreso than the quite similar Wipeout series) which implementing similar blurring techniques that make the Burnout games so popular, fun weapons good tracks and was very challenging. The only real disappointments was the fact that the only multiplayer was with a link-cable, and they got rid of all the classic hard-rock midis from the Snes.
BRING IT BACK!

Would like to see another Ecco the Dolphin. Defender of the Future was pretty cool despite the not so obvious objectives.
Skies of Arcadia - I know they just re-released it on GC but I want a sequel damnit!
A traditional Phantasy Star would also be cool.

Castlevania - That pos PS2 one doesn\'t count. The GBA games are a nice hold over, but I want a REAL Castlevania on one of the 3 consoles.
Tie Fighter - Lucas Arts needs to make more games in this series.
I remember those Tiger games. I still have Double Dragon 3.

I guess I\'m one of the few people who actually ended up really liking LOI. When I first played it (on a rental), I thought it was boring, with very little variation in the environment, and without much variation on fighting. But, I kept playing it since I had the rental for a week, and after about the first level and a half, I really started getting into the combat style as I earned new combos, and the exploration became really fun after I realized that old castles look pretty much the same throughout, and I stopped caring about repetitive scenery. The later levels look much better anyway. I ended up buying the game after my rental was over just because I liked it so much, but I will say I had to spend some time with it early on to really get into it. It was well worth it, though.

wow
-
Powerstone! <-- i spent endless hours playing that game with my friends.
Legend of Gaia <-- Nice RPG for the SNES system. AND it came with a T-shirt when i bought it. :D
Final Fantasy Tactics <-- I know they made a sequel. But i wish it would\'ve been on a system, rather than a hand-held POS.
Nah, J/P
Nights <-- great game. That would\'ve been a good seller, had they made a sequel.
Shining Force <-- One of the best RPG\'s ever made. I need more!! I demand more!!
-
Rival Schools and Project Justice. Both were decent games and I wanna see them come back
-
I wanna see a new SPLATTERHOUSE installment God damn it! I loved the Splatterhouse games from Namco. Even if it\'s in 3D I don\'t give a damn! I have heard rumors that Namco will be making a sequel for PS2 and XBOX. I hope it\'s true!
-
I thought Splatterhouse was made by Sega?
What about Parasite Eve? Seemed like a promising series. I never got around to playing the second game.
-
Splatterhouse was Namco...
It just appeared on Genesis and TG-16...
-
Actually what happened to the rumor that Namco was developing a new Splatterhouse
-
I miss my Turbo Duo - that was the whole reason I first bought the system - Splatterhouse.
-
Wow. Giga play videogames? I thought he was too busy playing around with his republican action figures :D. j/k
Sometimes i forget that this IS a ps2 forum.
-
Wow.. Virtua On, Streets of Rage, Perfect Dark.. I loved those games.
-
Jet Moto. I liked the first game, never got around to the sequel...
Samba De Amigo. I pull out my Dreamcast quite often just to play this game.
