I found my OLD VHS of \'Hoop Dreams\' and watched it again for probably the 50th time. This is easily my favorite sports movie of all time.
I read a "Where are they now?" article a week or two ago and for those that don\'t know William is now a minister and youth conselor in Chicago. He was working out with Jordan during his second come back(Jordan\'s) and played against pro players. He impressed MJ enough that he was given an invite to Wizard\'s camp. Unfortunately he broke his foot. He said that it was unfortunate but his dream was still fulfilled because he knew that he could play on that level with NBA players. Will also married his High School sweetheart(from the movie) and they have four children. Curtis(Will\'s brother) was murdered in 2001.
Arthur or "Man" went on to star in Juco and played two years at Arkansas State. He was the #1 overall draft pick in the USBL and later on went to play for the "Winnipeg Cyclones" in the IBA. He started a youth group in Chicago that gives role models to inner city kids. He is also part of an annual 3-on-3 "Hoop Dreams" scholarship tournament in Washington, DC. His father, Arthur Agee Sr., is now an ordained minister and preaches at the same church they showed the family at in the movie. Man\'s mother is now a private nurse and works with upper class families.
I don\'t know if anyone even cares about this but I was bored so I thought I would put it up.
What does everyone else think of Hoop Dreams?

I like the Spike Lee one where the kid\'s name is Jesus and he does two chicks at the same time because that college really wants him to join up. Damn that scene is very memorable.

I loved Hoop Dreams and also read the article... Good stuff.

Hoop Dreams was a great film. I\'m still angry that it wasn\'t even NOMINATED in the documentary category at the Academy Awards that year. One of the great injustices in Oscar history. A bunch of other documentaries were nominated which everyone has forgotten.
This is what won that year:

I\'ve never seen it, but maybe it\'s good.

I don\'t know if I\'ve seen that movie, but some of my favorite sports movies are "Blue Chips", "Hoosiers", and "Rudy".
