I don\'t see a topic about this already so what do you guys think about Deon Sanders coming out of retirement to play DB for the Ravens?
The reports are that he has been running 4.3 40s (   ) in workouts.
The Ravens secondary hasn\'t looked that good in preseason and Deon as a Nickel back would be amazing. I literally can\'t wait for him to get his first pick return for a TD and do the "Primetime" Endzone Dance.
-
He\'s still fast (apparently) and at one point the dude could cover anybody like a rug.
We\'ll see.
-
Wish the Cowboys could have gotten him as a right corner back, who cares how long he\'s been out of the league. He\'d be a big improvement over Hunter and the rest of those clowns.
-
He\'ll benefit by playing with the Ravens D. They\'ll make him look good. It\'ll be interesting to see how he is when he comes back...and how he reacts to all the new excessive celebration rules :D
-
i agree with you there psx-j. i wish we could\'ve picked him back up..and shocky, i think the new celebration rules sucks A$$ why don\'t they just let these cats celebrate? it\'s part of football..i was watching the rams wash..game and i firget who it was but a receiver for the rams scored and spinned the ball indirectly in the defenders face..and he was penalized for it..pathetic..

I love it...If I wanna see a bunch of thugs dancing and carrying on, I\'ll watch MTV... This is football, not a rap video. The owners pay these guys to do a job. So, essentially they celebrate doing their job correctly?!
-
^^^They get paid to play a f*cking game. If you want to watch a bunch of millionaires do nothing go to a Microsoft shareholders meeting. It is entertainment.
BTW, I like how you called them thugs. Nice addition.

give me a break! all these years nobody\'s ever had a problem with it,..so you just want them to score and just walk off the field? and it wasn\'t just the BLACK players celebrating my friend..sheeit i\'d celebrate too if i scored after going up against a soild D...might as well kill the celebrations for all sports...the olympics baseball whatever..when the u.s. wins a gold..don\'t celebrate..no hugs or kisses just walk off the field..
when the yanks win the world series don\'t jump out onto the field just walk off the field in a timely fashion....yea chizz you know it\'s complete bulls**t..
now i won\'t go for the extremes like what terrel owens did in dallas or maybe even callin up your mom\'s on the cell phone..but everything else? there was nothing wrong with them celebrating....

first off, it\'s not a black thing, as much as you want it to be. I can\'t stand any celebratory performances. Jeremy Shockey is a retard, too. It just boils down to integrity and sportsmanship. You are part of a team. It\'s not "The Terrell Owens Show". Every other player on your team is just as responsible for getting you to the endzone as you are for getting there. Show some class. Show some restraint. It just says more for your character if you can perform well, score for your team, and not beat your chest like a lowland gorilla and dance like marky mark and the funky bunch.

Didn\'t do much for the Redskins.

IT. IS. A. FUCKING. GAME.
It is supposed to be fun. They are not suiting up for Jury duty. If you are not having fun playing the game why even do it?
It\'s supposed to be fun, the man says \'Play Ball\' not \'Work Ball\' you know.

That post made no sense at all. Are you drunk or something? This is football it is a game. WTF do you want them to do? They enjoy the game and show it on the field. It is a sport you know.
-
Thats ridiculous. Nobody would want to watch some monotone game with absolutely no emotion. I love to see big hits, trash talking, dancing, and a little fist pumping as much as possible. It makes the game even more entertaining. Of course there are limits, but those are to be decided by the officials. There is nothing wrong with celebrating. It gets the fans and the players excited, and makes the game even that much more thrilling.

Exactly what part of my statement made no sense? It is near-perfect english. And, it is my opinion, and not subject to correction. I guess I\'m the only person here who longs for the days of true sports heroes like Johnny Unitas or Joe Montana. Or how about Marvin Harrison? He seems to be able to restrain himself...

I completely agree, I hate the excessive celebration rules. You seriously can\'t do anything anymore, and it\'s just stupid. I love elaborate endzone dances and shit like that. It\'s a game of emotion, you should be able to display those emotions.
I hate a lot of other things the NFL does too. Take a look at Chad Johnson last year. He got fined for everything. For the shoes he wore every game for example. It just does too far if you ask me.
-
Nothing tops when Terrell placed the ball on the Cowboys\' star... I was jumping around my room going nuts... Until he then got hit, and then I ironically yelled, "Thats bullshit!"
-
One of my favorite plays of all time was, of course, the Black 41 Flash Reverse against Oklahoma in 2001. That was one of my favorite Husker plays ever, and the players, after making that play, jumped on each other in the end zone in celebration of the backbreaking play against the then #1 Oklahoma Sooners, endin their 20 game losing streak.
Apparently showing that emotion of scoring that TD with that kind of a play was excessive celebration. I was listening to the radio broadcast, and something very smart was said -- "If you can\'t celebrate THAT, then what CAN you celebrate?" Apparently nothing. Sad.

i would\'ve banned him from the nfl! how dare he try to dis my boys on their home turf like that! :p
-
That seriously was the best celebration instance of my life. The whole Owens then Emmitt then Owens getting tackled...amazing to watch on TV. I loved it, so much entertainment. I hate that that gets taken away by these rules. You score, you should be able to celebrate how you want.

That is what I have been saying. Let the guys enjoy the game.

I personally like the end zone dances. It takes the fun away, because usually your dancing along with him at home. And seeing them just casually run back out and give it to the ref wouldnt make a touchdown as exciting.

He got what he deserved.

The beauty of these idiots celebrating is that they could be losing by 4 touchdowns and they\'ll still do it.

so true..but let\'s not forget that great monday night moment when the jets came back on the miami dolphins..i forget what the score was but i know that they were losing bad i mean something like 32-3 in the 3rd qtr,.but myself along with just about everybody else wrote that off as a loss that night,..but the jets came back to win it...point is, is that was a REAL cause for celebration..
-
Oh please, one moment out of a million. All they are is a bunch of hotdogs.
-
I always thought they were tacos.
-
Terrell Owens is a complete f*ck head, he\'s almost totally the reason this rule is in place, so if you want to thank someone thank him and Joe Horn, and the old people that run the game, idiots.
-
Jets were down 37-3...and it was the 4th quarter that they were losing in. Makes it even better.
Jumbo Elliott catching the game-tying Touchdown in the back of the end zone -- Jumbo Elliott, the offensive linemen. What a great game.
Though I think the celebration stuff sucks, I do agree with the fact that some of these guys (like Deion Sanders, who would do his little celebration after a TD when his team was down 37-0 against the Bills) take it to a crap level, you do have the right to, oh, you know, show some damn EMOTION.

i\'m not really sure what brought about the ban..i think you\'re right tho..about terrell being part of it..ever since the dallas fiasco and then the stunt he pulled with the pen (signing the football with a pen he hid in his sock/shoe) the powers that be have been all over it..
i really didn\'t see anything wrong with the signing of the football either..that said tho..i would still love to see these players celebrate like that old man in those six flags commercials :p

It was completly unclassy of TO to go dancing on the Star like that. That thing is sacred I tell you! I just wish it was Roy Williams in that #31 jersey that hit him at the time and not the other guy.
As for excessive celebrations, I think anything with props is the only thing that should be thrown out the window. The Texans have adopted the leap into the stands after the touchdown celebration but now only one player can do it and not 2. It used to be Carr and whoever caught the ball...but I noticed when Houston played Dallas this year and Houston scored David started for the stands and then had to stop himself.
-
Maybe I should make myself more clear. "Celebrating" is one thing, you know, if you\'ve just won the game or pulled your team out of a hole or something. I can deal with some fist-pumping and teammate head-butts... I actually saw someone at a vikings-bills preseason game do a hip-pumping gyrating dance to celebrate a decent punt. Not a 1 yd line punt, but say a 12 yd line punt. YOU HAD TO PUNT, YOU F*CKING RETARD! AND YOU WERE DOWN BY 7!!! AT THE END OF THE FIRST QUARTER!!! And it wasn\'t even the kicker... it was the guy who didn\'t get to tackle the player who took a knee. He did it right in his face.
Or how about the idiot who gets all his "boys" in the endzone and pretends to be driving a car? That\'s not sportsmanship, that\'s the WWE.

How the hell does a celebration ruin the game? I mean I didn\'t see what was the big deal about TO\'s sharpy. I thought it was rather funny. These are ****ing grown men hitting the shit out of eachother. And they wanna get all pissed about the celebrations. How ****ing stupid. You can rip a guys head off but you can\'t celebrate too much.
And football is a sport how can they tell you not to celebrate when you pull of a great move or something.

Whoa man I loved it. I thought it awesome. I ****ing hate dallas. Classic my ass.
-
Of course you do.
-
Dynasties seem to attract haters...

Im pissed the Colts can\'t do their kickoff shuffle thing anymore. That was cool, they even had a theme song for it. I do like celebrations, I just don\'t like stuff that is over the top like Joe Horn, stuff with props is over the top. I do like players like Marvin Harrison and Barry Sanders who score a TD and hand the ball to the ref. Marvin slightly celebrates sometimes, but not very often.
Hes too shy, if he talked more his name would be brought up more with other WRs like Moss and T.O. Even though I think his talent alone is good enough to get his name mentioned with them.
-
Harrison>Moss
-
^^^^TROOFIN\'.
-
Harrison\'s more consistent. Moss is still better, though. Was better last year, and was better 3 years ago (Harrison had a HUGE year 2 years ago, had like over 120 catches).
Now, imagine if you had BOTH of them on your fantasy football team *stares at Non-Keeper Psx2c league* :-D
