But some scholars said Gibson’s finds aren’t enough to support his theory, and one colleague said that short of an inscription with John’s name in the cave, there could never be conclusive proof of his presence there.
That says it all, right there.

I think it could be true. He left further parts of cave untouched. And I am sure other scientist will come to further study the cave.
His findings are something to really take into consideration.

Its like Indiana Jones within feet of the Arc of the Covenant and leaving it for his rival to get it. Something fishy is going on.
