Title: Anyone played Pikmin 2 yet?
Post by: GmanJoe on September 01, 2004, 04:22:22 AM
I wanna know if it\'s worth buying it. I heard that there are mini-games like time trials against player 2. Anyway, I wanna know if the main story has done away with the time limit. Though that was challenging, I wished I was able to freely explore without the stress of getting the pikmins back to their flower ship before the bugs came out.

It only just came out and I\'ve only had the chance to play it once. All in all, it\'s bigger and better than no.1.

There is no time-limit in single-player mode in Pikmin 2, but frankly I didn\'t think the time-limit was much of a problem in the first game. Once you know where the parts are in the original, you can create a lot of slack time for exploring and finding any given secrets. The 3rd time I beat the game with 30 parts (first time I got in the 20\'s) I did it in about 19 days with one or two "wasted" days in the mix.

Gman, I\'m sure you already played it a couple years ago. As innovative as the first one was, this one looks like it\'s just more of the same.

The question is, is more of the same a good thing when it comes to Pikmin? I\'m on the fence as to if I should pick it up. I probably won\'t, although it sounds like Blade is digging it...

And yea, there\'s no time limit and there is a co-op and competitive multiplayer mode. Two players.

It\'s got a few gameplay enhancements (like the RE0-style character switching system in single-player, which works well) but in general what Eik incinuates is true.. it\'s very much like the first.

It\'s got new breeds of Pikmin and a lot more content though. Pikmin, to date, is still among my favorite GCN titles and Nintendo has delivered a nicely polished sequel with much more content; who could ask for more?

This game is incredible!  It blows away the first and has more challenges as well as random generated cavern levels.  It\'s nice to know that Nintendo fixed all of the problems from the first game-(which was an awesome game BTW) and created a masterpiece!  I\'m stuck between playing Silent Hill 4 and Pikmen2.  Having a blast with both!
