Title: Memory Card Help Regarding Psx + Ps2

For some odd reason i felt like playing some psx games on my ps2. Games work all fine and well, but when i try to save (Yes i have a psx memory card to save on) it doesnt work, nor will it load a saved game (Friends memory card, psx). I go to check the browser and i can see my ps2 memory card, but not my psx one. Does anyone know whats wrong? I have many different psx memory cards, including the official sony one, but none of them seem to be reading on my ps2.

So the questions would be...:

1.Why wont my psx games save on my ps2 using a psx mem card?

2.Why wont any of my psx mem cards read in the ps2 browser?

I own gamestop psx Memory cards as well as the sony ones, neither work.

Mine work fine.  PSX games save on PSX cards.  PSX2 Games save on PSX2 cards.  No mixing.  You sure your old PSX cards are still good?

Yeah they work on my friends psx, but he wont let me borrow it -.-". He insists on keeping his console collection complete at all times

Wow dude, you are slow. :laughing: We had like a whole 5 posts of people trying to figure it out then I explained it. Better late than never I guess.

Well see the problem could be that since your cards arent very new, they might have to be situated the right way (as in pull them out just a tad). Just try pulling it out a little bit and pushing it back in a bit but never all the way to the back. I have this problem with a lot of my psx and old ps2 memory cards.

If the PS2 MC works properly, then it has to be something wrong with your old PSX Card !
Just buy a new one... they are cheap now.
BTW: is it an original MC ? The PS2 often has problems with 3rd Party MCs.
