Title: Souly\'s PC Wish list.
Post by: §ôµÏG®ïñD on September 07, 2004, 08:24:45 AM
Boards are kinda slow..  Currently the titles i\'m VERY interested in.

Splinter Cell 3 (Chaos Theory)
This game looks unreal, they\'ve added so much from the 2nd SC. I asked a few questions over at the SC forums that i found to be somewhat small problems in the first 2 games and got yes replies to the following questions.
Being able to lie down on your stomach and shuffle forward
Being able to turn of lamps without having to shot them
Being able to drop people of ledges
Being able to pull people of ledges? (Like what was in the trailer\'s cut scene clip)
Being able to shot people through wooden doors or fabrics like tents etc.

They\'re now using ragdoll effects, theres new techniques, stealth kills (with knife) new gadgets, Coop Multiplayer (my personal fav) and i\'ll be getting this game from day 1.
Trailer here (http://ftp://ftp.ubi.com/us/games/splintercell3/media/scct_teaser_640x480_2.zip)

ShellShock Nam 67
I love war games, this one i\'m picking up this week.

Conflict Vietnam.
Another war game i\'ll pick up sometime this week.

Kights of the old republic 2
I\'ll get this one on day 1. I loved the first and played it till i pretty much completed all side quests that can be done. Went through the game around 6 times.  I\'m hoping they have a MP side to it, haven\'t looked into it much, but i doubt it.

So anyone got any pc games they\'re hangin for?

Knights of the Old Republic was the single greatest gaming experience of my life.

Can\'t wait for 2.

Bioware rules.

Also looking forward to Rome: Total War, Call of Chuthulu(delayed:(), and The Sims 2.

Oh, and half-Life 2... I guess.

Yes, Splinter Cell 3 is #1. on my list as well. I got Xbox too, but I am almost sure it won\'t be as good as on a high end pc. That\'s why I upgraded. Oh yeah, and SC3 is on the shader model 3.0 list. I\'m really happy with my Gainward golden sample GT :bounce: As for style of graphics it\'s right between HL2 and Doom3 imo.

The official trailer is 100% Xbox gameplay footage ; which looks very nice, but there are various pc gameplay vids on the net which show the PC version will rule this time.

Then at #2. there\'s Half Life 2. Still gotta play Doom3 also...

damn..then there\'s also console games like MGS3 and Killzone.

Time is what I have least. Money and hardware is not the problem this round...

A Rainbow Six game with a solid engine.  A pipe dream?

I played the MOHPA demo and wasn\'t that impressed.  I hope the multiplayer will be more fluid.

Brothers In Arms.  For some reason I like how history is presented along with a game, makes it more realistic.  Especially with the lengths they go to to make the story and terrain all authentic.

HL 2

I\'m also very much looking forward to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

Half Life 2 is the obvious candidate on this one, but I\'ll throw a few more titles into the ring for everyone to discuss --

Call of Duty: United Offensive
The Sims 2
Star Wars Battlefront
Battlefield 2

Im not much for first person shooters any more but Painkiller: Battle out of Hell (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/690/690609/imgs_1.html)  looks badass.

Full Spectrum Warrior(Sep 21) also looks worthwhile.

I\'m not sure how fun it will be on PC, but I had a pretty good time with the Xbox version.  However, once the single player missions are over, there\'s not much else keeping you there.  The online stuff really wasn\'t for me.

Haha that rocks!  Reminds me of Mission Impossible at the end. :D

I assume they were playing that on PC right?  Is the communication system integrated in the game or do they expect you to use something like Teamspeak?

I\'m pretty sure it was pc. It was at E3, so it may have been the xbox version.  As for how you go about talking, i don\'t even know if its a online based mp system. It may just be for lans and not the internet.. or you could just end up using a mic type thing.  I don\'t know, not many details have been released about it.

Hey Soulgrind ! You\'re at the SC3 board too eh ? I\'m Knot3D there :)

anyway....since I am mostly in it for the single player mode ; the only thing i am \'worried\'  about, is the enemy AI. I sure do hope it\'s really as good as Ubi claims it to be and then some. Imo PT\'s AI was quite dim. To cover that up they just \'sharpened\' guards\' senses somewhat and that 3 mode alarm buffer. I really adore the new theme music ; glad to hear Amon Tobin is back :thepimp:

Yea, the AI has improved somewhat, but from what i\'ve seen all they have is new techniques in finding you.. Flares, glow tubes stuff like that...   Only time will tell. Also from what i\'ve heard the coop will be just as long as the sp campaign.. that sounds crazy.

SC3 has been pushed back to MARCH next year on all platforms.. Kinda sucks..  also with missions u get rated on your stealth skills.  The better you do the more info u get on missions etc.
Theres also secondary objectives u can do and multiple ways of doing things...

I\'m waiting on KoToR2 . Will it be released same time as the Xbox version?

"LucasArts today confirmed a December 2004 release date for the Xbox version of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. As originally announced the PC platform and international versions will launch in February 2005.

“We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn’t want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords,” says Producer Mike Gallo. “We recently completed a very important milestone which confirmed we can confidently do this."

I guess I\'ll buy the Xbox version then - doubt there will be a huge leap in performance , I know from what I understand, KoToR didn\'t really benefit from top of the line hardware.
