I was never into computer games much less computer RPG\'s. Well now that I\'m getting a laptop, whats a good ass RPG for good ol computers? I dont care if its new or old.
-
depends on if you want traditional RPG like Baldurs Gate or hack n slash like diablo 2 or a boring piece of crap like morrowind
-
Final Fantasy XI. Console born game turned pc. A bit of both worlds. Actually i couldnt recomend much but diablo was ok when it first came out. It really all depends like mm mentioned.
Actually. Scratch FFXI off of there. Even if you might like the game. it would be a bit iffy considering its not just an RPG and you have to pay to play even after you buy it i believe.
-
Morrowind can be boring. But it depends on how you play it. I loved stealing expensive shit and assasinating people.
-
Gothic 1 and 2 are pretty good games.
Theres also Sacred and others like it, which i can\'t remember.. Diablo style games.
-
Fallout 1 & 2.
KOTOR is also good if you haven\'t tried it on Xbox.
-
go with baldur\'s gate
older game so its easy on the resources(i.e. good for a laptop)
and its the only rpg thats interested me in the slightest which should be reason enough alone
-
Fallout 1 and 2 are great and you can pick them up for dirt cheap. I got both of them over a year ago for 10 bucks.
-
The Baldurs Gate series is the pinnacle of D&D RPG\'s.
Bioware rules.
-
The original Baldur\'s Gate: Forgotten Realm is for Windows 95/98/ME. Damnit.
EDIT: Now that I looked into it, all the BG\'s are for Windows 95/98/2000 or ME. aint that a bitch.
ANOTHER EDIT: well what a coincedence, so are both Fallouts.
-
You can still play them.
-
probably because they came out BEFORE windows XP
-
2000 = NT Kernal.. If they run on 2000, they\'ll run on xp.
-
also there is compatibility mode in windows xp... you can even play a game made for windows 95 if you want.
-
I figured common sense would prevail.
-
Hows diablo 2? Is it worth getting?
-
It\'s more of the same diablo 1 with more weapons and classes. If repeated mouse clicking doesn\'t bore you then you can try it out.
-
Never played the first. screw it, I\'ll skip diablo.
-
Don\'t try to take on too many at once. Just get one or two at first and see what you like..
They\'re better consumed one at a time.
-
^smart man^
Though i too like to get a whole bunch of things and run with them....
That is after i bought them!
I know what you were thinking :p j/k

Ive already completely outdone myself. After getting all three BG\'s for thirty bucks I have like 13 games waiting for me when I get home. Its gonna take me forever just to get through all them, and then all the new games that will come out in the future, Im booked for some serious gaming for a long ass time. Thats what I get for being away for eight months though. I have to do some catching up.
